Any cute ideas on leaving little gifts out for the kids? I know some people say that Tinkerbell came and left a present. I bought little Disney-themed dollar store items for my kids (flashlight, pencils, etc) and wanted a cute way to give them.

I'm doing the same for my niece when we go next year for her 1st trip. I picked up a satin Princess "treasure box" at Target this year after Easter which I'm probably going to use. My local Hallmark store has gift boxes that tie closed with ribbon that I thought might also be cute...I picked up a gold colored one up for about $2 on clearance. If you've got some time you might be able to find something after Halloween to use...there is always Disney stuff that isn't really holiday themed that's perfect for using for other gifting.

I did this for my DD on her 1st trip last Sept. I also bought her a new pair of PJs (Tink of course) along with other small gifts from dollar store and dollar bins @ Target that were all Disney themed (coloring books, letter and number workbooks ....good for on the plane home)

Tink left the gifts and even left a trail of Pixie Dust (aka glitter) behind on the rug. Mousekeeping must have loved me!!! LOL :rotfl:

It was a big adventure for my DD to follow the pixie dust to see where Tink left the gift.

Now, I have to start planning little gifts for trip #2 for DD in Aug!!!!

:cheer2:

We usually left a "Tink" gift on the bed with her (around the feet). This was also helpful when Tink forgot to put something out and we found the gift later in between the folds of the sheets. :thumbsup2

Whenever anyone asked what was the best part of her vacation, she always says was the Tink gifts - go figure. Thousands of dollars later it was the dollar zone items that made her trip!

With my luck it will be those and the hotel pool!

I just came back from the Dollar Tree with my kids' gifts from Mickey. They have a ton of Disney-themed items right now!

For my son I got a Mickey Mouse swim ring, a Mickey puzzle, a Mickey magic towel, Mickey kaleidoscope, parachuting Buzz, Woody, Donald, & Goofy, a Disney animals math workbook, & Mickey playing cards.

For DD I got Ariel floaties & beach ball, a whole bunch of Disney play figurines: Ariel, Ursula, Aurora, Maleficent, Snow White, Cinderella, & Belle, a Playhouse Disney coloring book, Ariel magic towel, & Cinderella lip balm.

I'm going to wrap these in Disney-themed wrapping paper before we go, and send them down with my in-laws (they are driving, we are flying). I will pull out a gift for each kid each morning before they get up.

I also found a Disney-themed "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader" card deck. I will put this in our park bag to pull out while we are waiting in line. It has questions of varying skill level--from 1st grade to 5th grade.:thumbsup2

I have purchased cynchsacks/backpacks for DS10 & DD6 to use as carryons. Every morning I am going to have them put their PJs in the sacks, out of Mousekeeping's way. Surprise, Tink will have left them something in the sack while they were sleeping! :cool1:

On our first night we went out to eat. When we came back to the room, there was new PJ's for each of us (mom & dad too!) laying in a neat pile on the bed, along with a stuffed Mickey, Minnie, & Goofy. Each of the kids claimed theirs right away. There was also a letter from Mickey welcoming us and telling us to look for a Tink surprise every day if they were happy children, but that Tink does not visit crabby or selfish children.... :confused3

They would go to bed with their stuffed Mickey or whatever, but in the morning, the Mickey would be beside their bed with a small toy or gift.
One moring DS9 had an invitation from Capt. Jack to join him for a Pirate Adventure that day, and one morning DD2 had an invite for breakfast with Cinderella!
I have also seen Mickey Mail boxes made out of a shoebox and it sits on the table in your room.
Good Luck, my kids LOVED the special little things from Tink!

I have been buying little things for a while. We will be there finally in TWO weeks AHHHH

Anyway, in the card/giftbag section at Walmart I found red bags (like brown paper lunch bags) and got a bunch .. that way each night after the kids go to bed I can fill them with alittle something and leave it on the dresser from Mickey/Minnie.

Where did you find the "ARe you smarter than a 5th grader? cards? TIA

I made a letter (used by digital scrapbook sofware and imported clip art pics) for each day that described what they would be doing and each were signed from different characters depending on what we were doing for that day. Along with the letter would be a small gift for them. They LOVED it! Unfortunately, I didn't do one for the day we left for home and they were asking where that days was.

I have done this for the girls in the past. I just put them out on the hotel room table, sprinkle glitter all over them and then I used a Polly Pocket shoe to make footprints in the glitter, that was the finishing touch, they thought Tink had come for sure!!! For DD12's 13th bday I'm going to do a few little things and write a note from Tink, for DD9s 10th bday I'm going to do a few little things and write a note from Fawn. I'm actually thinking about going to see Fawn & Tink in Pixie Hollow and having them sign something there for the girls. :) Not sure yet tho, we need to see how it all plays out.
