Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

Since you've all put up with me during the bridezilla paper planning, shower planning and dress drama, I thought I'd share a few pictures of the happy event. It was a beautiful event. A crazy week to be sure but SO good to see so many out of town relatives.

A funny aside. I'd mentioned that my cousin's daughters team was here from Hawaii and we'd arranged a scrimmage between her team and K's before a tournament both were playing in. We ended up facing off in the championship!

They won.

The infamous invitations made from the paper I created

The same paper, turned into placecards/slash magnets and frames (I also made a binder and mugs for her shower, they were pretty cool!). Yes, my sister assigned tables with beer names. :rotfl:

The kids table was the root beer table. Of course.

A few family shots. No Tay, he had a youth group trip to Lake Shasta. Who could compete with 140 teens and houseboats? We didn't even try.

You would not believe how many picture the kids got of people sticking their tongue out at them, it was hysterical!

And last but not least, the head of the clan.

Next. A grey day

And that's why it's brown over there.

:rotfl: But I bet you have AC!
you are correct! It is dry, hot and brown..... washington states dirty little secret.:rotfl:

Average high in the summer is high 70s here in Berlin, but there are areas in Germany that are warmer. But we do have 80s and 90s here as well. We often get a very stable high pressure area sitting over Germany in the summer and then temperatures around 90 are common and can stay for weeks. On the other hand, we can also get the opposite... Generally July and August are our "rainy season"...

Also you have to consider that we are much further north than the US, Berlin is at 52 degrees north, while the US-Canadian border is at 49 degrees north if I am correct. But the climate is very different, influenced on the one hand by the warm gulf stream coming from the Gulf of Mexico through the Atlantic and then from the East, the dry air from the huge Asian landmass, i.e. Russia and even Blankistan, blowing this hot warm air to us. :goodvibes

I was once for a few weeks in Vancouver in 2003 and everyone said it was a heat wave, but actually I found it very pleasent! I imagine Seattle to be similar to Vancouver?

Oh, how I long to live some where that doesn't have the extreme temps, but I've lived with them all my life. Hot as Hades in the summer and facial hair freezing cold in the winter.....I want 70's year round...is that too much to ask?:thumbsup2

The invites are fab! And you my dear, looked gorgeous !

I LOVE all the pictures....LOVE them...

The pix with the family rock and KILTS. I forgot about your roots!!!!!!

Your nuclear family pix turned out great too. I love dress up pix....

I don't think it's a secret. To those of us who live here. :rotfl: It is half the state last time I checked! And it could be worse....Vantage. Vantage is worse.

I'd like 70's year round. We'd have to move to CA methinks.

facial hair freezing cold :rotfl: when I lived in Chicago we called it "snap the ears off your face" cold.

The invites are fab! And you my dear, looked gorgeous !

Awww, thanks! It was fun. A lot of fun. Glad it's over though! There was seriously something every day for over a week.

Well technically I'm not sure there is a nuclear family picture that exists...it's all a blend, all around. Which is pretty cool if you ask me.

My sister used my brothers kilt pin on her bouquet as her "something borrowed" which was pretty cool.

It does make one wonder what held the kilt closed.

Hmnnnn.

Of course we are in Seattle so even without the roots we did have one guest (who may be Scottish as well for all I know) wear a utility kilt. Which is actually a Pemco Insurance Northwest profile (some of my favorite ads of all time).

One of my cousins boyfriends. He looked rather dashing actually. Not at all like the guy in the profile!

It's a Seattle thing. What can I say.

I forget that you're a blended kids when you speak of K or T or to see Jeff with your kids....really...you're just a family....:)

Glad we didn't see your brother's lucky charms...

He can pull off that utility kilt....

Looked like a fun time at the wedding. Hey, anytime somebody wears a kilt...who knows, right?!

Evan's pictures rock, as always! So neat to see his perspective (literally) on things.

What a super festive looking event it was!! The invites turned out great!!! I love them! LOVE the magnets too; what a brilliant idea!

All of the family pix turned out great! The colors are perfect for your family!

I was cracking up at the one of Jeff carrying your scarf, but then again he fit right in with the kilt wearers. :lmao:

That "beauty" shot is fabulous dah-ling- very vampy. :rotfl2:

The invites turned out beautiful! WOW! So pretty!!!

I love the wedding pics! You all look so great!

I love the irish twin comment! DH and I joke from time to time that DD and DS are almost irish twins! they're 20 months apart!

I can't believe your trip is coming up so fast! You must be getting so excited!

Yes, we are at 47 degrees and Vancouver weather is quite similar although if you head out to the coast of both areas, into the San Juan islands, it is nicer, just incredible in the summer really. It's called the "banana belt" as it's tropical in comparison to the mainland.

Please tell me you had to look that up - are we supposed to know our latitude and longitude? If so, I'm clueless!

Awesome wedding pictures! I love a wedding with kilts. My cousin had one.

Man, you did a lot of work for those invites! They turned out beautiful, and so professional!

We typically have a seasonal drought here in July and August, will be interesting to see what happens this year!

Those San Juan islands sound great! I loved Vancouver, went out to one island from there (not Vancouver Island though) and we saw lots of Killer Whales next to the ferry we were on. We also took a day trip from there to I think Mount Baker in the US. And the friend I visited there took me on an overnight trip to the glass museum in Tacoma, andwe drove along to coast to get there. It was sooo beautiful! I really would love to visit the northern part of the West Coast of the US one day! :goodvibes

Awwww, thanks! That's a huge compliment. We are.

I have to say the men in my family can pull off a kilt like nobodies business. My brother actually performed the ceremony, it was lovely! Bagpipes would have been nice though.

I'm glad we didn't see his lucky charms either. Given that the guy owns 3 different kilts I'm guessing he had more than one pin.

Great wedding pictures! It looks like everyone had a great time!

The invitations turned out beautiful!!!

It was a ton of fun! Lots of work, minor drama here and there but overall just outstanding.

His pics crack me up! My brother turned over his camera to the boys (mostly Evan and one other cousin) for the night and the results were SO fun!

Can't go wrong with a kilt.

We are 11 months, so officially irish twins! It's been a crazy week of trip planning to nail some things down but it is finally starting to feel close.

Or closer at any rate.

Please tell me you had to look that up - are we supposed to know our latitude and longitude? If so, I'm clueless!

:rotfl: No. But growing up there was a restaurant called "Latitude 47" so it's always stuck in my head where we are at. No clue on the Longitude.

Thanks on the invites!

party with a kilt= awesome party no matter what

That pretty much sums it up!

You may have been in the Gulf Islands, I'd really like to go up there! You hit some highlights for sure but there is so much more. It really is stunning here, we are quite spoiled. Almost makes up for the grey.

:rotfl:

Okay I am going to catch up here and see how this all came to be, but I will say WILDERNESS LODGE is one our our favorites, for sure. Such a pretty place! But coming from the Pacific Northwest, I think that is sooo funny! I mean I too am very familiar with the theming, etc., but we still like it. Guess you can't take the Oregon/Washington state out of us !!! :lmao:

Have you finished your Spring break TR yet? That is how behind I am!!! Since June 12th!!! I have to get cracking on plans for Halloween at Disneyland! I have 3 and 1/2 months before we go -- I thought I read your report saying can't make reservations but 30 days in advance? or 60?
