Less chance of a Pin if you're already confirmed?

I am new to this so bear with me. We plan to go to Poly in Dec 2009. I'm PRAYING for some sort of discount. I got a 30% off email a few months back but of course only valid for THIS year. Once we book the room reservation, am I at less of a chance of getting a Pin emailed or mailed to me? Or is it totally ramdom?

Has anyone booked their room or package and THEN gotten a PIN?

ALSO....is it better to hold off on adding the package until closer to travel...just incase I do get lucky and get a pin? IE..once you make it a package is it more difficult to adjust things?

Sorry - can't answer, but have been wondering this myself so I will be waiting for any responses right along with you! Also hoping for Poly and already got two PIN codes, but neither are for our dates!!!

I booked our upcoming trip in August of last year, then got a 40% PIN in January. OUr AAA travel agent had no problem dropping the AAA discount and adding on the PIN, even though it meant switching resorts. (No coded rooms left at the Contemporary, so we moved to the Poly and still saved $450 over our AAA 20% discount )

I would suggest booking the rooms you want as soon as you can, so you know you have them. You can always apply the PIN later if you luck into one.
And don't ignore that AAA discount; it's a nice starting place!
