We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge for the first time next month. I made a reservation at Chef Mickey's for 7 am but am not sure we will get there in time. If the first boat to the Contemporary leaves at 6:45, how long does it take to get to there? I may have to rethink this. Thanks.

P. S. I meant BOAT ride. I would not want to ride a boar all that way! LOL!

It's so easy! The ride from WL to CR is 5 minutes or less. The whole loop, WL/FW/CR takes about 20 minutes.

Sorry that is incorrect.

The blue boat that goes from the WL then to the Fort Wildreness campgrounds then to the Contemporary so the ride is longer than 5 minutes. So it would take 20 - 25 minutes to get there. So I would not take the boat since the first boat from the Comtemporary leaves at 6:45 then it has to go tot he WL,,, FW and then back to the Contemporary you will not make the 7:00 reservation.

No, it's not incorrect. In the am it goes to the cr first.

Let me explain a little more as I don't want to sound rude. I was on my phone before. I have stayed at both the CR & WL many times. I've taken the boat from WL to Chef Mickeys for b/fast. *MY* experience is that we went WL to CR and the total boat ride took under 5 minutes. This does not count waiting time as that can rarely be "measured". I have also taken the entire "loop" and timed the ride from the moment I stepped on the boat until the moment I stepped off the boat. *My*
actual time was 20 minutes.

OPer, you must make the decision that best suits your family. As CM's requires a credit card hold, you may be more comfortable just taking a cab over to CR. The cost should be nominal. (If you could move your ADR to 7:15, I think you'd have no issues with the boats.) Just because the boat is due to start at 6:45, the Captain could be late, or have other issues and start slightly later. You have to make the decision with which you are most comfortable. I can just relay *my* actual experience.

Have a good b/fast. CM's is fun and kids really enjoy it!

In all the times I have take the boat it has gone from WL to FW to CR.

I never did it but I also thought that in the morning it goes the opposite direction from in the evening. So AM: WL-CR-FW, PM: WL-FW-CR. but I've only done it at night.

I thought someone who works in Watercraft had posted that there are 2 boats going in opposite directions, leaving CR at the same time.

So theoretically, if the first boats leave CR at 6:45, they would both arrive back at CR at 7:05.

But even if the boat runs only in the "right" direction: if it's a 20 minute loop, a boat leaving CR at 6:45 wouldn't arrive at WL until around 7:00.

That's right. There are two boats running in opposite directions. We saw them when we stayed at WL in February. We were headed to Hoop Dee Doo and the boat stopped at the CR first. The other boat was sitting at the dock as we arrived. It had come from FW and was going to WL. All the people waiting on the dock when the two boats arrived were headed to either WL or FW. The ones dressed up got on the WL boat. ;)

We took the boats two other times. Once it went straight to the CR and the other time the boat went to FW first. These three trips were all at dinner time, but I'm sure it keeps the pattern all day.

Thanks for all the feedback. I've found no other time for Chef Mickey's for that morning, and I hate to lose it. The cab sounds like the safest bet. Thanks again.
