Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

That's a lot of change! It's great that you are saving money.
I wonder if Disney is going to keep the FD promotion going much longer.

Well since they did the bounce back I imagine so.

Jeff is so "up to here" with Chase right now it's just as well, the idea of putting money on a Chase card to get FD early with the Disney Visa doesn't sit well, even if it's for 2 minutes.

I think that's how my TA felt.

My head is spinning!

So were the CM's at CRO apparently!

Having over $500 guaranteed savings is no small potatoes! YOu are such a smart cookie with all this stuff. but then again, I"ve never had such a complicated ressie to have to figure it all out with either. Big group+ multiple places+ multiple ages+ multiple styles of touring = 1 Big Fat Headache. But you seem to be navigating it all very well!! :worship:

smart...or desperate? You decide.

I will say this, it's not the first trip this complicated and will definitely not be the last so I don't really think of it as being all that complicated. You have a family of 7...it's not really any different. It is frightening to think what this monster would cost at full price though! Bad enough as it is. Hopefully the flight gods will be with me.

The kids will probably like USF and IOA at the end of the trip better....

You know, the teens very well might. I hadn't thought about it that way but one thing I do know...assuming Sandie and Paul don't go, very selfishly I love the idea of a smaller group at the end to decompress, than the start!

I'd love to do the tea. It looks great.

As I have my DS11 who eats like a bird, it irks me to have have to pay adult prices for him (really $30 bucks for a chicken finger, some plain white rice, a bun, three pieces of fruit and a cookie?) so we're doing a split stay half on the DDP and half off. So I love your one room on and one room off. I'm banking that for my next trip with extended family.

I get that you wanted to end your vacation at Disney. It's the part you're most looking forward to. I think the teens enthusiasm (did I just say teen and enthusiasm in the same sentence?) will rub off and you'll be fine. The HR looks lovely. I've only ever done one day outside of Disney before (Seaworld) but looking forward to Universal (and Harry Potter) for our next big trip. The one with the extended family I mentioned.

Sounds like the folks at HRH really want to give you that upgrade:thumbsup2

I can see why you'd want to keep Disney at the end of the trip, but honestly - $548 is quite a bit of cash - I think you made a wise decision!

Oh don't get me wrong, I am very excited for the Hard Rock and IOA/WWHP and it will be fabulous. It's really not that big of a deal, I was more hung up on the free dining.

DS10 and 9 "can" eat the adult sized portions, no problem. They don't always need to but would like to. I'm just not into paying $30 for a buffet for a 9 year old if I don't have to. Evan will be 11 by the trip though so we'll have to eat it there. In a way this is better. Evan really wants the "big" menu all the time and if he had free reign on adult DDP it could just aggravate the arguments and negotiations we already have with him every time we go out. This will just keep him in a certain budget but give him more flexibility than just the kids menu. Right now it works well for the E's to split an adult entree, salad and a dessert. Which would cost less than having one on the kid plan and one on the adult and still let them both get a full CS.

Not to mention the fact that the plan gives the adults a n/a drink that we don't use and give to the kids. I think it's going to be great!

Thanks, I feel really good about it and really like the touring plan a lot better all around.

My head is definitely spinning!!! But...YAY for saving money! How wonderful is that and all it took was switching things around some. It definitely pays to look into things a little more especially when it can save you $548!!!:woohoo:

Your new ADR's look great!! and it sounds like you are much happier with what you got! I definitely agree that switching Ohana's from the first night was a good idea. You never know about late arrivals, etc., and it's usually such a hard ADR to get.. you would hate to have to cancel.:sad2:

I think your brain needs a nap, Cynthia! :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

I can't nap. Oh I wish I could but it is a skill that eludes me

Saving money is always good. You are really looking at it from all possible angles.

probably to my detriment and my husbands great amusement

Well I always knew those dates were cheaper over there, but had discounted it due to free dining. Figuring out a different solution really opened up the choices.

I am so much happier with our ADR lineup and yes, feel much better about moving Ohana, you do never know! Interestingly Tusker is by far the hardest for my dates, it's gone already so that one was NOT moving.

Is Tusker really harder to get than 'Ohana?? WHat is the draw there. I know practically nothing about that one.

I think it's a good move to do 'Ohana on a night other than Paul and Sandy's arrival. Like you say, you never know. Airlines are fickle things.

Well right now it is. I can see it for breakfast (though I'd think they'd be equal) but am surprised by dinner. I knew it was popular but didn't really expect it to go so quickly at 180 days out.

Part of it is simply the hours I imagine, AK typically closes at 6 so other than EMH there just aren't a lot of true "dinner" hours available.

Hopefully it's good!

for those of you that may not have seen the updated YC rooms, I thought I'd share.

I LOVE the new look to the rooms, so bright, airy and crisp and can't wait to stay in one!

Coming soon....Surf's Up!

Love the updated plans and photos. That was complicated! But I'm glad you worked it all out! Can't wait to see your photos & hear your thoughts on YC.

i love the new rooms! I love a white beadspread!

ADR day officially launched the BFP_HRH_YC.v1
And yes, in less than one weeks time we have made a substantial change.
We now have the BFP_YC_HRH.v1

Talk about FDM!

We saved $548!!!!!!!

So our new BFP is…..

YC 8/12-8/19. One room on the DDP and one room off. The cost of the DDP went up by $5 a person as we are now in peak rate season but since we are doing one room off it really didn’t matter and the HRH savings more than washed that out.

HRH 8/19-8/22, garden view. I will call to get the upgrade added to our room, fingers crossed on speaking to the fabulous Tara who was like, what do you want? Pool, deluxe? LOL!

This of course meant redoing the ADR’s....

Holy Switcheroo, Batman!!! :rotfl:

I can't believe that I missed all the changes! You sound really happy with everything, so it will be worth it, I'm sure!

What a TR this is going to be!!

Kathy

$548 is a great savings for doing the switcheroo! Good job! And now you no longer have the pressure of free dining looming overhead....will it....won't it? :confused3 I think your plan to start at YC actually makes sense. WDW is home to you, but when its time to leave you still have another minivacation to look forward to. Great planning!

White is so clean and light looking!!

Surf's up??!! :confused3 Definitely intrigued....

BTW, how's your prep going for your interview on Tues??

aren't they pretty!

i love the new rooms! I love a white beadspread!

Oh me too, I'd like to have one actually but then I'd have to wash it.

I am really happy with it, actually like it much better!

The room is beautiful. I love the colors.

I think they are my favorite rooms by far for the deluxes.

Of course I haven't actually stayed in any of them so all I can really say is they are my favorite pictures of rooms.

What a great way to put it! I hadn't thought about it that way but I have to admit I am excited to go to WDW first and not have to wait the three days! Plus there is a lot of comfort in knowing what to expect right upon arrival versus the wild card that US will be.

I am glad to not have to think about the will it won't it question for sure, when those rooms opened up at the YC for the earlier dates it just seemed to all fall into place.

Beautiful new rooms at the Yacht Club -- I like them so much better than the old ones (at least from the pictures I have seen).

Me too! I can't wait to see them live

Yep! Surf's up :goodvibes

Interviews are on Monday and prep is going well. I have a little more to do but am feeling pretty good. I was able to get a hold of a lot of previous work through a contact so am super pleased about that.

I also heard from another company yesterday requesting an interview which was nice timing:thumbsup2
