Length of time to resort/receiving luggage using DME

This is the first time I'm using DME. How long has it taken you to get from MCO to your resort using DME? How long have you had to wait for your checked luggage to arrive?

It varies. We have gone so many different times. Sometimes by the time we get to our room it's there. Other times it hasn't been there for a few hours. I always pack a change of clothes to bring on plane (shorts,bathing suits, towels, sandals etc...) just to be safe. We check in and if the room is not ready we either go to the pool or go have a bite to eat..

The average time is 90 minutes from landing to arriving at the resort and 2-3 hours for luggage to arrive at the resorts. Individual results vary but that is the average.

Disney aims to have your luggage to your room within 3 hours of you checking in to your resort. Many people confuse that with 3 hours of your flight landing, not so!

Also, you don't need to be in your room for your luggage to be delivered. Pack what you need for the first few hours in your carry-on, and go out and have fun!

In general, you can expect that the DME bus will deliver you to your resort anywhere from 60-90 minutes after you get off of the plane. The average reported is about 70 minutes. That's assuming you use the DME luggage transfer service or have only carry-on bags. If you are collecting your own bags add at least another 20 minutes to that time.

DME will deliver your luggage to your room within about three hours after you check in to your resort; assuming that your room is ready at that time. (If, for example, you check in at 9:00 a.m., it's possible that your room won't be ready until 3:00 p.m. and obviously your bags would not be delivered before that.)

One important thing to note is that there is no reason to wait for your bags to arrive in your room. (You should have anything you need for the first 12 hours of your trip in carry-on bags in any circumstance.) The bags will be delivered even if you are not there and not having to hang around is one of the best parts of the service.
