Less-popular Epcot places (Marrakesh, San Angel, 9 Dragons, Tokyo Dining)?

We did 9 Dragons on our last 2 trips. The trip in 08 was a 'drop in' for lunch (we went right at 11). The service was great and the food was better. More of an upscale Chinese food (rather than what we get at home!). We went back in Oct 10 and it was jsut as good!!! The only thing I found bad was the fact that I was not 'in the mood' for Chinese that night (plus newly preggo) but again the service was good as was the food!

We just tried Nine Dragons for the first time last January and my husband and I really enjoyed it!
The service was great, and the food was comparable to that of PF Changs I thought.
The only bad part was leaving the restaurant so stuffed that it hurt to walk, and we only got an appetizer and shared an entree. But still lots of food!

I've always enjoyed Nine Dragons (they're hot and sour soup is AMAZING!!)

It was the first dinner we had on our honeymoon in '99, and it was very good. We went back a few times in subsequent trips, and never had a bad meal. Once the DP came out, we just decided to try new places, and since we could get decent chinese food at home, Nine Dragons was off the list. We did eat there in 2009 to celebrate our anniversary, and it was even better than it was in the past.

Ive always had a good meal at San Angel, and usually eat there once per trip. I ate at Marrakesh once back in 2008 and wont return. I did not enjoy the meal at all, not my thing. I dont want to say that the food was bad, I just think the problem was I dont enjoy this style of cuisine. :confused3

we love both san angel inn, and nine dragons. san angel inn has a great location, service and our food was really good. nine dragons has amazing egg rolls, and the fried rice dish was beyond amazing. when it's super hot, i like to have the rice meal because it's lighter and not heavy on my stomach. the service is pretty good, and it's never been crowded in there when we've gone. we have both in our may lineup... can't wait!

We ate at Nine Dragons and San Angel this past August. Our thoughts:

San Angel - DH didn't want to eat here..we had a less than great experience here a few years ago..but the kids and I LOVE the atmosphere so he agreed to give it another try. It was excellent. Even DH loved it so much he stopped to speak with the hostess on the way out to tell her how fantastic the dinner was. The food was excellent as was the service. We all loved it. We already have it scheduled for our next trip.

9 Dragons - DH wanted to eat here, but the kids and I didn't. ;) - We didn't have ADR's but thanks to a crazy thunderstorm we ran in here and were seated immediately. Again, we all really enjoyed it. The food was very good - not fantastic, but surprisingly better than we expected. The service was excellent. We found them to be the most flexible in terms of the Dining Plan, allowing us to have a 3 course meal choosing from almost any appetizer, entree and dessert (there were a few exclusions). It was a very nice experience..one I would not hesitate to return to.

Tokyo Dining is a very nice break from it all. They have options for everyone and the service is one of a kind. My family of 6 all loved it and my 4 children all found something that they liked...from sushi to seaweed salad to chicken. Very relaxing meal and wonderful customer service.

Just had dinner tonight a Tokyo dinning and it was very good. It was loud very loud, but not unbearable. All in all a good experience. I would def eat there again.

We tried Nine Dragons last June as a last minute addition. I had not read many positive reviews on the DIS so we weren't really expecting much. Turns out that we thought it was great! Would definitely go back. My DH is not a fan of Chinese cuisine but he enjoyed it as well. The only thing I wasn't too keen on was a dessert. I think some kind of ginger ice cream. Too much ginger tastes like dish soap to me.

I also have to chime in about Nine Dragons. It has turned into our one "must do" Epcot restaurant. We will be eating there again this year for the third year in a row. We enjoy the food and have always had excellent service. The entrees are also more reasonably priced than other Epcot restaurants. We haven't used the DDP in years so this matters to us.

Marrakesh is one of my favorites:love: My DH and I have become vegans within the past year, and Marrakesh and wonderful food for people who do not eat meat, fish or diary. Just posting about it - makes my mouth water

We had a GREAT experience at Tokyo Dining in Dec 2010, eating an early dinner for the 6:45 CPP. Great server, great appetizers, great entrees, great desserts great drinks... great view, too. It was just great!
