Leaving stuff in stroller?

I was just wondering how comfortable you all are in leaving some stuff in your stroller while you're on rides... obviously nothing like purses, cameras or credit cards or anything, but water bottles, sunscreen, stuff like that. What about bags? Thanks!

we've left bags (new toys) in the rear pocket of the rental strollers and never has anything been stolen. there are tons of strollers full of stuff (even some new souvenirs in bags still) I would guess there are occasional thefts but we've personally never had an issue. I even lost my camera near the stroller rental area and it was quickly returned and we had it back 10 mins. later.
If you stay onsite, you can have new puchases delivered to your resort so you don't have to carry all thru the parks.

Excellent! Thanks for the responses and for the reminder about having stuff sent to our room - that will make it a lot easier. Thanks again.

I've actually left camera lenses in the stroller. Little tip. If you have yoner kids, Diapers make excellent padding for your electronic devices. Potential pickpockets are more turned off by diapers in a diaper bag than by backpacks that say CANON on them. ;)

I've also read in these boards of people sick of other people taking their rented strollers (empty of course). They would pour soda into a diaper, and dangle it off the handlebar in a plastic bag. No more missing rented strollers.

I leave cheap-o sippy cups and park maps, but nothing that I couldn't part with - we got to experience Disney theft first hand one year. Learned my lesson.

I wouldn't leave any food/drinks (except bottled drinks with lids) in the strollers, it creates a buffet for the birds. I waited with DS while DH went on a ride, and we watched the birds just jump down the line of strollers, picking out food and chewing on straws  . I'm assuming the birds are well fed because they didn't bother with anything smaller than a nickel sized piece of food.

Really bad idea. Birds are an issue, and so are thieves. The only thing I've left in a stroller is a lunchbag cooler w/ baby food & bottled water in it. EVERYTHING else is in a backpack slung over the handlebars that comes with us onto rides. Learn to pack as light as possible when visiting parks.

Shopping bags left in strollers are a thief's fondest dream. They can pick it up, take it to any store and say that they changed their minds about the purchase and want to return it or exchange it for something else; instant goodies. If you are in the habit of shopping while in parks, SEND YOUR PURCHASES TO THE FRONT GATE! There is no charge for this, and you can pick everything up when you are on your way out. (You can't do it during the last hour or so that the park is open, though.)

We also leave our rain coats, sun lotion, water, ect.. The rest we leave in the backpack and take with us. We have never had anything taken from the stroller.

We leave rain gear, water bottles, diapers in ziploc bags, baby wipes, change of clothes for each child (they love to run through the fountains) and sunscreen. All easily replaceable. We send all packages to our resort. The only thing we carry is our wallets (with tickets inside), camera, video camera (a tiny one), and one bottle of water. Anything else we can buy if we need to.

Gross! :scared: Thanks so much for this info. You just ensured that I will not leave anything remotely edible in the stroller!!

instead of adult backpack--which could hold "good" stuff, we take a barbie backpack--no one ever bothers it!

Fall 2005, my family and I went to DL. We bought a cheap stroller for my DS who was 1 at the time. It was clearly marked with my sisters frog lunchbag. We went to ride the Haunted Mansion. WE came out and our stroller was gone. I found another one that looked like it but it wasn't. These people took my stroller so I took theirs. They were the same, although a bigger kid than my son was in it because of the straps and that the tires were more worn than mine.

I don't know how they could have mixed the strollers up. They were far apart from each other. WE still had the plastic coverings on the bottoms.

WE left the stroller in the van when we returned it.

Just be careful. Other places like Busch Gardens we have been fine with leaving items such as cups but don't leave anything that you wouldn't want to part with.

I like the suggestion I read earlier about using a clear backpack. People can see easy enough that it's just baby/toddler stuff and don't bother with it. (and security at the entrance can see everything without you having to open the bag!)

Last year we had everything we needed in the one diaper bag (backpack, actually), but since my wallet was in there too, we just grabbed the diaper bag when we left the stroller.

This year DS will be almost 3 so we won't take much into the parks with us. A cup for him, one change of clothes, and sunblock. All those can be safely left in the stroller.

Agreed on sending packages to either your resort (if you're staying on site) or to the front gate. Potential thievery aside, it's just easier to not have to lug extra stuff around!

We always leave things in our kids' strollers and our parents did in ours. No one in my family has ever had anything taken -- and we've had many, many, many visits to the World. (I grew up in Winter Park.)

We leave some stuff. Last time we keept forgetting Pal Mickey who was strapped to the back-and he was never taken.:smickey:
BUT-we saw squirrels in some strollers!:scared1:
