Let's say you kidnap a Travelocity Gnome and something happens to him- update post 84

This is hysterically funny! Thanks for sharing. Oh, and I'd vote for sending him back a piece at a time while you are still sending pix of his travels.

If you have a photo editing program, put the gnome up in the airbetween the performers (at the 4 o'clock position.) They'll wonder how he got there!

If you want me to do it for you, I can. :teeth:

I like your idea, but so far all the pictures have been the real deal with nothing done to them. So, my first thought was that I want to keep it all real with no trickery. My second thought was look who's turning honest all of a sudden.:rotfl2: The person that is sending back a gnome impostor.

I'm not ready for the gnome to go back home. Please reconsider and keep him traveling.

Believe me, it's time for gnomie to go back to his spot in my cousin's garden! I'm sure this won't be the end of his adventures, though. My cousin and her husband will probably take him along on a few of their own trips.

I've enjoyed all the funny suggestions on this thread! The song lyrics are very funny!:rotfl:

A funny story and a few more pics. On our way to Las Vegas, my husband and I stopped at a diner on Route 66 in Kingman, Arizona. I had read in a local magazine that Oprah Winfrey had stopped at this diner a few years ago when she was on a road trip with her friend, Gayle. Oprah liked the root beer so much (special recipe of the diner) that she ordered 17+ cases of it for her studio audience.

We took the gnome in with us while we ate lunch and the owner of the diner saw me taking a few pictures of him. She wanted to know all about him and insisted that we get a picture of the gnome with her and a few other employees. This was the first time that someone asked to have their picture taken with him rather than us asking them.:rotfl: The owner said that if I sent her a copy of the picture, she would frame it and put it up in the diner. Here are some pictures from the diner.

Check this out, Oprah! Mine, all mine!

Ah, delicious root beer!

Yup, I'm kind of a big deal in Kingman, Arizona!

So, if you're ever in Kingman, Arizona on Route 66, stop by Mr. D'z Diner and see the gnome's picture with his new friends. Ha! Ha!

My older daughter, grandson and I took a trip to Phoenix yesterday and took gnomie along with us.

We stopped at Picacho Peak, mainly because I wanted to stop at the Arizona Nut House. I SO wanted a t-shirt from that place.:rotfl:

However, it was closed and didn't look like it had been in business for quite a few years. Ah, nuts! So, I took a few scenery shots of the area.

So...most vacation pictures = boring.
Gnome vacation pictures = hilarious, good fun!

Love his adventures!

I think little gnome there needs to be protected by bubble wrap in between his adventures. I love this thread, eminds of a prank we pulled in college.

Love this thread!!!! It is just too funny. And yes, these vacation pictures are worth seeing!

Now I want to get a gnome to take on vacation with me. But, I want one of the Mickey Mouse gnomes from the Flower and Garden Festival.

I'm sure pictures of a Mickey gnome in Vegas with showgirls, etc. would cause Disney to file a lawsuit. :rotfl:

I would put him back together with duct tape, superglue some mini-skis to his feet and call it a ski accident.

or

You've got that snazzy football stadium shot. Maybe he sustained his injuries in training camp? Yeah... a concussion, torn ACL, and then there is that groin injury. Good thing that the concussion has impacted his short term memory; the poor roamer has no idea he is in three pieces.

The gnome(s) has come to the end of his adventures, with us anyway! Here are a few parting shots:

Henry, our cat is thinking-"Isn't it time for you to pack up and head home? You're really starting to creep me out."

"He's still there, isn't he. I know he's still there...just standing there...staring at me..."

A bath for gnome #2, so he'll look as good as"new".:rolleyes1

Here he is with all of the gifts he's taking back with him. There is his travel journal with all of his pictures from his many trips, a couple bottles of Arizona sunscreen, the flip flops he "wore" while in AZ, two southwest sun soaps, a couple of lizards to put with him in his garden spot back home, two Arizona golfballs, two cactus-shaped golf tees, a route 66 lanyard, and some prickly pear treats from the desert.

Between the two gnomes, they traveled a total of over 14,000 miles, visiting Tucson, Phoenix, Kingman, San Diego, El Paso, Puerto Pensaco, Mexico, and Las Vegas. Gnome #1 flew from Boston to Phoenix, Tucson to Portland, Maine and back to Tucson. He also took a road trip from Maine to Delaware to attend a family wedding. Gnome #2 will be heading to Maine later this week.

I'll have to update this thread a year from now when we decide to spill the beans about gnome #1. Thanks for all the laughs (for me, it'll seem a lot funnier a year from now-ha! ha!) and for following along on his adventures!

Thanks for the ride OP! FWIW, your gnomes have traveled further than I ever have. So if you get lonely without the gnome, I'd be happy to fill in. ;)

This thread was hysterical....you guys are so clever.........too funny....makes me want to steal a gnome....:rotfl2:

To bad you didn't get a picture of the gnome by your visitor. That would have explained his pieces. Seeing that big 'ol thing, scared him to pieces!!

Have loved this idea. Can't wait to hear the follow up, next summer.

this thread was fantastic. Thanks for all the laughs! :surfweb: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

if you don't come clean about the gnome accident, this guy just might come knocking at your door

:lmao: Nobody would blame me for dropping him! They would certainly understand!

Nooooooooooo! I will come clean...someday.:rotfl2: I am keeping the pieces to gnome #1 in a box. I was thinking that next summer, we'll take him to Maine with us and during a family get together replace gnome #2 with the pieces of gnome #1. Just leave them in his spot in the garden and see what happens from there. :lmao:

shouldn't you have given gnome #2 a mudbath so he looks good as OLD..???:lmao::lmao:
