We've decided to go away for the weekend during our Sept. trip. We've done this before, but it usually involves a trip to visit FL relatives. We're thinking of maybe going to Kennedy Space Center (we've never been). Our girls are 15 and 13. I see that the admission there is good for 2 days, so I'm wondering whether we just just do that for 2 days or if there's something else we should do for a 2nd day.

Also - anyone have any hotel recommendations for that area?

I tried searching the DIS for info. about this, but I've come up dry. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

KSC is a great one-day trip -- if you're interested in the space program and rockets, etc.. Could spend the second day at the beach and wildlife refuge, or maybe go north from there to St. Augustine (history, charm, beach, alligator farm, and good Disney/Character outlet). Are the girls interested in those types of activities? Maybe check out the St. Petersburg area -- lovely beaches and interesting sites in town to visit. Or do you go to the beach at home?

Yeah, my girls and I would be more interested in the space stuff than the beach, although it's DH who really wants to do the side trip. I know this is going to sound shocking, but we really don't care about shopping either - history maybe, but they would die if I made them go shopping. ;)
