Lifestyles of the not so rich and famous, Poly style,oh the WL(blah) too.DONE!!!8/30

Wow Mandee, you are only home a few days and already have a few posts for your trip. show everyone else how to get-r-done!

The pics are great and you and your hubby are so cute together.
But I must have missed the travellingplutopants. Do you have more pics?

Lovin the trippie so far, but I loved the wilderness lodge and am really sad that you didn't enjoy your stay there.

Can't wait to here the rest!!

Horseyponybabygirl - The balcony was the BEST! We spent the mornings and evenings there. Even if we weren't out there we'd have it open, just to hear the sounds of the marina. We were there 2 days before we even passed another person in Fiji, or saw/heard anyone else on their balcony. We found that by turning the AC down past 60 and sitting outside with the door open, it was cool. hehe We had the best view of the sun rising! :sunny:

McDISer - We always have a great time without the kids. It's not the same and we miss them..I even spend a lot of time watching out for other peoples kids. Habit I guess. But it's so relaxing without the kids. We can come and go as we please, have some drinks by the pool and just hang out.

Em'smom - The traveling Pluto was in the first picture, he was sitting on the balcony, enjoying the view and yes I have more pictures to come! About the WL....all in due time....all in due time. :teeth:

HE wanted to go into the Mexican Pavilion and see if we could be seated, but first he wanted to look at the menu. I said,"It's Mexican, they have tacos" He called me some more names and off we walked.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: This line really cracked me up. You have a very subtle, wicked sense of humor. I pity poor Chad -- no way he can keep up, I'm sure. Keep 'em coming!

Disclaimer: This chapter is not intended to to offend anyone staying at the Contemporary Resort, after all, it's better than the WL. lol. J/k
I think.. or anyone who cannot/does not/will not handle their kids... small familes... anyone who likes Stitch... or TGM.

Wednesday, May 24, 2006, My Birthdayeve

The night before I forgot to mention that we had put our breakfast order thingy on the door. We got a pot of coffee
and the big kahuna breakfast. Scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage, bacon, biscuts, ham, pancakes, I think that was it..
We set it up for the 6:30-7:00 time. Chad's idea, I don't know why, we didn't need to be up until 7. So I set a wake-up
call for 6:40...I didn't really think that breakfast would come before that.

I woke up at 5:50, it took a while to fall back to sleep, but I did finally. I didn't want to just turn the tv on, because I
figured there was no sense in waking Chad too early. I woke a little later to a banging on the door, I looked at the
clock, 6:30. They are on the ball. I pushed Chad and made up get up and get the door. It smelled sooo good. We ate out
on the balcony, and the sun was kinda peaking a little tiny bit through the thick clouds. It was so nice, sitting out on our balcony,
early in the morning...so quiet. The food was great and after we finished and got ready we called the boys. That took forever.
Both of us talking to all four of them, and my Mom. But we couldn't imagine starting our day without first calling them. Ethan asked
me, "Mommy, you coming home today?"

We left for the MK in plenty of time...took the monorail. Doesn't it feel so special when you can hop on the monorail from your resort?
I felt like I was rich...and famous. Maybe not so much as those really special people who stay at the Grand Floridian..but certainly more
so than those at the CR. heh. We arrived, disembarked, went through security, and a practically non-exsistent line at the turnstyles.
We grabbed up seats on the planter so we could wait and watch the opening. We people watched, and CROC watched. You could tell
who had older CROCS, who had brand new CROCS, who probably had CROCS Butter, little kids, big kids, adults, old and young alike.
There are a lot of CROCS at WDW. We watched this one man who was unable to handle his little boy, who had CROCS on BTW. The
boy, not the father. The boy would pretty much walk around wherever he so desired, and the father followed him. Then the little boy would
do that drop to the ground while the father dragged him because he would walk thing. All the while coaxing and BEGGING the kid to stand
up. We had a good laugh...somehow we hand 4 of them, without anyhting like that ever happening and yet here this man is who can't handle
one. Makes us love our kids even more!

Finally the main street performers came out with some scary woman and started dancing and singing. Last time we were there for opening
they didn't come out, it was fun. I love starting my morning out with that! Next came the train with Mickey and friends and that lucky famliy
chosen for the opening.

1 .... and the mad dash begins. We didn't mad dash, we weren't in that big of a hurry...I had to make a potty stop before we could head
for Space. I love how in the mornings all the CM are out on main street waving their big mickey gloves at us. We headed down into TL
and laughed at all the people lined up outside the doors for Stitch...suckers. Then we came to a screeching halt. Why is the line for Space
all the way out into TL? We got FP and decided not to ride...I cursed TGM because he never said anything about the line being all the way
out into TL. Next we decided head to Adventure land, by the way of Fantasyland and riding Winnie the Pooh. I love that ride, it's so fun and
cute and reminds me of Ethan. He loves that ride too and mimics Pooh at the end when he's eating his honey. Next we enjoy a empty walk
into adventureland and come to another screeching halt, because Splash is down. Now I am totally getting disapointed...I didn't have a happy
face or attitude as we got into a 20 minute wait(wasn't really) for BTMR, at like 9:30am. Since I had a bad attitude Chad also got a bad attitude.
Instead of trying to cheer me up, he just gets mad at me for not being happy. It's just one of his faults, I have plenty...like being in a bad mood at
the MK. So we get up to the front of the line, and we get stuck near the front. You ever ridden in the front of BTMR? It sucks, big time. You are
pretty much at the bottom of every drop before the train releases and you actually start going fast. Which added to my sour mood and we pretty
much scowled and growled through the whole thing. After we got off, I said,"lets go again" the line was a little longer this time, but it gave us time
to talk. I said I was sorry, he said he was sorry, we hugged and kissed and this time Chad asked if we could be in the back. It was much more fun
but I think the middle is the best on that one. When we exited Splash was till down and we were 15 minutes away from being able to get another FP,
which was over 2 hours out, which means we would be pushed way back getting another FP. I devised a plan...I said,"Tom Sawyers Island is about
to open, we'll be on the first raft and we can look for the paintbrush so we can get a FP for splash without actually having to use our next FP window.
He was impressed I knew of such a thing as finding paintbrushes on Tom Sawyers Island. There were maybe a dozen or so other people on the raft,
we however were smart and hung out right by where we'd be getting off the raft. I was one of the first people off and I told Chad, you go that way and
I'll go this way, call me if you find it! I headed out towards the fort, alone. Seconds later my phone deep deeps...

Up next: Did we get a paint brush? Did we celebrate victory or pout in defeat? Did it start raining? Is Splash ever going to be working again?
Will another ride go down?

I'm enjoying your trip report very much. I love that you guys filled the time on the way to Disney talking about death and the bird flu. You seem dark and disturbed. But in a good way.

By the way, I'm with your husband on the toilet. A good bathroom can really make a trip.

Maelstrom!

YES YES!!! Great Trip Report :goodvibes !! Was it hard talking to the doll-babies  while you were away? I wondered and was glad you mentioned talking to them in this report!! They are ADORABLE!!! KEEP US POSTED!!! Enjoying the whole report!! :teeth:

Great TR MommyP.

We used to stay at the Poly every year when I was a little girl. Probably because it was the only place to stay other than CR. I didn't realize it was such a hot comodity again. I will have to give it another shot. I do visit it every time I am at WDW though--kind of like an old friend.

If you take note of my ticker below--uh-oh. Can't wait to hear what you did not like about WL. I know, in due time; patience my friend, patience.

BTW--don't the security lines have a separate line for people without bags?? I am almost positive of this because every time I am waiting in the looong line I wonder why I always have to bring a bag. Pity.

Thanks for writing so soon after your return. :teeth:

I'm enjoying your report! Can't wait to hear more. When I was trying to match up a face to see if we had crossed paths, I was looking at the boys' pictures. I forgot that they weren't with you on this trip.

And the Poly sounds wonderful. Frankly, it's the only deluxe I really want to stay at! Of course, I don't count the Boardwalk because I've stayed there on DVC points, and I love it!!

Momrek06 - We called them every morning. It was nice talking to them. They loved being able to stay with my Mom, she has a pool, and one night they stayed with my newly wed sister, which was a special treat.

2xcited2slp - All the other parks have seperate lines, and soemtimes Epcot sets up their tables right when you get off the monorail and has a seperate line. But most times I've been there you have to wait in the regular line for the turnstyle because they are checking bags before you go in there. Which stinks when you don't have a bag and it REALLY holds up the line between bag checking and people not knowing how to squeeze their fingers together.

Great report, looking for more....
Love the pics too.

what????????????

did I read you right??????????????

MORE RICH AND FAMOUS AT THE GF?????????????

I think not sista....those people are just plain silly

BTW LOVE LOVE LOVE THE PICS!!!!! HOOOOORAY!!!!!!!

PMM - Well if you look at it price wise....the GF is the MOST expensive off all the resorts. I want to stay there for my 10 year anniversary...but I have to get snobbier first. :teeth:

I'm trying to think of a way to tell DH it is worth 1400 more to go to the Poly for 6 of our 10 days in Sept. Got any ideas? ;)

Amanda - Great trip report so far - but I still haven't found out why you didn't like the WL. Hurry up why don't you. Come on don't you know you can't leave us haning like this??? The spreadsheet making overplanning comando has a trip to plan :lmao: :rotfl2:

Dkids - They weren't invited, get over it. We're taken them for a 10 night stay in Sept. Free Dining, ya know!

This line alone has me knowing I will read more!! Have to come back later today and catch up with the rest of your report.

SOOOOO glad you decided on the trip and not a fancy ring. That was my vote when you asked about it quite awhile ago. :thumbsup2

“deeeeeeeep” “deeeeeeeeeeeeep” “Go ahead” “I found one” “Are you serious?” “No I’m lying.” And that’s exactly how it went. It took about 10 minutes to find him and then we sat and waited for a raft to return to bring us back. There were NO CM’s to be seen. Kinda scary…none. So we make it back and proudly handed the CM our paintbrush, who was appropriately named, “Tom”. He gave us our superduperspecialcertifercate which was most certainly a FASTPASS, and we stopped to take pictures.

And it was raining.

Well drizzling…but quite disheartening since it was supposed to be “clearing up at 3”.

Well Splash was still down, so we headed back to use our FP at Space. Which we loved. Then we watched COP. I gave DH the options for lunch, one of which was leaving and going to DTD to get Earl of Sandwich. That’s what we did. We took the monorail back to the Poly and then went to the bus stop and waited….and waited. When we got there a MGM bus was loading…we sat and waited and waited and waited…and played with our phones and waited and I downloading a new ring tone( “Hot Chocolate” from Polar Express) and so did he, a farting noise.

Finally after 25 minutes of pure agony and ANOTHER MGM bus , a bus for DTD pulled up. We hopped on. Then we went to Earl, which was OMGosh the BEST! I will go back for SURE! In fact, I’d go to Orlando JUST to get another Beef and Blue. Chad got something else, I forget. While we were eating, outside, because we’d rather sit outside in the heat than with a bunch of other people, we saw something most interesting. A little girl and boy playing in the fountains….awww how cute you think….umm..nope. She was sitting on one of the spouts(ummmm yeah…) and then her brother would push her, which would cause her to fall backward and the spout would then hit her right in the face. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again and again and again and again, yes, it kept going on and on and on and on and on….WHY DIDN’T SHE JUST GET UP AND MOVE! I mean, I love kids, I have 4, but how dumb do you have to be! It was just the 2 of them playing in the fountain, she could have moved to another spout…and WHY was she just sitting there on the spout…yeah…family friendly and all I won’t go further…but WHY was the person watching them(old father or grandfather) just sitting there and not DOING anything for like 15 minutes! Finally he got up walked over and hit the boy with his cane. LOL! I’m not about child abuse, but come on! You would have laughed too. It was hard, just a little, well kinda little, tap….on the head. Then he walked away. I thought maybe he was disowning them and going to find a CM to take care of the problem… but he just sat on a bench farther away. LOL! Oh! It was a good lunch, with a free show. What more can one ask?

Next we went shopping, because remember it’s my birthday eve and I wasn’t able to let Chad forget. We split up and he got me some things he had sent to the room. We had a drink and sat in the shade and listened to the conversations of 4 teenagers. Which is always fun. We shopped some more and then went back to the Poly.

Up next: Okay UK, the bus driver from you know where, a bfing mama, and WONDERFULLY night on our balcony!
