Has anyone had a B-day party at Libby Lus? Every heard of it? My DD is having her 8th birthday party there and was wondering what to expect. She chose the package of a complete makeover, compact, create your own fragrance, and a glamour dog. Everyone in the party gets the stuff too. Anyone have a DD do this and did they have a good time? I don't throw kiddie parties at my house and I'm running out of ideas! LOL!

we've attended parties there. It's over the top pink sparkles and glitter and the girls had a great time! The group puts on matching outfits, gets their hair done up in one of 3 or 4 styles (pop star, princess, etc.) and a little makeup. each girl gets a Libby Lu bag to put her stuff in, the trinkets and make-a-potion (shower gel, vile perfume :headache: , lip balm, etc.)

the store gives me a headache, a lot of the stuff they sell can be found elsewhere for much less, but the girls have fun.

My daughter went to a party there when she was 8.(now 10) All the girls had fun. They did hair, nail, dressed up and then sang & danced. Really nice goody bag for the girls. The only thing I didn't like was the party was in the evening so she didn't have anytime to enjoy the hairdo after the party.

My DD had a party there last year and she loved it. The perfume really is awful though. I had to toss it when we got home. The hairstyle lasted all day on both of my girls.

I like bringing my dd there but would never do a birthday party there. I also wont shop while there is a birthday party going on. Atleast in my mall.. the store is small.. there is no seperate birthday area and its just nuts.. you have a msall packed store with parents all waiting around for their kids.

Glad to hear all the good reviews! DD and I love that store. It is kind of like the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique but on steroids. The party isn't til 3pm so I am taking all the girls out to lunch first then to LL's and then onto Maggie Moos afterwards. There is only going to be 8 girls so hopefully that will be manageable.

I had my twins birthday party there last year when they were turning 8. Everyone had such a great time. It was crazy, but I just took a step back and let the staff do their thing. Then we went down to the food court and pizza and cake. My girls birthdays are in August and we always have pool parties, but this is the one all the girls still talk about. Have fun!

My DD4 went to a BD party there...she did not enjoy it as it was WAY too overstimulating for her. However, my DD9 was in heaven watching the party. I think 8 (or older) is the perfect age to have one there! It does tend to get crowded, but I think it is the adults who feel it, I don't think it bothers the kids. I think it is a very nice idea for lunch, CLL and ice cream! Wow, very generous! Enjoy!

I would like my DDs to go to BBB when we go to Disney next month, my older DD would love it, but my DD4, is still remembering her experience with Libby Lu and wants no part of it. I'm trying to ease her into the idea. princess:

LisaNJ25...I love your tag....I'm a Jersey girl, I used to have way, way big hair! I live in Ohio now with 3 kids. No time for big, big hair anymore, sadly, it's a pony and baseball cap for me now...
In fact, my kids and I were just going through some old college photos and I have to say, they never laughed so hard...of course it was all about the hair...I said "Wha? you talkin' to me??" :)

just will add dd and all her friends have had bday parties - its THE party place!! Our Westfield Mall has a food court, and when they first told us I was in disbelief, but its standard operating procedure now -

While you drop off your bday dd - your dh, or friend, or you, scout out the food court, and then put those paper table cloths out on the number of places you need, add balloons, and of course plates, napkins and cake, when the Libby Loo part is over, the kids join you for cake and open presents...

btw, that's how I "earned" my tag - I thought that was what "pixie dust" was - after 2 years I finally decided to take the bag of glitter to WDW and loved dusting the CM's at Wilderness Lodge, and at many of the shops I bought stuff at - a few asked if they could have a scoop in a bag for themselves!! :wizard: Its addicting!!! :cloud9:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You spread your pixie dust on me! Very cute!

I do this type of thing in my store - Actually I have a party next weekend booked there..
The girls come in, and get to make 3 items (they choose the scent the color and add glitter) - either lotion, bath gel, bubble bath, glitter gel.. etc.. and they get their names on the items and a cute little bag for them.
I think it is a great thing for girls with winter bdays (like my dd!) that way the parent doesn't have to host all the kids in their house..
And how many times can you go to Chuck E Cheese?! LOL

We don't have a CLL near us at all... so i haven't been to their stores, but it is very similar to what i do. I think there is one in CT near my grandmother, so i might have to go check it out....... you know.. research and development! LOL

My dd had her 8th birthday there 2 years ago. Yes it is crowded, loud and hectic, but she loved it! All the girls were so cute and they all had a great time.
