:sad1:

I've had an insanely busy month and never realized that we got NO DME tags in our paperwork from Disney! It's not even on our reservation that we requested Magical Express service! Kicking myself that I didn't double-check. :guilty: We've been going for many years now and never had a problem before. Has this happened to anyone else? I am going to pull our bags before getting on the bus because I just don't trust that we'll get our stuff. I know it has worked for other people, giving the baggage claim numbers, but if it doesn't, we are in big trouble. :sad2: I just can't take the chance.

I would HIGHLY suggest calling DME and getting reservations. They are not supposed to transport you unless you do so.

Of course, you can do what you wish about the bags. You do have the option of giving the DME your airline luggage tags and they'll collect your bags for you.

You'll just have to pull your own bags and bring them with you to the bus. It's going to be a PITB but look on the bright side: you'll have your bags right away. I would call and make sure that they are expecting you on the DME bus.

Immediately call Magical Express ( toll free 866-599-0951) and make your DME reservations.

Ask for and write down the name and city of the person(s) you talk to.

Good idea to take cell phone photos of your bags.

When you arrive in Orlando before 10 PM, choice of:

1. Report directly to the DME welcoming area. Go to the counter where you will need to show your baggage claim checks and possibly pick out the shapes of your bags from a chart (hence the cell phone photos). Then you will be directed to the bus queues.

2. Pick up your bags from the carousels and then report to the DME welcoming area. If there is a roving welcoming CM he may direct you to the bus queues and the bags will be put under the bus passenger cabin. (Mandatory after 10 PM with or without yellow tags.) Please tip the driver as he hands your bags back to you.

You have the right but not the obligation to be concerned about your bags if you choose #1. With yellow DME tags the bags never* get on the carousel into public view and reach. Without yellow tags the bags will spend some time on the carousel. But when bags don't get to your room when expected, the most likely reason was that they were delayed by your airline getting into Orlando. Should you choose #2 and your bags were delayed, you would file a claim on the spot requesting delivery to your resort and the airline, upon getting the bags into Orlando, will put them on DME.

* What, never? Waay...alll (sic), hardly ever! (Once in a blue moon the behind the scenes CMs miss a bag.)

The bolded is incorrect. Assuming an arrival before 10pm, DME users can give DME their airline issued luggage tags and DME will pick up the bags and deliver them to the resort.

That's good to know :thumbsup2. I have not used DME in a very long time. Thanks :).

I love the way you put that, seashoreCM-"you have the right but not the obligation to be worried"... :)
