Letter regarding food options at the Fort

Last week I sent an e-mail to Disney and voiced my opinion that the food choices at the Fort for the quick-service plan were very inadequate. I explained that the choices at the Meadows snack bar were much too limited to make purchasing the quick-service plan viable. I then asked why wasn't the take-out meal for the fried chicken (apr. $8) from the Trails End allowed to be used as a credit on the plan, and I added that it was bad enough the campsites are not allowed to participate in the Free dining specials that Disney occasionally offers, but to make us pay for the plan and then not offer worthwhile choices will make us decide against purchasing it. This is the letter I received in response:

Dear Ms. chronic complainer (just kidding)

Thank you for the follow-up letter.

Our Food & Beverage team at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
is already working on adding options that address your concerns. It's a
top priority of the Resort's leadership to incorporate more Food &
Beverage offerings into the Disney Dining Plan. Because the team is
still working on logistics regarding dining locations, there is no set
date for when the new program will be available. Ask our call agents
about that part of the plan when next making your reservations.

I hope your next visit is filled with many more magical memories.

Best regards,

Steve Rivers

More than likely this is one of Disney's multiple form letters but in the long run I certainly hope there is some truth to it! Keep your fingers crossed that we get some more food choices!

Interesting... hmmmm perhaps they will build something on the RC land??? Nah! That would be too much of a good idea.

I think I've asked this before but don't recall the answer...what is in the building attached to the back side of Crockett's Tavern...just behind the game room? It has an old time saloon look to it. I don't know what it ever was...or whether it could possibly serve a use as a counter service location. I would think it could possibly share kitchen facilities with TE since it is attached.

A few times ago when we were at the fort I ask a CM what that building was. They stated it was just storage. I had a thread a while back and stated I would love to see some sort of saloon built there that was actually opened a little later that was for us tired and weary adults after a full day at the parks to just sit back have a cold one and possibly watch the end of a ball game. Take out or something like Roaring fork at WL would be awsome too at that site.

Good idea about the take-out fried chicken at Trail's end as a counter service option. Hopefully they'll take your suggestion.
