Leaving in less than 2 days - ticket question

We fly down on Tuesday and will be at California Adventure on Wednesday, then DL for Th/Fri.

Question -Can we go by CA after we land the evening before and exchange our paper ARES print out for real tickets ahead of time?

OR - If we do it in the morning at CA - does that work just fine and we'll get our 3 day non-hopper tickets for CA and DL as well.

I've looked at Google and I don't have any idea where you drive by and drop Mom to run up and switch for real tickets and it's freaking me out at this point.

Okay - I'm studying Google sat view. On the west side it looks like there is a Tram entrance and then 4 blue/green roof tops that look like they could be ticket booths. And then across the brick courtyard to the east, there are another 3 blue/green roof tops that look the same. And then there are maybe 4 loop entrances for shuttles or something large?

Which side is the main entrance? To the west off Disneyland Drive or to the east off S Harbor Blvd?

I can't find the entrance to CA at all.

I'm trying to solve this myself, but if you have any suggestions I could really use them.

If you come in from Harbor Blvd you'll walk passed a shuttle drop off area and then through bag check then straight ahead of you will be 3-4 ticket booths in the middle of a large esplanade. Disneyland will be to your right and California Adventure will be to your left. You can go in the evening before you want to go the the parks and exchange your vouchers for your real tickets then return to your hotel to get some sleep. If you come in through Downtown Disney you'll go through bag check then the parks will be on opposite sides and there will still be about 3 ticket booths just in front of you - there are a couple on each end of the esplanade. I tried to find a picture to illustrate it for you but google wasn't my friend tonight.

Here's a pic showing the Esplanade area. Downtown Disney is to the left, and Harbor Blvd is to the right. Disneyland is at the top, and California Adventure is at the bottom. The loops on the right are where the shuttles from the hotels and the Toy Story parking lot drop you off.

To the south of the shuttle drop off there is a pick-up/drop-off area where you can park your car for about 15 minutes, if you're just going to run up to the ticket booths and exchange for your tickets, and leave your mom in the car. However, there is no guarantee that it will only take 15 minutes, so use your judgment. Another option is to park in Downtown Disney parking lot and go through Downtown Disney to those booths.

If you are in a hurry, go to the drop off area, however, if you have time, going through Downtown Disney would be nice. It's 2 hours free parking, and if you grab a bite to eat and get the ticket validated you get another 2 hours.

Can you still short term park in his drop off lot? I have read reports that you can no longer leave your car. I am planning to do this tomorrow to walk my 14 year old daughter to meet friends at the front gate and now I'm nervous I won't be able to!

No, they removed the parking spaces in 2012. You could park at DTD and walk through there.

Personally I would just wait and do it on your first morning it doesn't take very long at all! If your vouchers have A barcode then you just go straight to the gate they'll scan it and give you your ticket.
