Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

Wow Cynthia - That's great news! We owe taxes this year for the first time... :sad2: Luckily it's also bonus season so we'll be OK. But if it weren't for that, or if DH hadn't earned the full 100% bonus, we'd probably be taking a closer look at our upcoming vacation.

Good Luck with the 2nd interview. I really hope it all works out for you. pixiedust:

Piper's shirts are very cute! I know she will enjoy wearing her penguin shirt to Sea World.

Wow, Cynthia, this job opportunity sounds fantastic!!! I really hope you get it since you want it so much!!! Lots of pixie dust headed your way!!! :wizard:

Good luck with the second interview. I hope you get the job.
And I hope none of your vacation plans have to change :goodvibes

Drinking around the WS with a girlfriend sounds pretty fab to me!

Yes, my ADR date is in 2 weeks! I do plan to try the online system. Still waiting on park hours though. It only shows through the 9th right now

Denise and I were planning our trip over pomegranate margaritas tonight :)

I used the online system for our July ADRs and it's fantastic!
Park hours for August are up :yay:

I'm going to spendy this snowy weekend in bed, figuring out when we want to eat at each place. Then fax it all over to the GF.

I may be two weeks behind, but it looks like I stopped in at a good time. Just in time to read about your job interview. I am so glad you really want this job and that the first interview went so well. It was the first, right? Now interview two is on the horizon, or was that interview two? Don't mind me....my reading comprehension is bad tonight. Wishing you the best of luck!!!!!!:thumbsup2 I've got a good feeling about this.

I love Piper's shirt....so cute....and the pretty puzzle pagers. Love them!

You can just (read) (hear) the excitement in your post!! What a great sounding oppertunity!! I really hope that it all goes well.

That's fantastic news Cynthia! We're pulling for you. I don't know what's on your resume or even what the job requires, but from the way you've described it and your desire for it, I have no doubt that you would be a great success.

Thanks! Me too :goodvibes

We have actually owed every year since we married and we keep adjusting things but...ugh! In this case, with the dramatic drop in my income we overcompensated the wrong way and did not have enough withheld and are both kicking ourselves for not catching it earlier.

I miss bonuses...this was my old bonus season too.

Good Luck with getting the job:goodvibes It sounds like you really want it and would enjoy it!!!

Thanks!

Thank you! I will take all the pixie dust I can. And a little bit of patience while I wait for the 2nd interview and then the "verdict".

Good luck with the second interview. I hope you get the job.

I hope they don't either. Realistically though I have a LOT of vacation planned over the next 12 months and I'll be surprised if something doesn't have to move, somehow. April and August won't be moving but other trips might have to go, be shortened or moved.

OOH! Those sound YUMMY! I've only had POM in a mimosa, not a margarita, I bet that's delish!

I was looking at the master calendar, you are right, the individual park pages are updated! Thank you. I printed them all out, adjusted my wish list times accordingly and am set to get online in 12 days! Really 11.5! What did you pick for July?

Hi Mary Ellen! Yes, it was the first interview. Number 2 should take place in about 2 weeks. Sounds like that will be it, just 2 interviews. Hopefully no one better came in today or is on their docket tomorrow!

I'll be doing a TON of research next week to prepare so I guess it is good, in a way, that it has to wait a couple of weeks. I need to immerse myself and it is really an unknown industry to me.

You can just (read) (hear) the excitement in your post!! What a great sounding oppertunity!! I really hope that it all goes well.

I am super duper excited, it is really very cool stuff and is SO interesting. Even Jeff is a little jealous! Thank you.

Kathy

Thanks Kathy! I'm trying not to get too excited or count on it but, it's hard! Definitely the first thing since I started looking that I've been truly excited about.

If they are trying to sell YOU, then I"m very encourage and you should be too! A good match doesn't come along every day, and this sure sounds like one!! Maybe it's a purely selfish reason, but I really hope you can go to both trips so we get some great TRs. :rotfl2:

Thanks Glenn!

It's a sales/marketing/operations role which is absolutely my background. However my background is in commercial real estate development, foodservice, digital media sales and this is....forensic engineering.

It's funny, my "generalist" background and cross discipline work has been hurting me in today's marketplace but it is exactly what attracted them. I do not have any background in insurance but do in contract negotiations, store design and remediation so that helps a bit but...definitely a stretch on the industry side. Depends though. If they are looking to stretch their client base outside of the insurance companies and directly to the manufacturers, landlords or the lawyers that represent them...there I do have some contacts. How translatable? Not sure yet.

I do have a software skill set that is attractive to them, including the recent design stuff. They are "just right" sized in my book from a company standpoint, about 70 people across the western US.

It's like CSI meets Mythbusters. Very cool

:rotfl:

But. Someone with industry contacts and a similar background will trump me. Didn't sound like there was one in the pipeline but....you never know! But on the flip side...I've migrated industries in pretty huge ways before, rather successfully and that's evident on my resume. So....

Oh I'm confident that both the April and August trips will happen. The cruise...that could be out, as could Palm Springs in Nov.

today's the day, we are about to head out to our volunteer activity. I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow :goodvibes

The boys think it's for FL vouchers.....:thumbsup2

Did you book the cruise already? Are you doing a land/sea package? Or just the cruise?

The POM margarita was so good. It went well with the avocado egg rolls.

Isn't ADR day so exciting? It means your trip is 6 months away  I'm organizing our ADR plans for August today.

For July, I booked Jiko, Boma, Sanaa, Chefs de France, Le Cellier, and afternoon tea the the GF. At least one of the ressies is going to have to go. It's probably going to either be Jiko or Sanaa.
