Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

I'm just off to bed, but marking my place so I can come back and read your post tomorrow! I want to be able to fully enjoy it!

What a beautiful boat! The pictures really surprised me because I have been on cruise ships before & they are always grand. I wasn't expecting this to be as nice as it was considering how old the ship is! I really enjoyed reading all of the history too.

That is one of the things that I have wanted to do during our trips to LA but we never find the time to fit it in? How long did it take you to drive there from Anaheim? Oh, and I think it is so cute that they made the kids those special drinks. They probably felt very grown up. ;)

Great updates!:thumbsup2

DTD looked fun! Yay for fireworks! (even if they were the stop and go kind!) How fun they were so unexpected!

Fred the Disneydog is adorable!! Oh and the TRex in DTD has the Build a Dino. Last year the boys got to bring a couple new friends home from there.

Beautiful pictures on the Queen Mary.:cloud9:

Some of my favorite words. I'm afraid they probably appear in almost every one of my PTR/TR installments. What else can you say somtimes?

Not that it was far but it was farther than we ended up allotting time for. So we were running late.

And it stressed Jeff out.

Oh I can sooo relate.

In the meantime I was running the GPS on my new phone. Despite Jeff’s protests.

"I know how to get there!"
"I used to live here remember?"
"That is NOT the best way to go" (now he is arguing with the GPS)
"Fine, I’ll go that way and see what happens."
"Oh, they changed the exits"
"That was the best way"

Ha! :rotfl2: This would have been me! Poor Jeff.

Thanks for the Queen Mary history (I won't quote it). I found it interesting.

Ciderosa’s.

I love Evan's style/method of holding the glass. :rotfl:

Apparently I decided it was time for Evan to give me back the camera.

Hilarious....I love this picture!

My wife went to Long Beach for a PChef conference a few years ago and ate on the Queen Mary but didn't take any pictures, so thanks for taking us along.

Hi, Cynthia! I had fun reading your update today during my planning period. ;)

Right there with ya about the coffee. In fact, I already have it on my list to bring to HHI with us.

Loved reading all the history behind the Queen Mary, and the brunch looks delicious -- not to mention the constant flow of mimosas! :thumbsup2

I'm ready to explore the ship! popcorn::

Hey just getting back in the swing of the things.

Hope work is going well.

Love you and miss you. I'll try catching up on the mini-TR this weekend.

The kids loved their drinks. It's maybe 20 minutes? Jeff wanted 30 to allow for parking which would be more than enough unless you hit traffic. I think we got there in 15. the ship really was beautiful. It's a hotel as well, it would be fun to stay there.

Is it all Dino stuff or are there other BAB items? We had a great time on the QM, more coming up!

Whatever works almost as well as "oh well". :rotfl:

Right up there with

Sigh.

Evan asked me if he was holding it correctly, that was all his own doing. He kills me. For his birthday party we are going out for Fondue with 3 of his best friends. His idea.

Nice picture huh, sometimes they really do say a thousand words.

Attractive.

Constant mimosas are good right up until you decide you need a nap!

I'm not very nice, or coherent, without my coffee although it is truly more of a flavor/taste thing than caffeine. I could drink decaf (though fail to see why) and get much of the same reward. It's a comfort drink for me.

Jordan!!!!!!!!!! Love you too dude, you have been much missed. I am SO happy to see you :goodvibes

See.... this is me too!!! But I will admit, that shot of caffeine first thing, does help my fingers know where to go on the keyboard. :lmao: It's just part of my morning, and I miss it if it's not there.

Jordan, I too am so happy to see you back here. I think that means good things.

Nice updates Cynthia - Fredders the disney dog is quite the charmer. And brunch with the queen - yummers - both for the food and the mimosas. Looks like a wonderful start to your day. Great TR so far. Love it!

Just wanted to let you know that I started my TR last night. Actually kept West Coast hours just to get it going!

Ah yes, having mine right now while taking a quick peek at the boards before a very busy day

He's a cutie for sure, it was a great start to the day.

:thumbsup2 for west coast hours! Hopefully you aren't paying for it today. Off to check it out before heading out on my bike ride.

Oh very neat update on your next brunch outing! Thanks for all the info on The Queen Mary and of course Brunch is my favorite meal, so no problem there -- how fun, seems like a great place to visit on a vacation, and I can't wait to hear more and see more too!

I was just thinking that your hair looked really good!

I remember going on the Queen Mary as a kid. Why do I think I remember my parents telling me it was haunted?

Oh, maybe I was right about haunted?

Maybe you were!

It was very BIG...for my hair....lol

Brunch is the bomb! More QM coming soon!

If you guys can make it over there, I highly recommend it.

Hey Cynthia! I was thinking about you over the weekend. I ran across your Christmas card again, as I was packing up my books. It was tucked inside my Hidden Magic book. :goodvibes Hope you have a great day at work tomorrow!!

Ooh! what a perfect place for it!

I plan on having a great day! I survived bridezilla's shower and now have my MIL (Sandie) arriving Thursday so I need a couple of sane, workout focused days between now and then.

Actually the shower rocked. If I do say so myself. And bridezilla wasn't zilla-ish at all!

You ARE going to post a couple pictures, right?? I'll bet it was a fabulous do!!

It was a fabulous do! Thanks in no small part to a couple of Happydog's recipes (lemon ramos fizzes and limoncello cake)!

And my lemon fritters, apple tart (should have done Magdalene's strudel but went with that I know lol) and orzo salad :thumbsup2 And a bunch of other stuff that didn't involve actual cooking. Gotta love pesto salmon on the grill and antipasto!

it was one of those perfect cooking karma days...

Best part?

House is sparkling, deck planted and lovely for Sandie's visit! Love it. 2 for the price of one! Not to mention Jeff was a ROCKSTAR for the entire weekend. Somehow we fit in a heck of a lot around the shower (baseball practice & game, volleyball practice, a choir concert with the youth symphony at Benoroya for K, 3 different fundraisers including a family bike ride, take kwon do practice, kumon))and he really helped out with prep for it not to mention making sure they were GONE during it. Somehow the E's both ended up with new hardback books (so much for the new Rick Riordan as a bday present lol) Iron Man 2 and a great dinner out of the whole deal.

Working on pics. They were taken by my uncles wife for the most part. Jeff had my camera, he'd taken it on his "day of flight" outing with Eric and my mom didn't get hers out most of the time, too busy playing mother of the bride. But my aunt took a ton. Just need to get them!

I'm done baking for a while though. My forearms hurt. 10 minutes of stirring fritter dough + 30 minutes of brasso on all the stainless + rolling out tart dough= tired arms.

Pathetic.

You can see I am not a baker (kneader!)

:rotfl:

Geeez! Sounds fabulous! Everything about it!

Mmmm.... pesto salmon. :cloud9:

Someone sent us some smoked salmon for Christmas, and we figured last night was just as good a time as any to break it out. I haven't had fish or seafood of any kind since well.... 2 years ago. It was a teensy piece of heaven!!!

The only thing that could have made it better was more than 1/2 glass of wine. And for it to have been white, not red.

I can't believe how much you guys pack into a weekend!! No wonder you're exhausted!!!
