Let's share our favorite inexpensive Christmas gifts!

We are really trying to cut back on Christmas this year so I am asking everyone to share what they have received as a gift (not even necessarily Christmas) that didn't cost the buyer a lot but you were super excited about!

I find that I stress to find something perfect, but this year I want to keep the spending down-What was something that you received as a gift that you were thrilled with that was not expensive, maybe even practical, but you were excited about?

This year, I'm going to try to do the same for others!

On Thanksgiving, Bath and Body Works online typically offers Wallflowers and refills (scented plug ins) for $5.

The grandparents always love photo gifts. There are often free deals where you only pay shipping. However, they may start to diminish as we approach the holidays.

I love to receive candles and Wal-Mart has very inexpensive ones that smell great! I purchased three candles (Cinnamon Roll) in different sizes that I will wrap up in a basket purchased from the Dollar Tree. The 20 oz is $5.00, the 3 wick 11.5 oz is $3.50 and the 3 oz is $1.00. We dont really exchange gifts with them (usually just the kids) but I like to get them a little something. SO for a total of about $11.00, this is a gift I would LOVE to receive!

Hip2save.com is great for freebies. Alot of them are very cool things that would make neat gifts. Ive used that site and targets dollar isle to score enough body wash and goodies to make a beauty themed basket for my ma. Ive been using hip2save to find out about all the photo deals to get 5 by7s for grandma.

This year I already told my aunt If she was going to get me something I want a stand for my cookbooks that keeps the page open. I wouldn't mind if she could somehow make one but I believe one can be purchased relatively cheap.

I really want Little MissMatched socks; they are cute. My sister got me a bottle of candycane shower gel from Bath and Body Works--loved it. And, this idea is awesome: 5.00 Gift card to starbucks, dunkin donuts or any coffee house. Or, my MIL gave me 15 prepaid coffees to dunkin donuts--those were a treat for at least two months.

My sister made our cousins (ages 17 & 20) pedicure baskets last year. She used an inflatable foot bath put tissue paper in the bottom and added a foot scrubber, scrubbing soap, foot lotion, a nail polish and the toe separater things. She said it cost her like $10 for the whole deal.

I've also received baskets made with food items. For instance for my bday this year, my aunt gave me a 8 x 8 Pyrex pan with a box of brownie mix, chocolate chips and a brownie topper frosting tube. She tied it nicely in cellophane wrap with a wooden spoon attached to it.

I love to get knee socks! I wear a lot of tall boots in the winter & love nice warm socks underneath. I'm wearing a black & colorful striped thin wool pair now.

Starbucks cards are nice, kitchen gadgets or spoons, dish towels, good nail polish, quality chocolate, books.

One of DS's favorite gifts was a slinky.

It will be fun to watch this thread & see what people come up with!

My favorite gifts are the cheap ones! I love fuzzy socks, bath and body works scented oils, candles and body washes, lip glosses and nail polishes, ornaments that mean something to me (For example, one of my friends got me a martini ornament that reminded her of one of our drinking nights ) and sweets, like chocolates or cookies!

I like all the stocking stuffers, various $5 gift cards to places lke mcdonalds, or maybe a carwash, mens body wash, stuff like that. Bath and body works has great deals. Like 6/$20 hand wash for the holidays.

My gift this year to brother in laws and their girlfriends are dinner and a movie! 15 g/c to the movies and a $20 g/c to dinner. Cost me $17.50 each person. considering we usually spend 50 on my BILs and 25 on their GFs works out much better this way! I think its a cute Idea!

One year, I had a sudden, eye-ball-killing migraine -- on Christmas Day. I spent the whole day trying to participate, but ending up curled in a fetal position in my bedroom. I LOVE Christmas, so I was so amazingly disappointed to miss out on everything -- the kids opening presents, the meal, etc.

For my birthday the following year, my MIL gave me a simple photo album -- packed with all the pictures she took of that Christmas! It really was a fantastic gift.

I think personalized things always go over well -- fairly inexpensive, but something that shows the person has listened to something you've mentioned off-hand, or knows you'll love. (Same MIL also got me a pair of fuzzy Mickey lounge pants that are my go-to pants around the house!)

I like this, and add babysitting for the night for a couple with kids if they live close enough!

For myself, I had a friend that for 2 years in a row got me a small box of Gertrude Hawk chocolates and a teddy bear. I just loved getting that. The next year it was something different, then she decided she didn't want us to exchange gifts, oh well! I also love a nice candle (got one from a friend she got it at Walmart and it's still the best candle I ever had!) For my close friends that I do still exchange gifts with, I think I'm going to start doing a candle and box of Gertrude Hawk chocolates. This will be about $15 total for each of them. I had mentioned to them once about my bear and chocolates thing and one of them said "if it's not broke don't fix it"... so I know they won't mind getting similar things each year.

ArtsCow has some really cute personalized photo gifts that you can make pretty inexpensively (especially if you get on their email list for coupons). I'm making photo keychains for the grandparents and I might do photo ornaments, too. They are less than $5 each.

Definitely photo gifts lots of free ones online, gourmet food gifts and really nice beauty products like dept. store lip gloss or nail polish.
