We're going to WDW in June-me, DH, DD (11) and DS (7). We have the MYW dining plan. Would you recommend using two sit-downs at Le Cellier or the California Grill? Thanks!
LeCellier,it is on our must do list,we have dined at both and enjoyed our experience at both.Service was great at both,we just enjoyed the food at LeCeliier better.Had steak at both,California Grill may have better wine list. Either place I think you will have a great dining experience.
the steak there is outstanding and I could cut it with a spoon.....that I was licking from the cheddar cheese soup..........I am very anxious to bring the two grandkids there with us..
Apples to oranges. Both are good choices, LeCellier is casual with generally good service and food. CG is upscale with excellent and insspired cuisine, great service and an award winning wine list. As an FYI, I understand that there will be a dress code enforced at the CG very soon if it hasn't started yet, which might factor into your decision.
As much as I really like Le Cellier, I'd have to vote for the California Grill. I found the food and service to be great and the views are amazing!!!!!
Disneydotty:
Lots of folks like you (and me) like to dine casual (especially on vacation in WDW in Florida) and for that reason, will avoid places that "make" you dress up. Frankly, California Grill is not one of those places worth a special effort to dress up.
Enjoy Le Cellier!!
We decided to use 2 on both places since we wanted to eat at both and pay out of pocket for Marrakesh one night and eat off site another. Looking at the cost, we figured out that since we actually wanted to try both it was a better value at the signatures in this case. That being said, if the CG does have a dress code that is anything other than neat pants and a shirt, we may drop it and go someplace else.
Another vote for LeCellier. We were not impressed with the CG. The food was no where near as good as LeCellier, (the pretzel bread was amazing!). Also we thought that right in front of the Canada pavillion was a great place to watch Illuminations.
I will say this, The thing that is keeping me from doing the dinning plan is the fact that le Celier is a 2 meal ticket instead of 1. Dont get me wrong, it is a great place we frequent almost every trip, butI do not feal it is at the level of california grille and should not require a 2 ticket to eat there.
Thanks for the info, y'all! I still have about five days before I can make a PS so I'm going to continue to ponder your suggestions. Must say, you have done a good job in making me hungry!
