MommyP - did you say P-test. I thought we already played that 3 pack? popcorn::

I just finished reading your report and it was great! I just told my husband that I was reading a trip report on the DIS, and it made me want to go to the World without kids. I've NEVER thought I would enjoy that. We love the World and we love/need to take trips without our kids. But to combine the two has always seemed...well, just not right. But you may have convinced me otherwise!

Waiting for the end! Love it!

:)

So I wake up around 4:30am with stomach issues. After I resolves those issues I take an Imodium. When we get up to get ready, I’m still not feeling 100%. Just a little woozy. But, it’s my birthday today and we’re going to the AK! So we get ready and head down to the bus stop. We arrive in plenty of time to stand in line at the turnstiles. Why don’t they let you through and keep you in the Oasis, it sure would be nice. But before choosing a line, we obviously chose the shortest unlike most people, I went to GR to get my birthday button. I was super excited about this. I even made a B-day shirt, which no one ever mentioned. Oh well. My button. I ask the lady if this is where I go to get a Birthday button, she throws one at me through the window and sends me packing. What? No Happy Birthday? No Have a Magical Day? No nothing? I’m not kidding either, she flung that puppy at me. Okay, not the welcome I was hoping for. I put the button on, in a obvious place, I wanted everyone to notice and proceeded to wait in line. And wait and wait and wait. We watched other people, made fun of someone with a screaming child, oohhed and ahhhed at all the cute little girls, wondered about one little girl who was already fast asleep in her stroller at 8:30am. LOL. And just eavesdropped on peoples conversations in general. At almost 9 Wes Palm came over to our area. DH thinks it’s exciting to try and find the talker. It was one we’ve seen before. It would be a lot less obvious if he was talking on a cell phone instead of holding the little microphone in his hand. I also think he kind of looks like a pervert with his hand all up in his bag like that. Plus, why is he ALWAYS wearing black? No one else is wearing black. He sticks out like a sore thumb and we always find him. Which I hate because then if Wes Palm talks to me, I have to force myself not to look at the “talker”. One more thing, HOW ON EARTH does the “talker” know what people are saying to Wes Palm? Sometimes he’s 20 feet away or more and there is NO way he can hear them. Either that thing transmits voices back to him (I didn’t see an ear piece) or he can read lips. Freaks me out. So Wes made it over to our area, we avoided eye contact and thankfully he saw an easier target. A man who was dressed like Indiana Jones. He was walking into the guest relations line and Wes saw him and followed him, into the line. LOL! All the time saying things like, ”Oh my gosh, it’s Indiana Jones.” “ Can I have your autograph” “I’m following Indiana Jones.” The man was either ignoring him or didn’t realize what was going on because he NEVER turned around. When he was done eith GR he turned to leave the line and Wes left ahead of him saying, “Oh boy now he’s following me.” It was SO funny and everyone waiting in line was laughing, the man never noticed.

Finally we get through and speed walk to EE, wondering about all the idiots running with the CM’s yelling after them, ”No running!” We have like a 10 minute wait, but first we got FP’s. We ride, it’s fun, but after I feel even worse. I have a headache, and my chest hurts. I rode it before so I didn’t know why I was reacting so badly, except that I wasn’t feel so swell to begin with. We get back in line to ride again, it said 15 minutes, but it wasn’t moving, so after a while I asked Chad if it would be okay to skip it this time because I wasn’t feeling well. We left and got to Kali right before 9:30, which is when it opens. I wore white shorts, I knew if they got wet on Kali I’d be one of “those” people. You know the ones. They wear white shorts on a day they know they’re going to get soaked and then all the world can see their underwear. So I was going to wear my poncho. Dorky I know, but I didn’t want to have a wet white butt. So I wrapped my poncho around my waist like a skirt. Good thing I did too, because DH and I got the wave. You know the one, we went down the falls backwards and got soaked. Though I’ve seen people more wet than us before, so it could be worse. The poncho worked, kinda, my left cheek somehow still got wet, but not soaked. Next we went to walk through the Asia trail, which name escapes me right now. It is always nice going through there without the kids and stroller. We always run through the bird part though, neither one of us likes birds enough to wait around to get crapped on. While in the trail though I heard an interesting conversation. Some people were talking about how Disney can’t use the “not a zoo” (only with the African spelling) thing anymore because a zoo somewhere took that phrase and made it all legal like so no one else could use it. I don’t understand how people can take a sentence in the English language and tell other people they can’t use it. How stupid. Stupider still is why Disney didn’t think of it first. Lol That’s hot.

Now I’m drawing a little blank. I we went over to ride Dinosaur. It’s one of Chad’s favorites. Then we went to get Safari FP’s and then I think we went to Tusker House for lunch. We got a half chicken to share and went outside on the back patio to eat. We love the food at TH, but HATE the community seating. I have no problem with other people, but you already don’t get enough personal space at WDW, when I’m eating, I want my personal space. I don’t want to share a bathroom stall with anyone and I don’t want to share my table with 20 other people. So we went out back, plus we wanted to be able to hear the “kitchen sounds” which is cool. I wasn’t really hungry. Oh that’s right, after Kali we shared a pretzel. But I had a few nibbles. Then I felt it…you know that wash over your whole being feeling of nausea. I fought it, but the more I thought about it the worse I felt. When I feel the need to throw up, I worry, because I NEVER throw up without needing to be on a toilet. It’s always both ends with me, always. So being in a public place just isn’t the best situation. I was going through the park in my mind, wears First Aid, where’s the nearest companion bathroom, how can I get out of here, I’ll never make it on a 30 minute bus trip, I don’t want to be like that lady on the bus that puked behind the seats and caused everyone to raise their feet. Chad was starting to worry, because I had sat there for like 15 minutes without saying a word. I told him how I was feeling and said I think we need to leave, but I can’t take a bus. So he said we’ll get a taxi. The next problem was getting from there to the nearest bathroom without pulling a ZZUB. Chad talked me through it and got my mind off of it so I could make it to the companion bathroom. The only place I knew for sure there was one was near Flame Tree. I wanted a companion because my Imodium was wearing off and I was afraid I’d have to pull a ZZUB while on the toilet and that would end up all over the floor. Plus when I am sick, I want my DH there with me. One time a couple years ago I was sick, going at both ends and I passed out. Thankfully Chad was there to make sure I didn’t smash my head into anything while falling off the toilet. Ever since then I always make sure he is with me. So we find it, take care of business, sneak out. I always feel like people are thinking, ”What were THEY doing in there.” When we come out of a companion bathroom together. Yes, we’ve used one before. If there isn’t anyone waiting and it’s empty, we hop in there, take care of business (not what your thinking!) and hop out. When it’s just the 2 of us, we hate to be apart even a minute to go to the bathroom. Plus they are usually cleaner. Yes, we’re “those” kind of people that use a companion bathroom and we’re not handicap. Does it really surprise you? We finish up, leave and take a taxi back to the Poly. Only we can’t get back to the Poly because there is a bad accident at the intersection we need to take a left at. So he drops us off at the Contemporary. Geez. $20.00 for a 10 minute ride. That’s a lot of money. But he drove faster than the bus drivers and I didn’t have to worry about public humiliation. So it was $20 + tip well spent. He was a nice man from Haiti. I love their accents and how they are terrified of animals. Hehe. Warning: Aside up ahead

Our old meter reader at our house was Haitian. He was SOOOOOOOOO nice! We actually got to see each other more than most people because we had a dog and a fenced in back yard. He was afraid of our dog, even though he’d been coming since she was a puppy and I told him a million times that she was really friendly. So every month, he’d knock on the front door, I’d go open the fence for him and stand there while he went to the other side of the yard to read the meter. He’d say, “Hi. Sadie. (our dog)” and would be fine unless she came up to him. She likes people, she wants people to like her. She wants you to pet her, talk to her, throw a stick for her. Anything, just don’t ignore her, or she won’t stop bothering you. But he didn’t want her in his personal space, so I’d have to call her and tell her to go to her house. Which she did. Every month the same thing. And we’d talk, “Oh how many kids to you have?” “3” “they are all boys?” “yes”. “Oh you’re pregnant?” “Yes” “What did you have?” “a boy” “4 boys?” “Yes” He was our meter reader for a long time. The funniest thing is every time he’d come he’d bring a stick with him, I guess to beat off Sadie if she became rabid? I was sad to say good bye that last month before we moved. I only hope we have another nice meter reader in our new house. Aside over

So we gave Haiti a nice tip, because he got us here fast and offered to take us here instead of the back way to the Poly which would have just kept cha chinging up the cost. The lobby area of the Contemporary is pretty nice, we take the elevator up to the monorail floor and get on just in time. We’re riding with nice family with 1 child. Somehow we started talking about how much it costs to come to WDW and of course how many kids we have, because THAT always gets brought up. He asked us how much it would cost us to take all of our kids here for a week. I said, “Well we are coming in Sept. for 10 nights. The total package with, free dining of course, costs $1800 and of course since we’re FL res. We already have seasonal passes which are dirt cheap.” (maybe not my exact words, you get the point) He almost had a heart attack. They were there for 1 week, staying at All Stars, and it cost them $5000 dollars. OMGosh! $5000??????????? Course they had to fly, but still. He was one of those poor souls that didn’t know how to plan a real WDW trip. I mean, $5000? Geesh. They probably waited in lines and didn’t use FP’s either. That’s mean. I think.

So we get back and go to our room. I just kinda want to chill for a while in the AC and hope I feel better. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bummed because it’s my birthday and I don’t feel good. We had a ADR at 8:50 for CG and I was obviously not going to be feeling up to it. So DH called to cancel. He told the CM I was sick and she said she would mention that so we wouldn’t get charged for canceling. Then she asked him if he wanted to make another ADR for a different time. I told him to see if he could get Le Cellier for Saturday lunch. We had our choice of times? What’s with that? I think we picked 12 something. I was so bummed. It was my birthday, he told the CM that when we made our CG ADR’s. I was going to wear my B-day button, hoping for some special confetti on my table. Now I wasn’t going to get anything. Geez, we could have taken our trip a week earlier now, nothing special for my birthday, which is the only reason we came Memorial Day week(end).

We decide to head down to the pool and just sit at our table. Oh, but first I think DH went to get my gifts he had sent to the resort yesterday. He got me this really cool picture frame that is 3 4x6 or 5x7 frames hanging down by chains. The Happiest Celebration CD, WISHES CD, some bling bling Mickey clips, and a WDW Desktop Themes program. So we go and sit at the table by the pool. We play some cards, and we’re freakin board. We are board out of our minds. I can’t even have a drink because I feel so horrible. I finally tell DH that he can have a drink without me, we don’t have to both be miserable. He goes to the gift shop and gets a 6 pack there because it’s a lot cheaper than 5.75 per beer at the bar. I’m feeling a lot better than I was before at AK, and I’m kinda wanted a frozen coffee drink, it sounded good. So I had one. After a while I decided I wanted to go to MK. I didn’t want to venture farther away than that. So we got dressed and took the boat over. It was a nice evening, I think. Breezy and overcast, I think. I don’t remember being hot, so it must have been. We walked around and rode BTMR and then my phone rang. I’d been getting calls all afternoon from my family wishing me a happy birthday, but most of them went right to my voice mail for some reason. But this time it got through, it was my little sis, I told her I was feeling really crappy and she said the words that shook the earth. “You’re not pregnant are you?” I’d been thinking it all day, “Boy this sure does feel like morning/afternoon/into the evening sickness.” But I kept pushing the thought from my head, I figured it was my imagination. Even though I was 2 weeks late, I’d taken 2 tests, both were negative…but that was a week ago. Could I be? I told her to shut up and not curse at me. We want more kids, just not yet. I’ve got 4 of them already and my oldest isn’t even 6 yet. Mama needs a break. Chad heard her say that, and that was it. He dragged me outta there and back at the Poly we went on a pregnancy test hunt. They didn’t have them, surprise, surprise I told him they wouldn’t. So we hopped in our van and headed towards DTD, to go to Goodys, or whatever that place is called. We got lost, but finally made it. I got some gatoraid, chicken noodle soup and a pregnancy test. A 2 pack. You can never have too many. If I had brought the 3rd from my 3 pack at home, we wouldn’t have had to leave the resort. We stop by Captain Ron’s back at the Poly to get Chad a burger and to heat up my soup. Which was so gross I threw it away. One bite of DH’s burger and it was pretty good, so I ate half. Back at the room, I took the test.

Up next: A friend visits, leaving the Poly, and why I hate the Wilderness Lodge.

Did you think I was going to leave your hanging, again? Ha! That's one way to get you to keep coming back! After waiting 3 LONG minutes, the results were in.

NEGATIVE! :thumbsup2 Thankfully, it's not our time yet. Seeing as how we don't have a house right now, I think that's best!

OMG! I so thought you were going to leave us hanging!! ;) Hope you started to feel better...must have been what ailed my Samantha - seems likes everyone's ZZUB'in lately round WDW!

Negative, eh?

Well... well...

I'm really enjoying your TR. It's very very detailed.

To the point of nauseating me... this last segment.

Therefore: Mad props to you Mommy!!!!

Rock on Croc Lady!!!

I so thought that you were going to leave us hanging.
I love it.
Can't wait to hear more.

Thanks for not leaving us hanging!!! (but sorry you didn't feel good).

Great report!!!! :thumbsup2

Wonderful TR MP. I am really enjoying it.

Reading about the two of you there without kids has almost made me regret including both families in our trip again in Sept. This will be the third straight trip that DW and I have not been alone.

The kids will have a blast though and I am hoping that we will get to go back in the spring next year.

I'm having extra $ held out for taxes and I hope we will get a big enough refund to do a week at the Poly, or GF.

Oh, and congrats on the negative.

Once again great trip report :thumbsup2 Although you almost killed me there, thought you left us all hanging!!

Hey MommyP!

I'm enjoying your TR! I loved the segment about the chatty bus driver. But the talking palm tree thing was hilarious! :rotfl:

I totally agree with you about the smell of the Poly. It takes me back to when I was 9 and going to WDW for the first time ever. The very first place we went was the Poly...I'll never forget that smell...and every time I step back into it, I'm 9 all over again. It's my happy place.

Can't wait for the next installment!

i love your report! it's great :teeth: happy belated birthday! we tried to do AK for DBF's bday this year and felt the same way about the staff there, at GR they didn't give us the special phone call from Goofy or anything, just kinda threw the button at him. We were celebrating his bday a day late (we flew in on the actual day and didn't get into WDW until late, so I thought it would be ok to celebrate the day after) and when one CM figured out that it wasn't DBF's actual bday, he yelled at him! DBF was already embarrassed that I had made him wear the button and he ripped it right off after that. I felt so bad...but anyway, I digress! That's definitely not as bad as getting sick on your bday - hope you started to feel better the next day! Can't wait to read more! :sunny:

Its great reading your trip report...definitely one of my favorites considering you and your husband are about the same age as my GF and I. I don't want to see this trip report die though!! Hopefully I'll get to read more!

My heart stopped for you when I thought you might be, i have 3 young ones of my own and the idea of a 4th right now sends me into a spin, very pleased for you, just a shame it had to hit your birthday like that.
Great report as always, funny, informative and entertaining :thumbsup2

Day 4 - Part 1

Today we were going to sleep in and then drag all our junk back to the van, leave my beloved Poly and check into the WL. Who sleeps in at Disney anyway, huh? I sure don’t. So I woke up pretty early still. I got home and started getting ready for the day. Packing up our things and saying my goodbyes to the Poly. Sometime during the duration of the morning a “friend” came to visit, if you get my drift. It was like 3 weeks late, but better late than never I always say! I had forgotten that since I’d been on BC pills the day before I experience pregnancy symptoms. Morning sickness, tiredness, bad taste, excessive saliva. Anyway, you get my point. So all was well, at least now I knew why I felt so horrible the day before.

We get packed up and start out with all our luggage. Two full size suitcases and the duffle bag of drinks. Plus a beach bag with towels and suits, and a ton of shopping bags. We decide to walk through the lobby this time and Chad just has to stop for a last minute shopping spree. I refused to walk through the store with my suitcase, nothing screams hillbilly more than that. So I had a seat and waited for him. He finally reappeared and we had a nice man take our picture in front of the fountains before heading out.

I was very sad to go. Afraid I would never be back. But we were excited to be trying the WL too. Plus this was our first real day at Epcot, and we couldn’t wait to start eating. Especially now that I was feeling good.

We make our way to the WL. We’d already seen the outside of it the other day when our bus driver detoured. So the awe factor wasn’t there. But it was pretty and we were excited. We park, not TOO far away and leave all our junk in the van, it’s only like 9:30 so we know our room won’t be ready. We get in line, and even though we are next it’s a flipping long wait. I always get stuck behind the people who don’t seem to know what they are doing and they take FOREVER to check in. It’s finally our turn, I give her our name, she clicks on her computer, gives us our Keys to the World, tells us to call this number after 3 for our room and bam, we’re done. Actually, I was done, Chad didn’t wait with me. He went off to explore. Thankfully, he had the camera.

I called him up and asked him where he was. We found each other and all he could talk about was the bar. It’s the nicest bar, this and that and blah blah, he went on and on about the bar and the wood floors. We walked around the lobby, and took pictures, we were in awe. It was beautiful. Then we found our way outside, I wanted to see the pool area and the geyser. We loved it. Chad really loved it. When you walk out to the geyser and turn around to look at the lodge, it is just amazing! I could see why so many people loved this place. We sure did! We talked about coming back here, but that we have too many kids and it’s just not affordable when you have to get a deluxe room. We talked about renting points to come here one time, we even talked about buying DVC, so we could stay here, but of course, we don’t/never will have that kind of extra money laying around. But it was the first time I even got Chad talking about it. We dropped off all our papers at the van and picked up Pluto. He’d be going with us today to Epcot. We loved the covered walkway to the bus stops too. In just a few minutes a Epcot bus arrived and we were on our way. Today was going to be a WS day. We weren’t consumed with rushing to Soarin’, Test Track, or anything. We just wanted to walk around and enjoy our time together. The first thing we did was to go into Innoventions. We’d never gone in their before. I don’t know if we were in East of West, it was the one with the fire engine. We sent a postcard to the boys. Walked around and basically did nothing. Kinda boring in there. Then we went to get a FP for Soarin’. I hate the Land. It’s SOOOOO crazy in there. On our way back up stairs after getting our FP this young girl(teens) gets in front of us. She is walking with her Dad(I assume, because of the age difference). Apparently she forgot to put her shorts on over her underwear. I can’t believe Disney was letting her walk around like that. Her shorts, if they could be called that, fit just like boy style underwear. Her checks were a good 2-3 inches, UNCOVERED! I tried to get the nerve to take a picture, but I couldn’t, so you’ll just have to imagine and trust me. It was gross. What kind of Dad lets their daughter walk around in public like that? :confused3

It was probably around 11:30 now. We were hungry, so we headed into the WS to start our day. On our way we wandered around down paths and through paths. I love Epcot in May.

We stopped in Tinkerbelles garden for some pictures and playtime for pluto.

Like any smart, WDW traveler we started in Canada. Because, no one else was there. It was great! We didn’t spend any time there because we had lunch planned there Tomorrow, so we figured we’d do it then. So, we went to the next one, the UK. We didn’t get anything to eat here, but we did get a beer to share. While we were touring my Mom called. The boys had gotten their postcard and were super excited. They all wanted to talk to me, at once. They’re so sweet. They wanted to know how we took a picture in space(that’s the background we picked) and my Mom said that every time they opened it up to look at it again, it played music and when Kaleb heard the music he’d come running to the computer to see the picture again. Aww! We missed them, but thankfully it wasn’t too bad and we were still having a great time! We headed on into France. Here we wanted to try a Mimosa and I wanted one of those sandwiches on a croissant. I went in search of that, while Chad went in search of the mimosa. That place sure smelled good. Dang! I got the quiche instead, because Chad loves that stuff and I refuse to make it. I got that and a chocolate moose. He couldn’t find the Mimosa though. The quiche was good, although the middle wasn’t heated and the moose was sooo good. We sat back at those little tables in the store. After we finished we went to the cart thing and that’s where the mimosas were. It was good, but extremely small.

Up next: Sushi, why we hate the WL and the ride that has nudity.

oohhh, mimosa's. I love them from France! I have to stop everytime when I am there, not sure why, but just have to! Great TR keep it coming!

Thanks for the update...I'm curious what goes wrong at WL since it started off so good.

Thanks for tip about starting in Canada...we always seem to head via mexico with everyone else!
