Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

HI Cynthia! I've gone through the itin. and like everyone else, I'd say the 12th may be too tight- a lot too tight. I'd say move it to the 14th, but then again, you've got lots of other great input here from the others. I will say, that only an hour or so in the park is only enough to really hit TSM and POSSIBLY ONE other thing, making going at all before a 10:00 ADR not worth it to me. :confused3

I"m bummed you're having issues with getting some of your ADRs!! I'd say keep trying though, tons of people change all the time.

We will be a party of 10 in October and we were lucky to get most of the ressies close to the time I wanted !! Our TA did great !!

I'm not sure what you mean about moving what to the 14th, the breakfast? We could, my issue with that is if we do the ranger tour and then pictures we couldn't really do a breakfast/brunch reservation until probably 11:30 and I'll be getting antsy to get over to the YC and check on the room assignment situation. Leaning towards cutting it entirely right now, my concern (other than the TSM mess) is that despite being at WL and a boat ride away, it's not very MK focused and it should be.

LOL! Well I HAD my dream agenda and ADR's but with Sandie and Paul making their changes and us making a resort change I had to rebook almost everything and it's really high crowd levels so....there you go I guess.

Ok so the whole wanting to swap locations later in the week aside (as that's really an ADR issue) I wanted to post a suggest tweak to the first half of the trip.

Does this look better?

This gets rid of 1900 entirely, tweaks the times a bit all around but does add in some MK time on the 12th. Which may seem a little nuts and is a "worst" day BUT I keep looking at this and thinking there isn't enough MK time, given that we are right there and given that we all felt robbed of enough MK time last year.

Better?

Also, on the early times, honestly if not everyone wants to go, that's ok, I can leave teens in bed. :rotfl: That said I am, with this, trying to force the time change.

Ok, Option A, or Option B?

MUCH! Much better! More breathing room everywhere! I like the flex time you've built in at several places! :thumbsup2

The ranger tour is 1hr 15 mins. I am sure you can bow out early if you need to start your photo session. The last 15 mins of the tour is actually the villas. That would be a good time to break. I don't want to tell you too much about the tour, but the villa stuff is pretty interesting because the villas were actually designed around a later 1700's round house. Its definitely appropriate since Walt was so into trains and some of his actual trains are housed in the villas.

Yep, feels better. And saved myself an OOP meal. Have some options for the 2nd part but am not sure what Jeff and Sandie will think, it's a little out of the box for us.

I'm sure I can move the photo session to 10:30 or later, they were wide open!
I am getting SO excited for this tour Mary Ellen!

:)

For the Yacht Club days, I've broken the options out into A and B

A is the plan I posted yesterday which is:

OPTION A – 5 sit down dinners.
One full day at each part (scheduled as 4 half days).
Pro’s – good dinner reservations
Con’s – not all are close to the parks we will be at so more time spent in transportation

Here is Option B
There is a lot I like about it BUT the sit down lunch idea may be a hard sell as will be the early start times. I have tried and tried for other dinner options and it's just a mess. I could get ONE 4-top at 9m on the 18th at Captains Grille. BLEH.

OPTION B – 3 sit down dinners, 2 sit down “late” lunches
Full days at all parks except Animal Kingdom (scheduled as half days). One “free” half day open

Pro’s
– good reservations, closer to the parks we will be at, less time in transportation and more park time. Inside AC restaurants for lunch in middle of day 2x. Leverages EMH hours a bit better.

Con’s – heavy meal in middle of day

:rotfl:

and jsut in case you thought this was it...check out Option C

Oh yeah, I like the WL days MUCH better. Totally. I think it makes better sense (and if you are tired of Roaring Forks, you can do lunch at DHS, but I am not sure there are that great of options... we have eaten there a couple of times, but that is if they want to stay at the park longer... but I like these much better all around!! :thumbsup2

I am with All7ofUs -- I bet you can still get that dinner ressie for Sanaa or something even still. It might happen... I really made an effort to cancel all my extra ADRs so people could have them, I know not everyone does... but I think plenty of overbooks get cancelled... if you can get at least one for 4 r 6 then maybe you can mae the request for the rest of your party at the actual reservation desk... I know you will like Sanaa.

Have not studies the YC days yet... :surfweb:

Yeah, I'm not worrying about CS lunch, we will figure it out. There is Fairfax Fare at DHS, figure we will just play it by ear to see how hungry folks are. It will also depend on if we do lunch on day one at RF, if not we won't have had lunch there so people will probably want it...poolside :)

Well the problem is that's not just Sanna. If I switch that, other things have to move (namely Captain's Grille) and they are equally as difficult to rebook. When I've been able to find tables for 4,it's just one and then there isn't another one at nearby time so....

We will see. I've done a LOT of playing around with those 3 days (16-18) and it is amazingly inflexible with our chosen restaurants.

I have canceled most of my extra ADR's. Not all, but most!

I really like the late lunches! That's one thing I realized over my last trips that it is actually really nice not to have a dinner scheduled, but just be free to enjoy the evening and eat whenever you want to. And I would not worry about the big meal in the middle of the day, the restaurant will be cool with the AC anyway and all the running around in the morning should make everyone hungry.

I think the revised plan looks much better than the one before - I would have agreed with everyone concerns that there was too much running around. But the new plan with the late lunches makes the whole trip look much more relaxed!

Is having a meal at Captain's Grille really that important to the group? Because it seems to muck up the works.

Suggestion time: cancel Captain's Grille outright and add a sit down (TS) breakfast this morning. Several of the deluxe resorts have non-buffet breakfasts that are worth a dining credit.....Grand Floridian Cafe and Captain's Grille both have steak and eggs and other higher end items on the menu.
My brain hurts

:rotfl:

I'm just curious.....any regrets with going with the dining plan and having to schedule in those TS meals?

Looks like you are hitting every morning EMH there is...... I hope you make it :cheer2:

Again, I don't know how you did it :worship:
The only thing that really sticks out is all of the morning EMH. Will everyone in your group be able to get up that early? Or will you just meet anyone that wants to sleep in the park later?

I've been doing some YC research. Is there a reason people pick YC over BC?

I am getting SO excited for this tour Mary Ellen!

:)

I hope you love it. It was really one of the highlights of my trip because it was so unexpected and the ranger's customer service was so over the top. It was a perfect example of Disney magic. I hope you end up getting a "private" tour. The ranger said that so many people miss the tour because they are so busy doing the park thing. He said he loves meeting people who are really "into" disney and really enjoy the trivia and the magic.

I think your plans look great. I think you are smart to drop the 1900 park fair ADR. It was a little too much. You are going to have an awesome trip!

I'm personally not big on late lunches, or sit down lunches in general, they make me sleepy but we will see what Jeff thinks. For me I either want the big meal to be a breakfast, or a dinner but...that's me. I just worry lunches are not the best use of DDP credits.

I do have an option C

:rotfl:

No, I don't feel the DDP is tying us down at all. Our list of restaurants we want to eat at, and free dining, is. I personally want one sit down meal a day, not a big fan of the CS options in general or CS food. so need to balance it out and it's a nice regrouping time for our family. Kids enjoy it, we enjoy it, everyone cools down and relaxes..win win. :thumbsup2

Technically I don't have the DDP for the YC dates yet, I haven't added it on yet. So I could still choose to opt out but don't plan on it.

Frankly trying to make sure we hit all parks once Sandie and Paul arrive is the far bigger issue. When it was spread out over a week we had a ton more flexiblity.

Yeah, we will see about the am EMH. With the huge pool breaks though I just see the park time dissapearing though.

I do have an option C.

Captain's Grille is something both Sandie and I really want to do, not to mention it is actually at our resort. But yeah, it's mucking things up. Option C cuts it.

Again, I don't know how you did it :worship:

well I haven't actually done anything yet but come up with a bazillion options. :rotfl:

I do think there is a reason people pick one or the other between YC and BC and I won't know if what I've heard and gut feel is right until I am there. What I have heard is that BC is a lot more informal, with a lot more kids. YC still has plenty of kids but is a bit quieter.

Personally I like the room decor (in pics lol) of the YC better plus all the YC rooms have balconies which is not the case at BC (most do but...)

LOL! this one would mean changes to the "new" WL plan so here is the whole week.

Pretty interesting, FD is definitely a factor, FAR more flexibility prior to the 15th....

OPTION C

1.5 days at all parks, two free half days

Pro’s – uses old ADR’s I held onto just in case. Maximizes MK time while at WL

Con’s – removes Captain’s Grille from lineup completely , Sanaa moves to day 1 of trip (WL portion) which cuts EMH a little short on both the Sanna and Tusker Day so adds an AM slot back in to make up for it. Adds 1900 PF to day WL 3 for dinner which works well with evening EMH. LOL. Chef Mickey’s & Crystal Palace are avail for dinner as alternative options. CP scored high with the family, just missed the cut (but is dry lol), CM and 1900 were not shown as options, the Wave bombed.
