After 9 years, I am leaving my job. Today is my last day and I am bummed. My new offer is tremendous....lots more $$, a nice office and great long term growth.

I am just bummed because I am going to miss the great people I have worked with here.

My husband just did the same thing 3 weeks ago. He was with his co. for 12 yrs.

It was hard for him the last week. It was hard for me too because we got to know alot of the people as family.

Everyone wished him the best and they took him to lunch and out after work for drinks. This made the transition easier for him.

I guess it would be easier if you left disgruntled, just meaning that it would be easier to leave.

All I can say is best of luck to you and think about the new adventure you'll be on. Once you start, all of your sad feelings for leaving will be in the back of your mind.

Go get 'em !!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

that's so funny because today is my last day at my job also. I've only been here a year but I did enjoy it. I'm looking forward to my new job it will be more challenging, more money and more room for advancement.

Congratulations and {hugs}....I was wondering if you were going to go for it.

DH and I moved last year and the kids adjusted fine but DH misses his coworkers and friends.
Good news...cell phones and email can keep you in touch.

I did the same thing this past summer. After 10 years at my old job, I got an offer I just could not reduse! I still really miss all my friends, and do my best to see them when I can, but it's not the same being with them day in and day out. My new company is growing, and I will be able to hire two people next year, so hopefully I will find some new best friends. But my new job has been really great - they just gave me a bonus last week, so I know I made the right choice professionally.

Good luck to you. And congratulations on your new job.

I am sure my first direct deposit will make all of these feelings go away.

:)

Change is not easy, leaving your friends is even harder. But remember you are doing what is best for you and your family. Phone calls and e-mails can keep you in touch with your friends, maybe you could even get together every now and then for lunch or dinner or drinks.

I company I worked for for many years closed out the division I was working in. Those people get together every year, first Friday in December for a cocktail party. It is great. We've had attendence anywhere from 25 to 125 people!

Just because you are leaving your job, doesn't mean you need to leave your friends behind.

Good luck to you.
