I read the first thread about this gnome-knapping.
I'm just amazed....YOU STILL HAVE THE GNOME?!!!
Wow, i would be one POed relative around now.
Come clean. Make sure you get the EXACT one.
Yes, we still have the gnome. He had a lot of places to visit. I don't think he's missing any appointments back home.

I don't think anyone back in Maine is upset that we still have him. We keep getting requests for more pictures of his travels, but we're saving most of them to put in a travel journal that will be sent home with him. The new gnome is supposed to arrive tomorrow (*crossing fingers*) and should be identical to the other one (*again crossing fingers*).
Question about these gnomes.
What are they made of?
How tall is the gnome?
And more importantly, is there an opening in the bottom? With or without a rubber plug?
Just curious.
Well, I THOUGHT he was pretty much indestructable and unbreakable, but we know now differently.

He has traveled over 10,000 miles since we kidnapped him. Not a scratch on him until earlier today when I dropped him. Of course, he landed on a cement patio.
The Travelocity Gnomes are made of cast resin. They're very lightweight and feel like hard plastic. Our gnome is 13 inches (well, he used to be

) but there is also an 8 inch gnome, and I think a larger one. There is a small hole in the bottom of the platform with no plug.
Thanks everyone, for all the funny suggestions and ideas.

I really do feel bad that the gnome is now in three pieces.

I'm leaning towards just sending the new gnome back and not saying anything...until next year when we go to Maine for part of the summer.
In the meantime, I think we'll have some fun taking pictures. Love some of the ideas here!
