Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

Oh yeah....that OTHER Jack. You mean this guy?

That would be the hottie I was referring to, yes.

Dreadlocked, rumsoaked pirate.

I am sorry to be so late in posting. I read your last post several days ago and I was actually so speechless that I didn't know how to respond. It was really raw, reading about your prior Disney experiences as you negotiated the various twist and turns in your personal life. I'm so happy you are in a place in your life were all is good.

As for your FIL, I am also speechless. I really never expected that. I guess he may have had some localized infection / inflammatory response that cleared. It does correlate with how your FIL has been feeling, so I guess the infection hypothesis makes sense. Anyway - I am so happy for you and Jeff. What a relief!

I do remember a patient we had once who had mitral valve endocarditis with vegetations on the valve. She had been on anitbiotics with the expected length prior to surgery. When she was put to sleep on the echo probe was placed, the vegetations were completely gone. There was no longer a need for surgery. She was woken up and given the good news.

Thanks for the kind words about my story!!! My Mum was a very special person!!! One of the many things I got from her is a very "warped "sense of humor , as other family members call it:rotfl2:My sister, nephew and I can just look at each other and know how the other is seeing the humor in a siuation causing us to burst out laughing when others have no clue what they have said that could be amusing us !!! Hence the warped !!!!:rotfl2:

Great story, Rosie!

Raw. Yep, that's me at times. Probably TMI and oversharing. One thing I really did learn (perhaps too well lol) from some of the challenges in my life was to not keep it all in. And I'm quite sure that helped me get to the good place.

The entire thing with Ron is just really mindboggling to us. In a good way. The infection, as that's what it must have been, had been there for so long and was so large no one every expected it to go away on it's own. I do believe he'd been on antibiotics for a long time but am unclear. Jeff is going to visit him in 3 weeks so I'm sure will get the full scoop. Ron said it was a domino affect of little miracles adding up so it sounds as if there is more to the story.

First of all, that's such great news about your FIL!! I'm so happy for you and your family. I will continue to keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

Can I tell you how much I love your updates!!They are always so wonderful!! Thank you again for sharing them.

Okay, a cruise and a magical pin code!!!:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:

We just picked up TSM for the boys for Christmas too!! I think DH and I are more excited to play it than the boys are!!

I saw where he was just named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive". I guess the editors of People haven't seen the pictures of me in my trip report. Maybe I need a publicist.

I think you are the 4th person I know that is getting TSM. It's funny, I'd planned it originally for Eric but Evan is the one now asking for it. Go figure.

Maybe! However being named that has been called a "curse" so perhaps it's for the best.

Where to start?

I confess, I don’t have much in the way of trip planning stuff this week. It’s been nuts, but in a good way. I survived the auction (though spent a good 2 days recovering from it), my computer is mostly working (pretty sure I need to upgrade my creative suite so hope to do that Friday) and I’ve been muy muy crazy with work. Which is good. Really good. Good things happening.

I did have an odd thing happen. I actually had endorphin withdrawal. It was awful. Apparently all that Zumba is making enough of a difference that when I got buried between downed computers and the auction, my body went

WHOA! Wild.

I do have some very fun non trip stuff happening this weekend.

First up.

New Moon!

With about 10 of my friends, at an adult only theater that serves food, beer and wine. It’s a cool place. And they make a mean fried green tomato sandwich which isn’t exactly normal fare in these parts!

Next.

Surprise day trip to Great Wolf Lodge for the E’s. They have no clue. My mom has a scrapbooking convention this weekend that for some reason always has it there! They never go in the water park so only use their wristbands for room entry. They’ve upgraded to a room that sleeps 6 so the boys and I can have bands and go for the full day on Sat. They have been DYING to go there and will be completely blown away. I’m not telling them where we are going. I did have to fess up that we had a commitment on Saturday as Evan’s Tae Kwon Do Demo team has a performance (that I just found out about Monday..grr) and he will have to miss it. Eric is missing his soccer party (which he doesn’t even know about lol). It’s a no brainer, I know what they’d pick.

Other exciting things this weekend is getting Eric’s space derby “car” ready…not sure how we will fit that in but the derby is Monday so we will have to get it done somehow. I’m also designing some custom scrapbook paper for my little sister to use for her wedding invitations and a tshirt for my other sister for her half marathon in vegas so have been busy on that front but it’s fun fun stuff.

Now I just have to remember to order the Turkey for next week!

Trip wise…we’ve got 2 coming up! Jeff is off to visit his dad to celebrate for a weekend but before that we have our anniversary getaway to Vancouver BC via the train.

Disney trip wise…Kendall’s life just got more complicated. As if that could even really be possible, somehow it is. She is going to be playing club volleyball.

Sigh.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the positive side she is giving up the other school sports so it will be just these 2 (no more softball, basketball or track, none of which I will miss lol). On the negative, well you can imagine the schedule complications. Supposedly soccer will come first and the Vball team knows this and is ok with it but it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Vball appears (GASP!) to take the summer off but I’ll believe it when I see it lol. It is a lot. She has however juggled all of this and is a straight A student so…as long as she can manage it and wants it…we support it.

In concept. In mind, body and spirit.

However. This was done without our knowledge or approval. We found out after the player contract had been signed. And then were hit up to pay half. It is a LOT of money. A LOT. It is not a need. Her braces are a need. This is not a need. It is a want. We were not consulted. We are not going to pay. If that is how her mom chooses to spend her money, it’s her choice. We choose to do other things with our kids with our money, like vacation. We can’t do both. Their mom chooses to forego vacation, that’s her choice. It isn’t ours. She of course twists this to mean that we don’t support K. We do. But the cost of both combined is obscene and we can’t endorse that. Not to mention there isn’t parity between K&T and if we are to be spending extra money, it’s going to T towards a car. There were certainly cheaper options she could have pursued. So, enough of that, hopefully it won’t come into play in regards to our trip but it might.

All that said..

I LOVE VOLLEYBALL. This is a sport I played. I was not all that good but oh I LOVE the game! We actually think K loves the game more than she loves soccer and it will be interesting to see how that develops for her. I just hope she follows her heart no matter where it leads her, that’s all we can ask for.

So. It is what it is. I am determined to enjoy watching her play and not thinking too hard about the rest. It will be a whole new world for us.

Last night Eric told me, out of the blue…

“I’m going to dream about Disney World tonight”

Me too buddy.

I hope to get another page done soon, my goal is all pages by Christmas and then let the kids have at it with ADR choosing and menu perusing!

Next. A mini TR..The Wolf IS Great!

I can't believe the ex....but oh well, not much can be done-right?

I thought I had alot going on....

Wow! You really have been crazy!!!

I'm glad everything is getting straightened out with you computer!!

Sounds sooo fun!! We need a movie theater like that!! DH and I are supposed to be doing a New Moon date night on Sat!

Surprise day trip to Great Wolf Lodge for the E’s.
Sounds like so much fun!!!! One of these days we're going to get to the one near my parents in PA for a night or 2! I can't wait to hear about it!

I complete agree! How can you be expected to pay half when you were never consulted!? Awful!

Awwwwwwwww!!! :cloud9: I love it! It made me smile!!!

When you said nuts, you were NOT kidding!! WOW! Hang in there; the holidays are always fun, but busy for me too, but with trips, and plans and all the other stuff, hang in there!

Missed you the last few days, been crazy here too with sickness, and guests- which normally aren't supposed to go together, but did this time. :guilty:

Oh it's par for the course, pretty normal stuff actually. So is the schedule :thumbsup2 It's all good.

I don't do well with free time.

Really not any crazier than usual. The auction was NUTS but now that that's over I've got my life back to usual, whew! I am seriously considering not doing it next year, it was a LOT of work and I'm pretty burnt out on it.

Sadly the cough up the money after the fact conversation is not unexpected. Her argument will be that she didn't ask ahead of time b/c Jeff would have said no anyway. No matter what we will look like the bad guys, we just continue to hope she doesn't drag K into the middle (which she hasn't so far but it's a constant fear). She's tried to get us to pick up her travel expenses for tournaments with the argument that Jeff could go instead and we could make it our family vacation. :confused3

I quit trying to figure it out years ago. It's predictable. Predictably illogical!

I am really looking forward to GWL BUT honestly, Evan's behavior lately makes me want to leave him home. He's not even 11 so I can't blame it on tween yet. UGH!

Fun, New Moon date night! I am really looking forward to tomorrow night with the girls but feel really awful that I will see it before K. I really hope someone comes through for her tonight!

I know, I haven't been around much with all that's going on.

LOL. That isn't even holiday stuff, really. I have to survive Evan's next black belt test before I can get too stressed about Christmas. I did get the turkey ordered and the invite out so that's good. I LOVE thanksgiving! Now if I could only find my dream stuffing recipie, that's the one that eludes me every year.

Goodness gracious, you're like 12 times busier than me and yet you still make time to Dis. You're my hero! So, so glad to hear the amazingly good news about your FIL. God's handiwork, for sure. Your boys will love GWL, what a fun surprise! My DH and I need a date night SOON! We were talking the other night about where we might go for our 20th anniversary and our kids tried to invite themselves along! Um, no. You're such a sweet stepmom. Kendall and Tyler are lucky to have you. My stepmom is like you. She always encouraged me to follow my heart and I love her for it.

Oh, the life of dealing with an ex. I think she really should have consulted with you BEFORE signing her up for something if she was going to expect you to pay. I hate that.

BUT, I'm with Eric. I'm gonna dream about Disney World, too.

Good grief there is a lot going on! But it sounds like you have some fun little vacation plans coming your way...

I am off to see your Tshirts :)

How cute your son's comment about Disney dreaming...:cloud9:

FREE TIME !!!Could someone explain what that is !!!!!:rotfl2:

I could say a lot here, but I promised Cynthia that I wouldn't "go there". :lmao:

Now back to your regularly scheduled perfect stuffing hunt.

Yes, common sense would dictate that but...oh well! I'm going to Dream of Disney too.

Eric killed me tonight. My mom babysat them for about an hour while I was meeting with a client. He looked at her and said "Grandma, it's been a REALLY long time since our WHOLE family went to Disney world". To which she replied...but you just went in Feb! His response...but that wasn't with our WHOLE family...you weren't there.

Way to guilt my mom into joining our trip and he didn't even know it! They are considering it but are understandably non committal given that our dates could change.
