We had a kind Dis member that left 2 chairs/umbrella and some sand toys for us. We also have 3 noodles to add to the stuff. IF anyone is arriving tomorrow or arrived tonight and wants this stuff please let me know.

Thanks

If you don't get any DIS takers, just go down to the beach and look for someone you haven't seen earlier in the week that doesn't have more than a beach towel and offer it to them. It will be really rewarding to see their reaction. :)

Just remembered you are leaving at 8 am. Just take them down to the "pier" (you know, the really LONG one :)) and leave it with a note. You won't get to see the happy faces, but you'll know someone is happy.

Thanks good idea. Our other thought was to leave it in the parking garage with a note that says FREE.

I was going to take ours down and leave them somewhere, when I happened on someone using the internet on a table in the hallway. I asked if she could use the two chairs, and she said yes and that she would pass them on the same way when she left.

This is what we did. We just gave them to others who were already on the beach and looked like they could use an umbrella, chairs, and boogie board. It was very easy. Even better, we didn't have to bring our stuff back up to the room one more time to get rid of them.

We saw an unwanted umbrella and chair sit for 4 days next to the garbage can near the pier. I'm sure that it was eventually thrown away.

I would see if you could fine someone at the beach or at the resort who you could pass them on to.

With or without or note, I really would not encourage others to leave any unwanted stuff cluttering up the garage.

Someone took them as soon as we walked back into the elevator. :thumbsup2

We went back up after watching a mother and daughter look at them....we had them right inside by the elevator on the ground level. So we decided to wait 2 min. and take the elevator back down and they WERE GONE. :goodvibes We figured we would try this first (with people checking in and coming back from eating) and if they were still there in the morning when we were putting the last stuff in our van.... we would take them to the beach. However they didn't sit there 2 min. We literally walked into the elevator after putting the stuff there and the mom and daughter walking out stopped to look and the door shut. So we waited a couple of minutes and when we went back down the stuff was gone. We also left 3 noodles.

Choosing the garage proved to be an excellent idea :-) especially your thinking that new arrivals would be coming through ! I'm sure that family appreciated it.

Its good that people took your stuff.

Getting rid of our stuff was hard. We asked a group if they wanted it and they just looked at us like we were crazy. My DH decided to sit it up by the fence hoping someone would take it. I finally went down at about 5 and found a couple that just had arrived and bought kids meals to get their sand buckets. They were so happy.

When we got there someone originally gave us the sand toys and boogie board so I loved giving our stuff to someone else.
