Just wondering if you have opinions of either of these floatation devices for the pool at the Poly? Thanks. She weighs about 40 lbs. Is there a good website for either?

With my son (Down syndrome), we have always used this vest:
http://www.speedousa.com/index.cfm/...oductID/f8d5b9de-7729-42ce-9ff4-7178d29d8080/

It worked great until he started outgrowing it, but he would never go in the pool without us, nor would he ever venture further than the pool's edge.

I think my preference has always been a life vest for a child. For some reason, I never trusted the flotation swimsuits.

When we stayed at ASMo, we used the life vests they had there.......no charge and they were very good quality. Saves on stuff you have to remember to pack/unpack.

Personally, I prefer the life vest.........makes me feel safer.

The life vests provided at no charge at each resort have worked very well for us.

At the Polynesian you can borrow a life jacket from the marina. You have to give them a room key (maybe it was show them the key- can't remember) then you return the vest to them when you're through. They were great vests, comfortable and the marina is only about 20 steps around the corner from the pool.

Thanks, guess we will borrow one down there. Hope they are not all taken though! Anyone have this happen?

We were there in the hottest part of the year, and a holiday week too and there were plenty of vests for anyone who needed them. Honesltly only 3 or 4 kids at a time were using them in the pool. There was never a risk of not having one.

One issue we did find is that the marina closes at night and the one night we went swimming late we had to floar Quin around ourselves because the vest borrowing window was closed for the night. Check their hours when you get there and maybe ask them about keeping it for the duration of your stay. I think they try to be as accomodating as possible.

PS - Quin also weighed 40 lbs last summer so size of vest should not be a huge issue. He was comfortable and loved being in the pool.

I bought my little girl a suit at walmart a couple years ago for about $20. It was pretty and pink and flowery so she didn't mind wearing it. It had floaties sewn right into the suit and it worked great. I never had to worry about her unbuckling a life jacket or her being uncomfortable in one. I think target also had them, too.
