We just booked on Delta and it said arrive in LGA and leave on the next flight out of Kennedy. So having never been to either airport I'm thinking ok, one is on one side and the other on the other side, must be connecting airports. Just found out they are an hour drive from each other. WHAT????? Ok someone please explain this to me as I am freaking out!!!! This may be Delta's last flight for us. We used freaquent flier miles. I guess this is how they treat their loyal customers. Any details on explaining this whole ordeal is much appreciated TIA!

Just spoke to someone that lives near LAG and she said, it takes maybe a 1/2 hour, even with a little traffic.
How much time between flights, do you have?

We have 2 hours. I needed to get some answers to this so I called the airlines and they told me it was 40 miles and said they provide the shuttle free of charge. I looked it up afterwards and it's only 11 miles and it looks like a fairly straight shot. I just have no idea how to find this shuttle, where to go when we do get to JFK and then if we have to go thru security all over again. The Delta rep said our luggage would be transferred but who knows, it doesn't seem likely with all this chaos.

Also, does anyone know what's up with Delta shuttle? They do not pre-assign seats? We have no seat assignment for this leg nor can I get one.

Thanks for your reply.

When I first started to read the post and see 40 miles, I'm thinking no way, 11 miles is more like it.
When you get the off plane at LGA, there will be someone at the gate, to tell you exactly where you have to go. I've seen the signs for the shuttle and it seems very close. Reading Flyer Talk, people seem to do this all the time without a problem.
Also, these shuttles leave constantly, I guess that is why there are no pre assigned seats.
I'm sure everything will be just fine.

Oooops..it's not the shuttle that doesn't have pre assigned seats, it's "Delta Shuttle" from Bos to LGA. then we go from JFK to MCO. Thanks for your reply.
