Length of walk from Royal Rooms to POFQ pool?

If free dining comes out for mods and excludes AoA Little Mermaid rooms, we are considering a Royal Room at POR instead. Based upon what I've read here and elsewhere, we will request Oak Manor building but if we end up in Paterre Place, I hear it's an especially long walk to the main POR pool. Does anyone know how long the walk is to the French Quarter pool from Paterre Place? I know the pool slide there is not as good as the main pool at Riverside but I think my 6 year old daughter would enjoy it. Is it a faster walk to the POFQ pool?

Thanks!

Thanks! It looks like if we want a princess room, whether it's a Little Mermaid or a Royal Room, for our princess fan daughter we are going to be doing some walking at the resort.

Similar to the Pirate rooms at the CBR and the LM Rooms at AoA, POR RR's are meant to entice people to book and stay at some of the more remote rooms in the complex.

The walk from point A to point B at either PO Resort is nothing compared to the 10+ miles you will be walking in the Parks each day:)

Lol, exactly! The walking is not that big of a deal. I was just wondering if it might be closer to go to the French Quarter pool.

It is much closer to go to the quiet pool associated with your building.

You might not realize, but there are actually multiple pools at POR.

There is a quiet pool between Oak Manor and Parterre Place. You could get there REALLY quickly. If you want to go to the feature pool at POR often, ask for a room in Oak Manor near the bridge (or just to be close to things, LOL). Then it really isn't far at all. 2 minutes maybe?

I am a big hater of CBR because I think the rooms are too far away from everything, but I really liked POR. I didn't find the pool too far away. We never did get to POFQ though, so I can't compare.

If you get Oak Manor you are really close to the main pool at POR. if you are in PP in a standard room on the right hand corner I think its pretty much the same walking distance to either pool. maybe a few steps further to FQ than the main pool at POR. We were on the outside corner of PP it was a walk to the main pool but the quiet pool was really close.

Really pretty resort!!!

Being an architect, and having stayed at both POR and CBR, the problem with CBR is the layout is rather elongated, while POR is more rounded in shape. So is CSR. POFQ is very compact, so it doesn't compare to the size of the other three resorts.

The other advantage is at POR, once you get to the building from any bus stop, you are under shade from the walkway above until you get to your room.

CBR you had to walk across the parking lot a lot farther and you spent less time in the shade.

Overall, POR and CSR have the advantages that CBR didn't have when they built it.

We were in Paterre (sp?) Place in a Royal Room this past Jan. It was beautiful!

The walk to the main pool was nothing for my kids 5 & 8. We were in the furthest building in the area and it took maybe 5-7 min to get there and that is with the kids stopping to see everything. Also, the quiet pool near this building is wonderful at night and very close as well.
