Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

ETA: I need to go back further I guess to catch the conv. on online vs. not online check in. You prefer which?? I had heard that your chances of being spontaneously upgraded are better if you DON'T ONLINE check-in. True??

The concensus seems to be that yes, your chances are better by checking in at the desk rather than online. Since we're arriving at night, the desk shouldn't be busy at all, and I'm just going to check in there.

I'm so excited to hear about how the US side of the trip goes when you get back. You know I'm going to be pressing you for all the dets!

that man NEEDS a vacation.

I think he almost burst a gasket this morning when we learned that Paul has a fractured ankle and will be in a boot.

It's a VERY good thing that I'm packing rum. In fact, we might need a cocktail with breakfast the first day!

Even at night I'd still book it to DME and be at the front of the bus with one of you boogieing to check in. I (barely) beat the line last year at FW, our bus filled up the desk pretty quickly and it was only half full.

Deets will be coming!

Just a quick bye and have a great time! I am off for Edinburgh so will miss your proper send off! But I will get all caught up on what I missed before you get back! LOL!

Paul has a fractured ankle :scared1: Poor guy! He's going to be so hot in that boot :sad2:

How are you packing your bottle of rum? I'd like to bring a bottle of vodka, but not sure how to wrap it.

I love your drink map and I am hence forth calling it the alcoholic's guide to Epcot! :rotfl2: (cause if you can sample everything on the list you are an alkie).

Love your last update and happy hat you r down to your last few days of waiting. WOOT! :cool1:

Oh my goodness!!! I can't believe Paul fractured his ankle!!! Has he thought about renting a wheelchair? I just can't imagine doing a lot of park touring with that kind of injury!

Sounds like you might need a cocktail now!!!

I was wondering the same thing?? bubble wrap? Inside a rolled up shirt?? Do tell! Make mine kahlua!

MEK!! I've been wanting to PM you for days!! maybe even weeks! We really do need to set up a meet of some sort!! Perhaps we could knock off one of those on that list??!! :goodvibes

Oh NO!!! Cynthia, that's everyone's dreaded fear!! Poor guy!

Well I bought plastic so that helps and then we are wrapping it to death inside ziplocs and bags. It's not exactly packed in the suitcase yet so not positive on the final packing but might add some bubble wrap.

Jeff is SO upset about the ankle. Apparently he did this a couple of weeks ago and they think it's not a big deal?

Sandie was like "oh he just won't walk much and will be sitting" Where does she think he will be sitting????

UGH!

It makes me happy we have the 4 days without them. Which sounds awful but...

:rotfl:

I updated it yet again! Apparently I missed the Canta Loopy in China and the Leaping Leprechaun in the UK!

I am really sorry about this upsetting your plans!

... in the wheel chair one of you will have to push... :duck:

but seriously, this is something that might be worth to consider, even if it slows you down when walking. Did you read Brookelizabeth's Christmas TR? Her FIL was in a wheel chair and they seemed to cope quite well with it.

... we can all understand what you mean! :goodvibes

All caught up. You are getting so close!! Can't wait to read all about it.

I can't wait to go! Good thing we are so busy between now and then as it is making it get here faster :thumbsup2

Broken ankle! :scared1: That should be interesting! :rolleyes1

I'm not sure that's the word I'd have used

:scared1:

My first thought and suggestion. SHOT down in a "don't even broach the subject" kind of way.

My only hope is that once they get there and "see", he will revisit his position.

Jeff is far more stressed about it than I am. I'm of the mind that if he want's to let his pride get in the way of renting a scooter then fine, he can hang at the resort or whatever. I don't think they get it at all and are envisioning parking him somewhere central? No idea what they are thinking. And I'm like...whatever.

Not going to let it be my problem. Which sounds horrible but that's how I feel!

I was wondering the same thing?? bubble wrap? Inside a rolled up shirt?? Do tell! Make mine kahlua!

maybe on the bubble wrap, it's a plastic bottle so not sure it's needed but I probably will, just to be safe. Have to FIND the bubble wrap but heaven knows I'm sure there is some around here.

Mary Ellen gets the credit, I am totally copying her!

Oh NO!!! Cynthia, that's everyone's dreaded fear!! Poor guy!

I know and what kills us is it happened two weeks ago and we are just now finding out!

I am really sorry about this upsetting your plans!

If he would only consider it, it would be just fine! My mom did one back in 04 and it was a godsend, she'd have been a nightmare without it. It saved our trip. However I don't feel the same duty to cater to his moods as I do my mom. Not that I don't care, of course I do, but my mom being crabby would stress me out. Paul being crabby will stress Sandie out. I hope that doesn't happen.

They are packing Gin. That should help.

:rotfl:

Hmmm, I have to see if I can find GG in a plastic bottle. Or any other vodka :lmao:

Sitting? :scared1: Oh boy! Those 4 days alone will definitely be great. You can get around a lot faster and see what you really want to see before Sandie and Paul's arrival.

3 more sleeps for you :yay::yay::yay:

I just found out today that my 2 aunts, grandmother, and cousin will be joining us (in their own room at SSR) for 6 of the days we're there. Talk about major itinerary overhaul this weekend!

I think your position is a great one to have. He is a grown-up, and if he doesn't want to listen to suggestions, then you shouldn't worry. He will figure something out. This vacation has been too long in the making for you to let his stubbornness get in the way of you having a great time! :goodvibes

I'm sure you can find something in plastic. We had to get the big bottle for that 2 work but it is for 2 weeks. What I found, interestingly enough was many of the pints and gallons were in plastic, not the fifths. Go figure. Need to go add tonic to my grocery order for Sandie! I was speaking with my sister yesterday at my brothers 40th birthday party and they took 4 bottles with them to Fiji on their honeymoon (the one who just got married). 3 out of the 4 were plastic other one was glass and with bubble wrap they did fine.

She did say they brought way too much.
:scared1:

Yikes! Yours is so close, were you able to overhaul much?:rotfl: I was like FOUR bottles?
