Leaving Sunday for six nights at Universal. Staying at HRH. Haven't really planned a thing. As a self confessed over planner (had every minute planned for our two Disney trips) , I am starting to get anxious. Will we be alright without a detailed plan? Do I need dining reservations for Universal? We're not very picky about where we eat. Is it too late now? Can I make reservations the day of?

You can certainly make reservations the day of. Go to guest services at your hotel and your can make reservations there. You really don't have to plan much since you are staying onsite but I would plan on a few early entry mornings.

You shouldn't have an issue with reservations. Remember...onsite guests receive priority seating at CityWalk establishments when the hotel room key is shown. However...if you wanted to make reservations, there is a kiosk across from the movie theater at CityWalk where you could do that .

If you have park tix for all six of those days--heck just most of those days--you will have plenty of time to enjoy the parks at whatever pace you desire.

That makes me feel a lot better. I was worried about HP causing this to not be as stress free as I wanted. We have 7 day tickets (bought a couple of years ago) so I we planned to do one early morning in each park and then come and go as we please. Didn't remember that there was priority seating for staying on site. Thanks for reminding me!

There is only early entry at IOA. However, if you go to Universal at opening, there are some things that aren't open yet. Those things that are will have no lines.
