This weekend is my sons 6th Birthday party at our local roller rink and the theme is Lego Harry Potter, which I cannot find any decorations for. But have made some things on my own... just like pictures and laminated them. Does anyone have any ideas for favors or other decorations?
TIA

Paint plastic hinged eggs with Mod Podge (helps paint stick), then paint eggs gold and glue on foam/paper/felt wings = Golden Snitches! Buy a set of basic Legos and fill the eggs.

If you think the kids wouldn't get out of hand, dowels or sticks make simple wands.

Do you have a HP Lego set? You could build it and use it as a table display.

Large boxes [free at Costco] with plastic bowls glued on open-side-down and spray painted make giant Legos.

If there are lots of kids, you can make a Sorting Hat out of fabric/felt and laminate badges with the house arms (Gryffindor lion, Slytherin snake, etc.) to pin on each kid. If there aren't enough to sort (or they would complain about being divided up), they could all be in Gryffindor :)

Not lego...but I just had a Harry Potter birthday for my DS who turned 8 two weeks ago. I had a sorting hat....Just a halloween witches hat. I printed out the crests from the internet and taped them to each kid's shirt. The kids had a scavenger hunt for horcruxes. I had potions class, where I had different candies named things like frogs eyes, dragons liver, etc. The kids wrote out their potions ingredients with quills and ink on parchment. We played quidditch with broomsticks, a hula hoop and a beach ball. I had rubber squishy balls that the other kids used as bludgers. We had a Harry Potter trivia contest. Throughout the games, the kids earned galleons, and they went shopping in the end at Diagon Alley. I had only 6 kids, so I bought wands online from celebrate express. We had bertie botts beans (just jelly beans) and I found harry potter silly bands on clearance at Target. For decorations, I printed out larger sized house crests, and put them on shields. We also had brick wall covering. I got a mold for frogs, and made chocolate frogs. Also made acid pops with sour apple blow pops covered in pop rocks. I was going to make butter beer, but we honestly didn't have time.

Have fun!!!

We had SO much fun with the Harry Potter theme for my DS's bday in December. We just did general Harry Potter - not the Lego, but I am sure you could adapt some:

- Wands out of a dowel & some candle holders from AC Moore, I had the kids paint them and put glow in the dark paing & glitter on the tip, but you could make ahead if no place to paint them.
- I got brooms on clearance after Halloween and got some wooden beads and had the kids put their names in beads on the brooms. My mom then jumped in (unprompted, but very good & helpful) and gave them flying lessons!
- For decorations I printed out the crest for each house and had tables set up with the colors for that house (i.e. Gryffindor had a burgandy table cloth & balloons, Slytherin had green, etc).
- Instead of goody bags, I got all sorts of candy, sunflower seeds, raisins, etc and set up bowls/spoons and gave each kid a bag to fill with a label for Honeydukes Candy Shop. I labeled all the candy with fun names like sour slimey worms, dragon drops, golden snitches, troll toes, etc. I also got the little wax bottles with juice in them and called them magic potion bottles & pixie stix for sugar wands.
- I made a cake of Hogwarts & a Quidditch match
- We had a sorting hat as decoration, but didn't sort the kids into groups

Have fun - if you google Harry Potter Party ideas you can get carried away!
