a serviceman stationed in Iraq? A friend's son was just sent. I would like to send him a big box of stuff and was wondering how long it would take to get to him.

The last box my DD sent to her boyfriend in Fallugah took 16 days.

I usually sent everything priority and it would take about 2 weeks.

It really just depends. I've gotten packages here in less than a week and some have taken over a month! Good luck! (Seems that all the packages that were insured made it and some of the ones that were Not didn't...)

It all just depends on the unit involved. A lot of ppl don't realize that the USPS only takes the package to the outgoing port, NYC, San Francisco, or Miami. The military unit involved picks it up from there. Some work real well getting them there quickly after that, some don't work quite as well.
For the Priority packages, it should only take two to three days. For the standard packages, depending on distance from those ports, anywhere from 1-3 days, to 7-10 days. Then the unit may just happen to pick up that day when your package gets to that port, or they may not pick up for several days.
Hope they get the packages soon. Most of my customers do say that most of their packages do get there in no more than a two week timeframe currently.

okay-send a small box-the USPS $7.70 flat rate boxes are the best-two small boxes will get there faster than one large one-and cost less. Its not an exact science but my experience is that it usually takes between 12 and 14 days to places out in the sticks like Tal Afar or dangerous places like Ramadi-7 or 8 to Baghdad or places close to Baghdad and between 5 and 7 to the camps in Kuwait. Dont let the post office tell you that priority mail doesnt make a difference-it does-mostly cause the post office gets it to the military faster. Also this time of year things will take longer because of the huge volume.
