Shoe shopping is always more fun than dress shopping. I say buy the shoes first and build the outfit around them.

I was at Macy's today, total nightmare, but I did peek at the dresses.

Oooh I like that idea! I could do 2 of them with different pictures of all the different things we are going to do that adds up to a snapshot of the whole trip. If they each have a separate one to put together it would probably work better (aka no fighting over what piece goes where!) No idea where you get one made or the right size but I like the idea! I could still make each of them a fun facts/journal to write in as reading material after they solve the clues.

I know Shutterfly will do a puzzle from your photos -- I saw it while I was browsing for Christmas gifts.

I like the idea of dragging it out as long as you can. My only warning is don't expect too much out of their reaction. I set myself up for that on our first disney trip and the kids reaction was a little underwhelming.

Good point. I was exceedingly pleased with their reaction to the Great Wolf Lodge surprise trip as well as the Couer D' Alene one and even one to our cabin. 3 small mini total surprises in the last 6 months and all were really good. Spokane/CDA was so funny, it really was just a road trip to help my sister out and now they think Spokane is one of the coolest places ever.

They were so cute for GWL...guessing guessing as we are driving and the airport was one of their guesses, I think they'd go wild if we really made that turn off and they didn't know.... we will see, I could be setting myself up for disappointment.

I expected a much bigger reaction to the August trip than we got but, we didn't make a big deal with telling them. Now that a week has passed, their excitement about it is just building. I think Eric may actually explode!

We are going 4/17-22

I haven't had the fried chicken at Knott's (and biscuits and boysenberry pie!) since oh my word, it must be 30 years???? Oh that is FRIGHTENING. I wish I hadn't thought about it. We will see if it lives up to my memories of it, which are spectacular.

You are going to love see Soarin there since- well it's California...

Grizzly River is a much longer, faster version of Kali...so fun...

the Aladdin show is awesome...

I like Mullholland Madness but you can't get me near California Screamin...well you can get me near it just not on it...

So much fun...you have to write up a tr for it...the whole trip...

have you ruled DL out then because of the summer trip...still have two words: Indian Jones...very cool...

you are all going to have such fun...

(not to go all cultural on you...but have you considered going to the Getty? It's really cool and you get to take the tram up...it's a great museum experience even for the kids...

Jeff doesn't want to do DL due to the August trip, somehow it's too much MK for him But I have a super secret sneaky plan to hopefully get at least a half day in on our last day. I find it amusing that DCA is ok but not DL.

I California Screamin' though I haven't been on it since 2001. I didn't get to go on very many rides on that trip due to my ex so am really looking forward to a do-over with Jeff! In fact, that may well have been the only thing I did at DCA beside It's tough to be a bug! Total disaster of a trip.

I've never been on Indiana Jones either! Pathetic.

I'd love to do the Getty and if for some reason we have extra time I could see fitting it in, great suggestion!
