Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

The room looks very nice. :thumbsup2

I'm so excited to hear how your interviews go on Monday! And that's awesome that you got a request from another company. You're gonna be in high demand. ;)

I love the look of the new rooms as well. It still has a very YC feel, but mos def updated! we definitely enjoyed our stay there in 01.

Thanks! Nothing like a little ego boost right when you need it :goodvibes

I can't wait. The new look is so much like a favorite hotel of ours in San Fran that I just can't wait!

It's funny....over and over people talk about how much more causal and kid friendly the BC seems over the YC but I've never actually read a TR about the YC so I don't know if it's just conjecture or what. Looks wise the YC is very much more us, it's going to be interesting to "see" the difference live.

Things could be different now, but YC lobby seemed more formal with less people just hanging out. BC lobby seems more lively. I think that's due to Cape May being right off the lobby.

Well I don't expect we will be hanging out in the lobby all that much although the boys can't wait to see that globe!

I  the look of the lobby but I could see where it may not be as inviting to just hang out in.

The lobby is intimate and beautiful.

Intimate is part of why we chose YC, it's one of the smallest (if not the smallest?) of the deluxes.

When we don't do condo's we really prefer small boutique hotels over the big chains so were kind of hoping to get more of that feel.

I can't help myself. Really. I can't.

I caved.

Ok that isn’t EXACTLY what happened.

But.

Giddy, on a high from the $548 saved for the August trip + An unexpected birthday check from my aunt and my folks + Some good financial news on another front + a 30% room only discount =

I couldn’t resist.

We are staying on-site for 2 nights for the California Trip!

Paradise Pier here we come.

I’ve never even been IN one of the Disneyland resort hotels, just oohed and ahhed over the exterior of GC back in 2001.

I am like. Silly. Little Kid. EXCITED. I don’t think I had a clue how much I wanted to do this until I booked it and realized what I’d done.

It has a private entrance to DCA. Whatever that means. :rotfl:

You can see the DL fireworks from the rooftop (pool). I may not get any DL but darn it, I WILL get my fireworks. 2 nights worth of "Remember...Dreams Come True" hopefully!

It has a rooftop pool and waterslide that overlooks DCA.

My mom made me promise to do something “fun” with my birthday money.

And so I did.

It’s the best of all worlds! Kids fly free for the CP part and then PP for 2 nights at 30% off.

PLUS
Most of the rooms have a daybed so we could end up with 2 nights without kids trying to sleep in the same bed which will be better for all involved (of course it’s going to happen for 10 in FL so we should just get over it but still, I’ll take it!). I …do have the Eric/Jeff “sleep test” coming up, easing in is probably wise.

And…..
I booked a character breakfast for our last day.

Surf's Up! Breakfast with Mickey & Friends
The Surf's Up! Breakfast with Mickey & Friends is a lively Character Dining experience that features a bountiful breakfast buffet filled with morning delights. Snap photos, practice hula hooping and hang ten with some of your favorite Disney Characters! Feast on family favorites from the omelet station and let your kids create their own breakfasts at the fun kid's buffet. Scrumptious breakfast specialties include flatbreads from the wood-burning oven, grilled breast of chicken with roasted garlic sauce and signature chilaquiles with shredded beef, salsa verde and queso fresco.

Right now I am thinking of bailing on both House of Blues and Naples (both in DTD) and hitting the Brewpub on Sat and then the really yummy Italian restaurant Jordan recommended on Tuesday but we will play it by ear.
Weather and park hours permitting I see a mid day pool break in our future for our DCA day! Hopefully we can get late checkout on our last day to allow for a bit more pool time as well but I doubt it.

Park hours STILL aren’t out but I am hopeful for the Electrical Light Parade as it is showing earlier in the month. Just depends when they decide to pack it up and ship it to the MK! Looks like no Aladdin and WOC.

And Liesa, you weren’t totally off on the spreadsheet comment, I was doing that earlier that day …plotting cruise DVC funds. Among other things.

And now….to get through the interviews...after I run away for a day (maybe).

What awesome and exciting news! That's so cool. :goodvibes I think I've seen pictures of that restaurant on some California friends' TRs. Love the decor.

Very, very jealous! :thumbsup2

Fabulous! :woohoo: Glad you listened to your mother!

How fun!!!! Paradise Pier looks great!!! What a fantastic time you are going to have!!!

You'll laugh, but when I first started reading your update and saw the picture of the lamp, I thought you were going to say you found the Mickey lamp on ebay and bought it. :lmao: Your news is so much better than that!!! ;)

The character breakfast looks really cute and supposedly the food is pretty good too! I REALLY hope Goofy shows up but it looks like it's usually M&M and then Lilo and Stitch but they are deliberately non-specific. Evan would be over the moon for Goofy. Kind of funny that my first Disney bfast will be there, we've never done it at WDW! I am excited.

It's always very wise to listen to ones mother! :thumbsup2 She will be pleased.

Well I was on ebay yesterday. :rotfl:

It's an awfully cute lamp but wouldn't really fit in my house.

It is my favorite thing in the rooms though! I am very excited about this, and pleasantly surprised how fine Jeff was with the idea of a split stay. I think because neither of us are looking at this as a "resort" stay kind of trip it was like...why not?

49 days!!!!!!!!!! We really need to get away.

Oh wow - really? Is that because you guys tend to stay up later and don't make it out early enough for breakfast? So many great places for breakfast at WDW.

One word.

Teenagers.

:rotfl:

I know there is a ton of wonderful places for bfast but with the gang on west coast time we were lucky to make to the parks by 11!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have improved their wake up times in the last 6 months, dramatically so, I can only hope it lasts!

Granted, we did eat at the cabin before heading out but it was a light breakfast for those who were up and the teens didn't eat until lunch. I am really hoping that with the red eye this time that we can make it to a sit down breakfast at least once. I do have 2 reservations but both at our resort which should improve our chances!!!!!!!!
I really

That's awesome that you'll be staying on-site a couple of days. Can't wait to hear about it and see some photos.

Since you're posting this today, I take it you didn't make a dash up to Vancouver.

Oh those pictures have me ready to get my bags packed! You guys are going to have such fun!
I think we are going to have refurbed rooms at BWV too!
