Hi - just wondering if anyone who has been to Legoland can tell me if I shoud plan this for 1 or 2 days. I will be traveling in Feb with my 2 kids 10 and 8 and want to make sure we get the most of our visit. My job is offering deals on either 1 or 2 day tickets and I am not sure which way to go. Any advice would be appreciated. BTW - the park hours are 10-5 and will be around President's Day weekend if that matters. Thanks again!

I have not been yet, but we are going in 2 weeks. We have opted for 2 days.

We used to go to LL in CA when we lived there and one day is fine if the park is almost empty, but if the park has longer waits, I really think 2 days is necessary.

I haven't been yet, but from what I've read, it can be done in a day. However, you might miss some sections (like walking through the gardens). The other thing, I've been to Disney World several times over President's Weekend and vowed not to do it again. It is usually at the same time as the Daytona 500 Nascar race, so you will get people from that coming over to Orlando. Also look to see when Mardi Grad falls. One year it was around that time and since New Orleans schools were out, there were lots of people from there at DW.

It also looks like Legoland isn't designed like DW for lines (no Fastpasses, line queues not made for masses of people, etc). Wait times when it was empty were around 10 minutes for some rides, so imagine what they will be like when it is busier. Finally, don't forget that if you kids are like mine, shopping for Legos will be high on their list! That will chew up some time.

And in case you didn't know, there is the VIP rewards program (free). I highly suggest signing up if you buy lots of Legos. You earn points for every dollar spent on Legos through their stores and online (not at places like Toys R Us, Target, Walmart unfortunately). I save the big purchases for the Lego stores/online as it doesn't take much to earn $10 in rewards. Right now until the 31 they are offereing a free gift with any purchase of $99 (VIP members only), double reward points AND free shipping. It was a lot cheaper to buy some Christmas presents online than buying them at the park!

Hope this helps! We are looking to visit next month or January. We are also thinking of making the hour run over to Clearwater to see Winter from Dolphin Tale (daughter is a huge animal lover and has seen the movie 3 times now).

That you both for your responses and all of the valuable information you shared. I was leaning toward the 2 day pass since we are doing this after we come back from our 3-night Dream Cruise and will not be doing WDW this time around. I know my DS10 will love this but my DD7 (will be 8 when we go) is not that into Legos so I didn't want to bore her for 2 days if it wasn't necessary. I think once we get there she'll get caught up in the excitement since it will be a new park for all of us.

I'd still love to hear from anyone else who has actually done Legoland Florida and your thoughts on the amount of time needed there.

Thanks!!!

Having been there, I would say that one day would not really cover the park completely. I did a review in the disABILITIES Forum related to disabled accesses.

And make sure you get the Granny Smith Apple Fries, which are like french fries but with apples and dusted with cinnamon and sugar and a vanilla whipped cream dipping sauce.

Just to note, as the LEGOLAND Park and the stores are ran by Merlin Entertainment, the VIP card cannot be used at the park.
