1. does the lego store in DTD have disney lego sets (ie. toy story in particular - or is this a thing of the past)
2. do they still have the Potato head parts - where you fill a box with as many pieces for a set price. if so, where can i find this.

  1. They do have Disney sets and lots of Marvel and Star Wars too. I haven't noticed a Toy Story set in a while though. They basically have whatever is out currently for the most part. They have a good selection though.
  2. Once Upon a Toy has the Mr Potato Head parts (last I checked anyway).
  3. Build Your Own Light Saber is done at several locations including Once Upon a Toy, Tatooine Traders in HS (exit shop for Star Tours), and Mickey's Star Traders in Tomorrowland at MK (there may be other locations but those I am sure of). You can pick from many parts like handles, blade colors, and just different rings and stuff to hold it all together. Cost varies depending on what you get (like if you make a double-bladed one). Some of the locations have CMs to help guide the process.

The Mr. Potato Head area looked really picked over last time I was there. I didn't notice many special Disney parts, either. :( I hope it was just waiting to be restocked and they weren't entirely discontinued.

thank you! I hope to do the Mr Potatoe head thing! hopefully its stocked well. any idea of the cost?

We did the Mr. Potato Head box about a month ago at Once Upon a Toy, and I want to say it was $20? We had a bunch of potatoes at home, so we just stuffed it with the accessories. Here is everything we fit in the box (I think there were also some Toy Story larger parts we didn't get, but this is probably about 80% of what they had):

The Build Your Own Light Saber has 5 different parts/sections to select, and a cast member will help with assembly. You can either pick one to build like a specific Star Wars character, or create your own (my 3 year old just did it, and he was very decisive in making his own).

Here are the prices at Tatooine Traders at DHS (and if you are an AP, you can get 20% off):
Single (blade): $26.99
Single Deluxe (has the two smaller "blades" sticking out the sides of the base like Kylo Ren's): $29.99
Double (blade): $41.99
Double Deluxe: $46.99

They all also light up and make noise. It's a pretty cool souvenir option...

Just to add some more locations where you can build a lightsaber
Disney Springs: Star Wars Galactic Outpost on the West Side
Epcot: MouseGears

We just saw the boxes at once upon a toy. We filled one and there were lots of special Disney items. Some need a special hand so make sure to get those too!

When you do the Mr Potato Head ask the CM for advice on how to get the most stuff in the box, they love to help and pride themselves on getting the most pieces in. We did this during the preschool years and DS played with it every time we had any down time. Totally worth it. The Light Saber was fun to make but kids will need quite a bit of help. While DS loved making it, it was his least favorite one for play once we were at home, it was pretty heavy. At lego store, my boys loved the fill your own container. They spent a LOT of time choosing just the right pieces and spent a ton of time playing with them in the room.

We were just at Once Upon a Toy in August and the Mr. Potato head is gone :( My 6 year old had been waiting for a year to do this. Poor thing, she cried and cried. They couldn't tell me if they were bringing it back or where it was going, but half the store is closed I believe for the new Virtual Reality. I wonder if they will bring it to Toy Story Land?

Has it actually gone?!

I guess it'll be in Toy Story land instead. I'm going to miss it though; I may be 25 but Mr Potato Head is a legend and I always collect pieces for him!
