Here are links to the last poll and original 'feeler' thread, narrowing it down to these two days (actually the 12th is ahead by one, but thought it good to run it by one more time). Hope to see lots of folks there, including so very many from the area who have never made it to a Chicago meet. Why not come out and visit, we do have lots of fun and you get to meet lots of others you visit with here on the boards. :sunny:

It looks like we could possibly make both of these....:jester:
just kidding dw

I picked the 29th because we have a reservation at the Comfort Inn that night. NancyIl found us a great rate there, but if she can find us a good rate for the 12th, we would have no problems with that date!:sunny:The 13th is Palm Sunday too, so just something to think about.

Not sure if I will make it but I do think either date would work for me.

I picked the 12th as I'll be out of town on the 29th and its not something I can reschedule or miss (sister's bridal shower).

I picked the 29th because I too will already be near Gurnee that day (if that's where it is held). DH might be able to do April 12th later in the afternoon as he has to cover Market Day for me due to a meeting I'm attending.

I hope you guys have an awesome time at the wedding Patrick!!!!! I heard Ellen talking about it a bit at our last DIS meet...sounds like it's gonna be a great time!!!!

Can't wait! I've never been to a DIS meet before.

This might work for a Wisconsin meet too.

I'm just like a little kid here, "When can we go to a DIS meet? Huh? Huh? When can we go? When can we go?"

Kind of a big leap in hotel rates for April 12th. Whatever...may Priceline it if that is the case.

Geez, the price for hotels is a bit high for both dates, but especially the weekend in April. I guess Spring Break & Easter probably have a lot to do with it. I guess if I go to this one, I will pick a Red Roof Inn in a decent area to stay in. You can find those all over for about $40-50/night. I won't be doing priceline since I have such a drive and as always with driving, trips like this are always quickly changed... like today, I was supposed to go to Michigan but the weather kept me home.

If you guys are looking for hotels a bit cheaper - go to Lincolnshire. It's only about 15 min south of Gurnee and their rates there are better sometimes. Just off the interstate is a Springhill Suites by Marriott and a Courtyard by Marriott that are VERY reasonably priced. Rates at the Courtyard are around $74-$94 and that includes breakfast for 2! At Springhill they run around $69 to $104. They have a continental breakfast but there is an AWESOME waffle/pancake house just in front of them that I HIGHLY recommend (Walker Bros.).

I've stayed at the Springhill Suites and they are very nice. Haven't stayed at the Courtyard there yet but have stayed in Courtyards and they are nice.

You could also check just north of the border near Kenosha (and where the Jellybelly Warehouse is located but I can't think of the town name right now). Hotels in Gurnee are ALWAYS very expensive no matter when you go.
