Leaving MK after fireworks

I heard that if you are leaving MK after the fireworks and the crowd seams unbearable that you should go Monorail to Contempary Resort then go to TCC from there. Any comments from the Disney veterans? I would like to avoid our last experience of waiting over an hour on our bus to take us back to our moderate resort. We will be staying at the CBR.

We did this last month and it worked like a charm. The line for the resort monorail was not even half as long as the other one.
We even rode in the front with the driver (we normaly wouldn't ask when so crowded) and when he asked where we were going we said TTC and he said ok, a quick stop at the contemp & we were on our way to TTC and out to our car probally before all the other people even got on the monorail.

I don't think you change. I believe it's just a stop and then the monorail stops next at TTC. If I had a choice of sitting on the monorail or standing in line, it would be to sit. Even if it's the same amount of wait time to get to TTC.

No you don't have to change at the contemp. It is just a quick stop to let people off/on then you are off to the TTC.

hopping on the resort monorail is also a great way to visit the monorail resorts, poly, contemp & grand floridian.

We actually watched the fireworks from near the train station at the end of Main St. and then made a hasty exit as soon as it was over. If you stand near the flagpole area, you can see the castle and the fireworks. We got a jump on most of the crowd and got on the first bus that came for AKL and even got a seat.
