I am considering reserving rooms at DLP for our entire Paris vacation. It seem easier than having to move. It looks as if you must purchase park tickets for your length of stay if you stay on property. Is this true?

TIA

If you book with Disney, park passes are included in the price. If you don't want this then you could book through the likes of Expedia where they do room only prices.

Are you reserving your rooms with your DVC points?
If so, yes, you do now have to purchase full length of stay tickets.

If your are not using your DVC points, then there are other options, as tennisfan has said :)

When we went in December for 8 nights and when I booked it came with 9 day park passes. As we were planning on not spending every day in the park, I asked if they could reduce this number of days and they said yes. Well actually when I first called for prices at Empire State Club, it was the woman on the phone who said that she could reduce the number of days park passes if we didn't want to go every day and reduce the price (not by much, but still a reduction). When I called back to book, the person at reservations didn't know anything about this and I asked if she could check with a supervisor as I told her that when I got prices a week before the lady on the phone definately said I could. When she came back she asked how many days I was wanting and I said 7 would be great as we were going to spend two days away from the park and she said thats fine. So we had an 8 night package and reduced our park passes from 9 days to 7 days. Still had to get the passes but we didn't have to have the passes for the whole length of our stay.

Hello! My sister and I are considering spending a week at DLP and alot of people are telling us that 7 days at DLP is way too much. Of course, when we say 7 days we dont mean 7 full days from early AM to late PM but still. When we visited DLR in Aug/Sept last year, we had 8 day tickets and were glad we did although we didnt do 8 FULL days. How did you find it? What did you do on the other 2 days? Anything sepcial that we shouldnt miss? Thanks alot!!!!:)

i think it depends on the person. i have tickets for 7 days. but my dd is only 2 and insists on walking so there isnt much rushing about with her. if you enjoy it then book for however long you want. its your money lol. thats what i say when people say your going for how long lol

I agree, it depends entirely on the person. We stayed last summer for 9 nights, even on the days we went to Paris or Provins it was nice to pop into the park for a couple of hours in the evening. Of course, this was when the park opened nuntil midnight. What time of year are you visiting?

We did go every day we were there, not all day. We didn't go on the day we arrived as once we went to check in and then I wanted to go to the supermarket so we went into Val d'Europe to the supermarket and had a look around there got to our room, had a look around the village, we decided not to go on the day we arrived, but that was just our choice, don't know why we didn't. Then our last day our train left Paris at 8am, so we had to leave Disneyland at 6.30am so didn't need a ticket for that day, but even the day we went to Paris for the day, we came back and went and watched Fantillusion so other than our arrival and departure days we went every day for at least a little while. One day we went to the park in the morning then went to the Sealife place at Val d'Europe.

So as others have said, its a personal thing and you really go as much or as little suits you. I loved going every day.

I'm not sure why but when I'm at Disneyland Paris, no matter how long for, I feel like I should be in the parks all day long! Think this cam from when we did WDW and it cost my paretns almost £2,000 in park tickets so we used to spend all day in the parks there.

I like to take it slowly and soak up the at-mouse-phere while I'm there so you'll often find me sat on Main Street or in some random location in Frontierland people watching :)

Thank you guys for your great comments. Nothing is official yet, but we would probably go in October to catch the Halloween stuff. Do you know if Fantillusion is running during the month of October? I'm REALLY into night parades : )

Ware Bears: Was it easy to commute from your DLP resort to the city of Paris? Of course we would like to see the city but we wouldnt want to change hotels. Also, we wouldnt rent a car (most likely). Thanks.

I'm not Ware Bears (obviously!) but can answer your question - it's really easy to get into Paris on the train (RER). You catch the train at the station at DLP and it takes you directy into Paris - it takes about 30-40 minutes depending on where you want to get off!

Thank you MinnieMouse, what would you recommend we visit in Paris? I was really going to do and All Disney trip but my sister insists on vising Paris and I guess it makes sense :goodvibes

We went into Paris for the day in the summer - it was my husband and daughter's first time in Paris so we did the main touristy stuff - Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees (daughter wanted to go to the Disney Store! :lol ), walk along River Seine, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame.

Other things we missed out but could have done - Louvre (if you're into art, we're not!), Montmartre & Sacre Coeur, Pompidou Centre.

No Fantillusion in Halloween season at all I'm afraid. But on selected nights in October, there is the Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party, where the park stays open late, and where ticket holders can have all sorts of fun with characters, street performers etc in Fantasyland.

I would definitely recommend a visit to Paris given the distance you are travelling :goodvibes

The first time we visited Paris we took a hop-on hop-off bus tour with L'OpenTour, we did two of the bus routes to see the major sites and got off at the Eiffel Tower which IMO is a MUST. It was very easy to do, we caught the RER train to Auber station and the bus tour offices are just across the road.

The second time we caught the train to Charles de Gaulle Etoile and climbed the Arc de Triomphe then walked down Champs Elysees seeing Place de la Concorde and the Tuileries Gardens, stopped off at Angelina's for lunch (after being highly recommended to go there by fellow DISer A Small World and mmmmmm it is well worth a visit) then the Louvre (we didn't go inside but did have a look at the pyramids, a must after reading the Da Vinci Code :rotfl: ) then on to Notre Dame where we climbed the tower, then walked back up Avenue de l'Opéra which brings you out on Rue Auber, perfect for catching the train at Auber station. :)
