Leaving MK after MVMCP: rental car or Disney Bus to POR?

I'll be staying at POR in December with a rental car. I know people usually take the Disney busses to the MK so they can get dropped off at the door to the MK. I kind of want to ride the monorail, though! Does anyone know what the crowds are like leaving at the end of MVMCP on the monorail? And then out of the parking lot? Am I crazy?

We like to take the rental car everywhere, but one exception we make is MVMCP. At the end of the night when we are tired, I'd rather just walk over to the bus stop rather than fight the crowds at the monorail then the tram. It's too dark to see anything anyway.

Take the bus. It's easy, close and free. The cab won't be able to drop you off at the park. You will have to get out of the cab at TTC.

IMO the bus is much better to the parks, especially the MK with its far away lot and two levels of transport to get to your car.
