How many of these things do you get?

In my younger years (oh, boy, am I dating myself here), we got one phone book a year. One. It was a combination white pages (the front half) and yellow pages (back half). The thing was huge and was frequently used as a booster seat for the little ones at the dinner table (remember sitting on it myself on special occasions)

Now, it seems every time I walk out on my porch there's a phone book lying there.

The old book is now two books. White pages delivered in Mar/Apr. Yellow pages in Aug/Sept.

Then there's the one that is geared toward the part of town you live in (I get the "East End" edition).

Can't forget the "User Friendly" phone book that comes around every year. It's a competitor of The Real Yellow Pages, but, at least it's white and yellow pages in one book, with page tabs and large print (guess they've recogonized my advancing years and failing eyesight). Funny thing about this one--a lot of the numbers I've looked for, I can't find.(So, what's the point of the tabs if the numbers just aren't in there?)

Lastly is the newest addition--the mobile phone book. At about 6x8, it's the smallest book we get. Clearly titled Mobile Phone Book, it comes with a warning that you should not be using it in your car, because that's unsafe. (I guess they already know some fool is going to try to look up a number while driving). So, shouldn't they have given it another name? Like Too Small To Be Any Good Yellow Pages??

So, how many phone books do you get at your house? And do you need any from Louisville, KY? I have plenty.

We never use them. They send us four at a time... Yellow pages A-L and M-Z, Greater Houston White pages, and a book specific to our part of Houston. If I need a number I just get online to find it, but we usually keep the current books just in case.
