for all the people who are going to disney at xmas or any other holiday time.

Heres the scene:

Mrs A is going to book a ressie for a MK restaurant on xmas day evening at say 6.00pm.
She does not want to be in the MK all day from opening along with everyone else but realises the park will be at capacity early on.
Mrs A would ideally like to get up at a leisurly pace and arrive at MK for the parade and then stay till closing. ( She is staying at okw )
How does Mrs A stand with arriving later in the day if she has a priority seating and has paid a deposit ( Which disney insist on in the holidays) Will she be allowed into MK or not???
Then how would she stand with the deposit situation. Would she be trated as a no show and lose her deposit????

I have asked this question to a lady in the dining reservations dept and she told me I would be allowed into the park at the laTer time as I had a confirmed booking.
I canot be the only person who wants to know the answer to this. I have posted this before and had a variety of answers. Who could we ask at disney to find out for sure????

Happy xmas planning everyone!!!!

I have always understood that if Mrs. A is staying onsite (OKW) then she is guaranteed entry into the parks.

You are guaranteed entry into a park, but not necessarily to the park of your choice, if they close to capacity.
From whet people have posted here, they have been denied entrance into a park that was closed because it is closed to capacity, even with a PS

You are guaranteed entrance to a park, but not the park of your choice. Having a PS doesn't guarantee you entrance to a park, regardless if a deposit was paid or not. If you have a PS for MK on Christmas Day, you run the risk of not being able to get in and not being able to miss your PS. If you miss your PS, you'll be charge the deposit, even if the park was closed to capacity at the time you decided to arrive. If you really want to eat at MK on Christmas Day, you should get to the park in the AM, before it closes. When we were there on Christmas 2001, MK closed to capacity around 11AM.

If Mrs. A chooses to make a PS for dinner at a MK restaurant on Chrismas day, and if Mrs. A then chooses to arrive at MK later in the day, then Mrs. A stands a very good chance of losing her deposit if the park has reached capacity when she arrives.

It seems that Mrs. A has a few choices here. She can:
1. Make a PS for dinner in the MK on Christmas day and go to the park in the AM before it reaches capacity,
2. Make a PS at another park for Christmas day so that she can enjoy a leisurely morning at the resort and arrive at the other park later in the day, saving her dinner in MK for another day,
3. Go ahead a make a PS for MK for Christmas day, arrive late, and take her chances. She's a big girl, and if she wants to risk losing her deposit, that's up to her.

I personally would go with choice #2, but that's just me. It just wouldn't be worth it to go through the mad crowds at MK on Christmas day when I could have a perfectly wonderful dinner somewhere else that day and have dinner in MK on another, saner, day.

While it sure sounds great to have a nice, leisurely Christmas morning at the resort followed by Christmas dinner in MK, that just isn't the reality of Christmas at WDW.

Whatever Mrs. A chooses to do, I hope she has a fantastic Christmas at WDW! :D

I was at WDW Christmas 2001 and 2003. In 2001 we went to Epcot when it opened and then I had to meet two of the kids at MK about 10:30 AM. I ended up being the only person on the monorail as they were about to close the MK. When I told the CM I had already been in EPCOT and had to meet the children at MK he just said go ahead although he had a hundred or so people waiting at the bottom of the ramps. From the T&T there was 1 couple that got on in my car to the MK. They said they were one of the last two cars to make it into the parking lot. Once at the MK we just went right in after going through the security point. The rest of the group arrived later in the day and had no problem. They said it was closed again this past year but when I went there at 7PM there was no problem getting in. I think they oipen and close as people come and go and switch parks. We didn't get into AKL until 5PM this past year and then ate at Boma before my son headed for DQ and I went to MK. Both years I think they closed about 11 am and then by 3-4 were open again. I had wanted to eat at the park but wasn't willing to take the cahnce that our plane would be late or that the park would be closed so opted for Boma and then went for the parade and fireworks later. My son was happy as he didn't want to do the parks at all. Good luck with your decision. Christmas is really great as long as you don't mind the crowds. I hope to do it again next year.
