Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

ADR's look good!

Have you done Raglan Rd before? We tried it in feb and it's one of my new favorites!....get the bread pudding!

You got the Chocolate didn't you.. But D Jay drooled over the Bread Pudding !!
Cynthia I am taking my ESCORTEES to Raglan Road in October .. It is one of my favorites , I loved the mighty mixed grill and the It's not bleeding chowder !!The Baileys dessrt is awesome too !!

Heavens--maybe a trio side-by-side: boking::thinking::current?:rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

I think I need a process flow chart to track all that!

I got behind again....:sad2: I need to go back and catch up!! But, I did manage to get a peek at your ADR's! They look great!!:thumbsup2 We've never been to WCC...I wasn't sure DH would like all the antics...but breakfast sounds good. We may have to check it out!:)

I don't know if there are antics at breakfast, I do need to look into it. I do like the menu and the prices! Right now I've canceled all of the duplicates from this last round but still have a few from my initial bookings until Jeff and I can go through them, maybe tomorrow night.

ADRs all look good to me. I see two mornings where you can take the tour of the WL!!!!! ;)

I need to ask about being flag family at check in, that would be SOOO cool! I spent some time on the WL resort thread to figure out my room request. I'd love it if a 2B villa would open up but not looking likely.

Where do I find info about the tour times? At check in? What time does it start? I want to pencil it in :) I"m thinking the 13th before our Park Fare breakfast, maybe a lazy morning of sorts since it will be likely a very late night?

I  Bread Pudding! Jeff would be all over a baileys dessert

I am actually at work so early today (due to excessive heat here in Berlin :sad2:) that I catch all the West Coast people with their green lights still on, how exciting! :goodvibes

I am pretty sure that I have heard about the antics at WCC being there for breakfast as well, but not as excessive as in the evening. I guess they have to be a bit more careful since people often are a bit grumpy in the morning, especially before they have had a chance to get their first cup of coffee... ;)

Well it's Disney coffee so you might need 2 cups before you could handle all of that.

:rotfl:

Yuck on excessive heat. We have the opposite here. I'm not sure summer is ever coming.

what's shakin?

Not a whole heck of a lot, sorting through pictures from the wedding and cracking up at the ones the kids took. Some seriously NICE facial expressions. And it's an interesting study in how people pose for other adults, versus the kids. I've never seen so many stuck out tongues, you'd think it was a Jordan TR!

I hope you'll post a few...:)

The WestCoasters are a whole lotta party! So glad you got to work early Magdelene, so you could hang out with us. Not that I'm a west coaster yet, but it works for me too!

Has it seriously been cold and icky, Cynthia?? I was hoping for a nice, hot summer so the tomatoes would ripen this year; I think Bek and Dad are trying to grow some. Usually, they are still green by the end of summer.

We were freezing here in May and were complaining and now we have temperatures in the 90s. And Germany is not built for that heat, we are a country where only few buildings have A/C! Not even my pretty new office building. Which is ok from an energy saving point of view and you really don't need it very often and I prefer having the ability to open my window when I want to. But there are a few days every year when it is unpleasant. Luckily this PM we will have the office summer party! party:

What is the average temp in summer? To me 90 is a fairly mild summer afternoon.

It's been teaser weather. We had such a mild winter and early spring that the late cool wetness has made people really crabby. We get a nice day here and there but it wasn't until 6/22 that we finally broke 75!

I was listening to the radio yesterday and they were talking about how it wouldn't be "bad" for the rest fo the week. And by that they meant high 60's. So not cold but not summer!

I'm scared to look at my tomatoes, if nothing else they've had plenty of rain, my garden is nuts overall. Tomatoes are hard here as you know, late August, early Sept if you are lucky. I do miss that aspect of Chicago.

:thumbsup2

Seattle isn't built for heat either. Average temp is low 70's though we do usually get our share of 80's in July and August which I love. Last year we had a week long heat wave in August, where it got up to 103, and like Germany we are just not set up for it. Very few houses have AC. It was pretty miserable.

And that's why it's brown over there.

:rotfl: But I bet you have AC!

Ok, right now, here is what I'm leaning towards, let me know what you guys think!

8/11 WL-WCC Breakfast (OOP) @ 9:25 Tusker House Dinner @ 7:35. AK EMH till 10

8/12 WL-Raglan Road @ 8:00. Epcot EMH till 12, likely Typhoon Lagoon day. Probably OOP.

8/13 WL-1900 Park Fare breakfast @ 10:30/ Teppan Edo @7:50 MK EMH till 2

8/14 YC-Tutto Italia @ 7:10

8/15 YC-Ohana @ 7:20 MK EMH till 1. Last night of "Nightastic"

8/16 YC-Captain’s Grille @ 8:15 AK EMH till 9

8/17 YC-Kouzzina @ 7 and then the Illuminations cruise @9 Epcot EMH till 12

8/18 YC-Garden Tea for the girls (OOP)@ 2:20 and then dinner at Sanaa @8:15 DHS EMH till 10.

8/19 YC-Cape May Breakfast (OOP) @9:10

Pros and Cons to this plan.

Pros. Got all the must do’s back in the line up! Added WCC OOP breakfast for arrival which will be perfect I think. We land at 7:15 so a 9:25 should be very doable. With any luck we can eat and then go nap if our rooms are ready. LOL!. I was excited about the POP food court upon arrival, Roaring Forks (though fine for lunch) doesn’t have the same appeal to me!

Cons. No F!, no evening EMH@ DHS. There is only ONE DHS evening EMH during our dates (which is just wrong!)

Have 3 OOP meals assuming we do full DDP. Since our credits will be separate and tied to the 2 different room ressies, we have to have 2 of those OOP the first 3 days. I really like the idea of the Park Fare Breakfast, and doing it from WL, but having it does add a pricey meal as an OOP to the lineup. I think Raglan will be the least expensive of those hence it’s noted as OOP.

I have a lot to cancel but am going to sit on this for a few days first. Funny thing about ADR’s. It’s still too early to make them over at Universal, they are 30 days out! I was able to make one for Mythos but that’s it.

Thoughts?

Okay, I was all set to comment on your first set of ADRs (well, not your first, but you know what I mean), but now I don't have to - these are much better. Kudos on switching to WL - that'll definitely be our next stay. So, no fantasmic? Or just, no fantasmic package? What about doing a F! lunch package? I hate missing that show - we had to last year and it was such a bummer. Won't happen this time!

So, you are nearing 30 days - I think I'm going to have to ask for no more changes! Even if a room opens up at AKL! ;)

Average high in the summer is high 70s here in Berlin, but there are areas in Germany that are warmer. But we do have 80s and 90s here as well. We often get a very stable high pressure area sitting over Germany in the summer and then temperatures around 90 are common and can stay for weeks. On the other hand, we can also get the opposite... Generally July and August are our "rainy season"...

Also you have to consider that we are much further north than the US, Berlin is at 52 degrees north, while the US-Canadian border is at 49 degrees north if I am correct. But the climate is very different, influenced on the one hand by the warm gulf stream coming from the Gulf of Mexico through the Atlantic and then from the East, the dry air from the huge Asian landmass, i.e. Russia and even Blankistan, blowing this hot warm air to us. :goodvibes

I was once for a few weeks in Vancouver in 2003 and everyone said it was a heat wave, but actually I found it very pleasent! I imagine Seattle to be similar to Vancouver?

Well here's the challenge with F! There is only one night that really works for it and that's our water park day. So figuring out how to make that work, with where we want to eat is almost impossible. I'm hoping they add a second show. I really want to see it but this is what happened last year, it's just awkward at best! No F! packages available at all. I didn't ask about lunch as we don't do sit down lunch as a general rule.

No intent on switching to AKL, I'm over that (for this trip) but if a 2b villa opens up at WL in the next 2 days, I might switch to that. Not holding my breath though!

Yes, we are at 47 degrees and Vancouver weather is quite similar although if you head out to the coast of both areas, into the San Juan islands, it is nicer, just incredible in the summer really. It's called the "banana belt" as it's tropical in comparison to the mainland.

We typically have a seasonal drought here in July and August, will be interesting to see what happens this year!

Wait wait wait. Okay now you are at WL!!?? Yeah clearly I have been MID (missing in Disney) !!! I have lots to catch up on after I left for NOLA and our Disney vacation! I can't wait to catch up! It seems like you picked some new places for ADRs you changed dates too? I'll get caught up tomorrow! I love a good story:surfweb: It will keep me busy at work:rotfl:

Well just for the first 3 days. Still at the YC but without Sandie and Paul there, WL became a far cheaper option. Okay FAR might be a stretch but a good $200 less. It was also supremely complicated to keep 2 rooms over there, without them there since theirs is under their name and they are sold out at that room class. I probably could have made it work with a bunch of tinkering but figured I'd ruin any chances of connecting rooms with 3 separate ressies. And since they are now chipping in over at HRH I can justify the DDP for those 3 nights plus 2 additional OOP meals. Talk about fuzzy disney math

:rotfl2:

A bigger reason was Jeff couldn't deal with double beds, and POP for 3 days. Probably more the double beds than POP but who knows. He's MUCH happier with this plan. We'd have gone mod if we could have gotten CSR and queen beds but they were sold out.

Funny though as it's not like we are huge people but I have to tell you, after a week with K last year, in a double, I have to agree with him! It was some seriously bad sleep.

:rotfl:

At the end of the day though (I think) it's really all about WL being Jeff's dream resort.

Welcome back! I can't wait to hear about your trip!

We just went through all the ADR's and confirmed he's ok with the changes, as well as the grocery order! He has definitely converted. I thought he'd balk at all the breakfasts in addition to the dinners, 2 of which are character meals and he was all over it! So glad we did the Surf's Up breakfast in CA, I think that made a difference.

:cool1:
