We had SO much fun with the Harry Potter theme for my DS's bday in December. We just did general Harry Potter - not the
Lego, but I am sure you could adapt some:
- Wands out of a dowel & some candle holders from AC Moore, I had the kids paint them and put glow in the dark paing & glitter on the tip, but you could make ahead if no place to paint them.
- I got brooms on clearance after Halloween and got some wooden beads and had the kids put their names in beads on the brooms. My mom then jumped in (unprompted, but very good & helpful) and gave them flying lessons!
- For decorations I printed out the crest for each house and had tables set up with the colors for that house (i.e. Gryffindor had a burgandy table cloth & balloons, Slytherin had green, etc).
- Instead of goody bags, I got all sorts of candy, sunflower seeds, raisins, etc and set up bowls/spoons and gave each kid a bag to fill with a label for Honeydukes Candy Shop. I labeled all the candy with fun names like sour slimey worms, dragon drops, golden snitches, troll toes, etc. I also got the little wax bottles with juice in them and called them magic potion bottles & pixie stix for sugar wands.
- I made a cake of Hogwarts & a Quidditch match
- We had a sorting hat as decoration, but didn't sort the kids into groups
Have fun - if you google Harry Potter Party ideas you can get carried away!
