The funny part was when I called my cousin to tell her how much Carter loved his gnome. She mentioned that she didn't think it could break easily, but maybe to be safe, he could set it up on a shelf in his bedroom to look at. I almost choked, then agreed with her that it'd probably be best to set it up in his room.
I'd also like to report that gnome #2 arrived back home in Maine all in one piece. I wrapped him in tons of bubble wrap and packed him in foam peanuts. Didn't want to take any chances! Again, tho, I laughed nervously when my cousin was telling me about how careful they were when unwrapping him and taking him out of the box. She even said something about thinking how awful it would be if something happened to the gnome after having traveled so far.

I'm certain they have no clue that it isn't the same gnome I kidnapped from their garden. Some day...some day...
