Looking to make a few extra bucks (or a lot of extra bucks...lol) does anyone have any legitimate work from home websites?

thanks!

You can learn more about working from home, employee and independent contractor jobs as well as business opportunities, and how to spot scams by reading at wahm.com and workplacelikehome.com.

I am finding myself looking for that as well. I am a stay at home mom but would love to work from home. Did you find any info? Anything helpful?

I work for Pearson, scoring extended response items from state school testing. It's seasonal (generally Feb-Mar through June), they want a minimum of 20 hours but preferably 30 per week, all on my own schedule. At this point, unless you have skills that would qualify you to score items from SAT/ACT or AP tests, you'd probably be applying for next year. I earn $12-$14/hour, depending on the project (right now I'm scoring a 5th grade reading response from the Illinois state test, and immediately after this I'll do a 4th grade math extended response, not sure what state -- I've done IL, TX and MA). This is my 3rd year doing this, and it's definitely legitimate.

You need a minimum of a BA or BS, and they prefer some teaching experience -- I was a sub for 9 years, but don't have a teaching certificate. You can get more info and apply at www.flexiblescoring-il.pearson.com. If you decide to apply, please PM me -- I'll give you my name so you can put it in as who referred you. Also, PM me if you want more details. I found out about this from the DISboards, so I'm happy to pass it along!

I just recently discovered the blog RealWaysToEarnMoneyOnline.com. The author posts job leads and reviews, has a database of companies, and lets you know which sites are worth signing up for. Great website!!!

The requirements say you have to reside in Illinois to do this. Do they have something similar in other states?

I found jobs.pearson.com, but flexible scoring is not on the list. I would try calling the phone number they show on the website I gave above and talk to the human resources department. I know they hire all over the country. A couple of my jobs for them have not been on the Illinois site, but I don't know the website info for those.

ETA: found this: http://education.pearsonassessments.com/pai/ai/about/careers.htm. This has info about applying through the Pearson national site.

I work from home full time and I make great money. A website to consider is workplacelikehome.com and then go to the forums section. good luck!

Anyone have any experience with Arise.com??? Anyone have info or feed back about them?? Thanks!!

I have worked from home for several different companies (I'm a certified teacher) and I must say it is not a job for the typical sahm of small children. I need to concentrate to get my work done properly and little ones just would not be compatible. My children are in school so I'm typically working when they are not home or they have strict instructions (since they're old enough to understand) that they are not to bother me. We recently even added a door to the study in our house so I could work without being disturbed. Plus a lot of these companies that don't require specific skills or degrees are phone center positions (I believe Arise is) that would require no background noise.
