Cynthia--have I told you recently how great of a Bonus Mom I think you are?!? You truly have the best intentions for Kendall.

My daughter's occupational therapist yesterday told me how kids really need those sports to keep their core in good shape and that video games and television watching is really even bad for simple things like handwriting! I did not even think that, but now that I know that, I don't feel bad for "forcing" (not really, but sometimes I think I am) my daughter into softball season and outside softball practices. Which, by the way, will probably start again right after Christmas!

Aww, thank you! That is so sweet. It's funny you mention that. I took the E's in for their annuals yesterday and our pediatrician really spends a lot of time "interviewing" them to get a feel for overall health. Plus the fact that they are kind of scary skinny so he wants to make sure they actually eat lol. Some of what they told him they liked to eat was absolutely hysterical. I actually cried I was laughing so hard. Who knew an annual checkup could be so much fun!

The doctor was so cute, he got all excited because neither boy mentioned any kind of electronics when talking about what they like to do.

Evan of course was quick to reassure him that they do like them and play them sometimes but I have to admit it made me happy that it didn't come up naturally on its own!

I need to find something for Eric to get some strength into him, that boy has not an ounce of muscle on him and we worry about it. Nothing we try seems to stick. I know what you mean though, we have moment's of "forcing" Evan to go to Tae Kwon Do when he doesn't want to go and moments like yesterday really reinforce the why's. I don't much care what they do. As long as it is something!

Ok these really have nothing to do with the trip but they are part of where I've been all week. And so before I dive into zumba, shopping lists and the cooking and cleaning frenzy that is thanksgiving, here's what I've been up to lately!

First, my sisters scrapbook paper for her wedding invites. Still a work in progress but coming along. All kinds of "hidden" things in here...

Next, my other sisters birthday marathon T and the T design for her "ladies in waiting". I still have to make the man at arms one.

Her nickname is Queen Bee. Which of course makes me the Empress!

I just need you to design something for me. . .perhaps you and TK can put together tie dyed something, lol.

the paper is fabulous!! did you draw it by hand or use a computer program?

I love those T-shirt designs! How fun! I just can't keep up with all the threads right now, but I'll pop in and catch up from time to time! I love seeing how you work so hard to bring both families together for K's sake. I hope you can get the schedules worked out for your trip.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I love your new project pictures! They are soooooo cute. Thanks for posting.

I hear you about commuting to practice. In 9th grade Brian played baseball then went to Dover for soccer practice. I would leave work in Wilmington - drive 40 mins to school, wait for the Nazi baseball coach to release them (always past the 530pm time), then speed, literally, another 50 mins to Dover to get to the second half of the practice. I HATED that year. Even though I was sorry to see Brian stop playing baseball (because he could have been very good at it if that was his passion), I was glad when baseball was out of the equation. He just realized there was no way he could play in the baseball state tournament AND play in the soccer state cup.

So - Brian officially drove solo to his first soccer practice yesterday. :woohoo: It will be so nice this spring knowing that I only have to drive one kid to soccer and that's local!!!!!!!

Cynthia - I hope you and your family have an awesome Thanksgiving. I am sure you are cooking something really amazing!

I take requests!

Pretty much by hand, or as much as "by hand" as you can do digitally. Long story but basically she found a paper she loved but its only available in a mixed pack so she'd have to buy a bunch of paper she didn't' need to get it. So I offered to recreate it.

Except I tweaked all the background flower papers to have hidden meanings...marriage vows, key dates/numbers for them, names. etc are hidden in in the "filler" papers. We just did more tweaking tonight, close to final now!

Swing by when you can! I can completely related to not being able to keep up!

Thank you, it all will work out, it always does.

I hope you have/had an amazing day as well! we cooked...a lot! Hopefully some of it was amazing. Very few leftovers despite a scary amount of food. If nothing else, the prettiest looking pie I've ever made...thank to Evan!

:cool1: on Brian driving himself to practice!

I think Kendall will hit that this summer with soccer versus vball. It will be interesting to see what wins. On the flip side, so important to put them in the situation where they CAN choose. So in that respect, I support the vball thing. Completely. How lucky to be so gifted you can choose. I would have given my eye teeth at that age for that kind of gift. Oh well.

We are enjoying T being able to drive himself to things. Of course now we have to decide whether to, or no not get him a car. If K changes teams, we will be in that kind of commuting situation and I'm really not sure how we'd manage it but no sense in even contemplating that now, I'll cross that bridge when and if I need to.

Happy happy turkey day back at you my dear friend!:goodvibes

I finally had a chance to really sit down and look at your last update!! OK, WOW! I'm impressed! Did you design that paper yourself?? I just finished ordering some scrapbooking paper online (Scrapbooking Warehouse.com) from a designer named K&Company. I will just say right now, that yours (if you really did design it!) is just as good or better than anything I saw online!! How do you DO that?!!

Yes and no. LOL!

It's a copy of a design that my sister liked. It uses some digital scrapbook papers for the backgrounds of the flowers and main background (b/c I was too lazy to make them all myself!) but most are altered and customized. I created patterns I liked and then made each flower in that pattern.

The stems, berries swirly elements are all added in and not part of anything else, some freehand and some is art from elsewhere. So the end design is different but related to what I was trying to copy but has a lot of hidden personal touches. So if you look closely at the flowers with writing in the pattern you'd find dates that are meaningful to them, that kind of thing.

We tweaked it tonight so I have an updated version.

And um...I really have no idea what I'm doing, make it up as I go and I LOVE this kind of thing b/c it pushes me technologically. I've learned how do better deal with bloated illustrator files. LOL!

I love that you know how to customize stuff like that!! Very, very cool!

I"m sure she is appreciating your creativity a lot!!
