Can you just take towels from your resort to TL?

Well, the pool towels at the resort are supposed to stay at the pool, room towels in the room. Could we take them? Sure. Would I feel wierd about it? Maybe. Not sure what the towels will look like at TL (the rental ones) and would feel bad if I lost them. But, it could happen if ours don't fit. I have some thin trasher ones from a vacation a couple of years ago when our cargo carrier opened while driving over the pass and the top layer blew out. We recovered the life jackets but not our towels. We had to buy some at our destination and they are pretty thin, crummy towels that I won't care if we lose lol.

oh yeah another question i forgot to ask in hte last chapter, did that mickey head sun tan lotion thing really work on her stomach?

:rotfl2:

nah, she rubbed it in after she made mickey. Would have been funny though!

WOOT! I actually forgot about that! I do, of course, being me, have it in outlook so a reminder will pop up on Saturday to check in for WL but that put a smile on my face Jennifer! Thanks for the reminder! :goodvibes

I am VERY torn about online versus not for the YC....and more than a little frustrated that for whatever reason, on the YC/BC resort thread I've never gotten one response to a post. Unlike the WL thread which is super welcoming....

Not ONE! I haven't posted much on either but still!

Odd.

I'm torn abour online check-in also.
I wonder why no one has responded to your posts. Unfriendly or maybe no one has an answer :confused3

I have no idea. It is VERY much more a BC thread than a YC so maybe that's why? Some people are on there everyday and it's like a chat room that I'm not part of but still....wierd. Polar opposite on the WL thread.

We took some pool towels from the resort when we went to TL this past June. It worked fine. Renting them at TL is $2 per towel, I think! Then we just returned them to the pool when we got back.

Could you easily tell which ones were yours? I guess I feel a little odd swinging by the pool, swiping towels and heading out the door...and then worrying about losing them. I'll do that before I rent for sure though!

We took them in a bag and pretty much left them in there unless we needed to dry off. We didn't leave them sitting out on a chair or anything when we weren't around. I was too afraid someone would come by and steal them.

I love your Day 3 plans!! Someday, I'd love to do a water park, and hang out on the lazy rivers on a tube. I"d go cold and wet before I rented a towel.

Nice to know I'm not alone in that fear! Good thought on the bag...not sure if I am bringing one big enough to hold that many towels....hmmn.

Ok, I would spend the two bucks over cold and wet. However I don't see cold as even a remote possibility in august!

I have heard though that the towels are rather crummy so that would get me a bit crabby....2 bucks for a crummy tiny towel....

Cynthia - I don't think I am going to get to this part of my TR until right before (or after) you leave. So I wanted to post a few pictures just for you. When you get to the WL this is "THE MAN" you want to look for. He is the one who makes it all happen.......

Ranger Joe - He totally Rocks!

Here he is on the Roof.....

IMG_4256.jpg

It is HOT as blazes up there so I recommend going up early, if at all possible.

Here's a sample of the view......

Remember, the roof tour is NOT part of the regular lodge tour, but Ranger Joe is pretty easy to befriend. He loves his job, so I bet you can work your magic and get a personal tour, You have 3 days to work it in. It was really, really cool!

Great plans for Day Three! Typhoon Lagoon is so much fun, and since it is shady, that is always a huge point in its favor! It will be so relaxing! :thumbsup2 Have fun having dinner with your friend -- it will be great to see her again!

:cool1: for Ranger Joe! I can't wait to meet him. That view looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! So sweet that you posted this over here, I was looking at the TN pics yesterday I think and going....we aren't going to get to the tour before I go! I actually have this noted twice in my tripit touring plan, once at check in

My check in list is
  • Ask about being Flag Family
  • see if there is any way to get a bunk bed room as one of the connecting.
  • Get WL tour info (confirm time) and meet Ranger Joe!
  • Rub Humphrey's nose!

And then it's on the plan for the 14th starting at 9am :goodvibes

Those pictures are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shady is a huge plus! Is BB not shady? I've only been to TL and it's a bit fuzzy...kids were 4 and 5 which is a higher maintenance age for a water park but I do remember enjoying it a TON more than I thought I would. I can't wait to see Julie! She is a big Disney fan so it's going to be a ton of fun. We've talked about doing a trip together before, almost had a few people together for a F&W trip last year but it fell through.

I love your day 3 plans. TL and DTD sound perfect!

It sounds like a very relaxing day to me, I am looking forward to it!

Hey Ladies,

Question time. I am planning to hop over the WL for a bit if only to see the Carolwood Room at the Villas. Tell me, is this tour free? How can I sign up?? I've GOT to see this view!!

I believe so, I wouldn't know about it if it weren't for Mary Ellen, it's not mentioned on the WL board, but it sounds like it's at 9am everyday. I don't think you need to sign up, just show up? But...plan to confirm all of that at check in. I mean Ranger Joe must have a day off, right?

AM Touring Plan - DHS & WL Pool
7am wakeup. Catch 7:30 bus to DHS. Earlier would be better but may not be remotely realistic!

8am - DHS@ 8-12 for EMH and then Rope Drop at 9/TSM dash. TSM goes down on the 16th so this is a priority! OMD as well.

Straight to TSM standby, get TSM fast pass for later.
