Liberty Tree Tavern chara dinner

We went this July. I liked it. Out of the character meals it was one of my favorites.

Now, my location may not be exact (I was notorious for getting us somewhat lost but that only happened when it was dark and I got turned around! :rotfl2: ) but it's near the Hall of Presidents. It's in the Liberty Square area.

We enjoyed it alot. The food comes in seving dishes-- as if you were at home. A platter of meat (I think it was ham, turkey, and beef), mashed potatoes, macaroni, green beans. This fater a yummy salad with strawberry vinagrette dressing, and then a fruit dessert. Nice and relaxing -- if there is such a think in the World ;)

We just booked our reservation for there as well. On the 8th of September though. The 24th would have been even better, that's my DH's birthday. We are actually celebrating his birthday while at Disney though, dinner at Whispering Canyon. Should be fun.

The turkey was okay. A bit dry, and a bit over-injected with brine. The flank steak was quite good---not over-seasoned, and tender. I'd've called it medium. It's hard to screw up ham, and they didn't.

The stuffing and mac-n-cheese are Stouffers. Not much to write home about. I believed the mashed potatoes were real, but wouldn't swear to it in court. The carrots were a bit overdone, but in a maple glaze, and so they were tasty.

The highlight for me was the salad---nice greens, not your averge iceberg. I normally am not a fan of fruity vinagrettes, but for some reason this one was really really good. The honey butter for the rolls was yummy too.

Last, but not least, the apple cobbler a la mode was good. Crisp, not gooey, and reasonably fresh apples.

DH and I have eaten here many times and the food is good. It's a nice "comfort food" alternative when you're on vacation! :) We like the mac and cheese, too! :goodvibes

We like eating there at dinner for the character meal as well as lunch. They have a nice lunch menu and serve a yummy cheeseburger.

It is a white wooden sided building with white rocking chairs on the brick porch. It is near the Hall of Presidents, Haunted Mansion, the riverboat..

enjoy!

We are celebrating my birthday while down there too - not sure what "big thing" we are going to do yetm, kind of like planning my own suprise birthday party lol

This doesn't sound overly appetizing. So, the question is...would you return? We have never tried dinner, but love the lunch!

We love the LTT dinner. The characters incluse Minnie Mouse, Chip & Dale, and Goofey. We enjoy the food (even the children do!) and the atmosphere is very nice-- probably the most 'laid back' of the character meals. We will go back next time.
Gppd luck with your choices.

Yes. I still think it is probably one of the better choices for dinner in the MK. First off, nothing is deep fried, and I liked two of the three entrees quite a bit. It's comfort food, a pleasant change of pace from what you are probably eating most of the time while there, the setting is charming, and we happen to like character meals.

If you want a serious meal, hop on the monorail to one of any of a number of decent resort restaurants. If you want to eat a sit-down meal without having to leave MK, LTT is a good value, and an acceptable choice.

As far as character meals go this is probably the most solid offering we've found. The food is good, not great, but very good. The atmosphere is a lot of fun. The characters are very interactive. On the whole just a neat experience with a decent meal.

We done the LTT on all 4 of our trips and plan on doing it in Dec when go back.

The food is not too bad (described above). I agree about the salad - I could almost eat just that. The dessert changes around a little (a few years ago it was an extra charge but is now included). The meal is family style (severed in big bowls and platters. They will happily bring you more of anything you want. I think the potatoes are fresj made. We had green beans instead of carrots some night. I personally don't like stouffer mac and chesse by DD and DH love it. The flank steak has always been very good. The turkey more hit or miss. The pork is sometimes more like a very thin cop instead of ham.

The character interaction has always been top notch. My one word of warning is if you book during a night time parade (Spectro) the characters "participate" in that and can't be in 2 places at once so you will go 20 minutes or so without them on the floor. We have wonderful pictures taken in the tavern.

We tried this character meal for the first time last month and really enjoyed ourselves. The food was really good and there was something for everyone to pick from. Our service was a little slow but I think it was just our server and not the norm. The sweet tea was good as well. The characters were great as well.

We also ate there and the Characters were a lot of fun, probably the most outgoing, interactive characeters we had at any meal. Chip or Dale, can't remember which, really gave DH a hard time and it had the kids rolling on the floor laughing. There were a couple birthdays when we were eating, they brought out a cupcake with a candle and sang to the birthday person.

I didn't enjoy it at all, it tasted like cafeteria food to me. Then again we had to wait almost an hour with a PS. DS had fallen asleep in the stroller and woke up really cranky. I may not have enjoyed any meal at that point ;)

We did LTT last Jan (with dining plan). It was our first visit but won't be our last! Even my, slightly picky, DM liked it! Loved the salad, bread, and potatoes! Yum!

The worst part, we didn't have PS so we ran there right after the fireworks and put in our name. They said 45 minutes. It took 1-1/2 hrs! :confused3 By the time we were seated, the restaurant was fairly empty.

The best part, since the restaurant was so empty, the charcters came around 5-6 times each-It got to be a joke-my DD5 had plenty of time to interact with each one. princess: :cloud9:

I haven't made ADR for this trip yet, with so many different restaurants to try, we'll probably have to do this one next trip (along with Spoodles and 50' Cafe)

38 days and counting! :cool1:
