Ok, I know there isn't a thing anyone can do but I just had to vent. My poor DS has been home from school 2 days and not feeling well at all. Had a fever of 103 and not eating. I'm sure it's just a "bug" but for goodness sakes...not before our trip. My DH has drug himself to work everyday this week but has very similar symptoms. I'm in the clear so far and so is my other DS. Cross your fingers we can kick this before Saturday.:worried:

Oh I feel for you. Just keep everyone comfortable and make sure they rest. You still have all day today, tomorrow and Friday to have them start feeling better.
I'm sending TONS of Pixie Dust your way! Enjoy your trip :)

Good luck. I hope they are feeling better soon.

Pixie get well wishes coming you way!

Just a thought here, remember to keep them hydrated and lots of rest when you make the trip after they have recuperated. We did this once and one of ours had a relaspe. Thank goodness it was a long trip and a great one at that!!!

Spray everything in your house with Lysol! Frequent hand washing for everyone and not sharing towels will also reduce the chance of you and your healthy son getting it. It sounds like the viral thing my kids had a couple of weeks ago. Three days and it was pretty much gone. DH and I never caught it.

Lots of pixie dust and happy thoughts coming your way... :goodvibes

Keep the pixie dust coming because my DS is feeling a little better today. He actually started "acting like himself" today which is a good sign. However..........my DH sounds horrible. It seems he even has it in his chest too. I told him tonight to stock up on the vitamin C and GET BETTER!!! Keep the pixie dust coming and maybe by Sat. things will have turned around.

Get some Zicam! It's REALLY good medicine when you're sick. It's about $9 a box, but knocks out colds FAST. You can find it at most drugstores, Wal-Mart and Target. I took it right before my cruise last year and my cold was gone in 1-2 days.

Thanks for the zicam tip...my MIL said to get something that began with a "Z" but she couldn't remember anymore than that. I will certainly get some tomorrow!!

Thank You!!!!!!

I think once you guys pass through that Welcome to Walt Disney World sign, the magic will take over and make it all better.

Pixie dust and well wishes. It is just the worst when these things happen. Sounds like things are improving though. Hope everyone is well for the trip, and it's as magical as ever!!

I read someplace about putting Zinc tablets in your mouth while on a plane to keep germs away.
I have threatened my whole family if someone gets sick before, or during our trip I will kill them. Of course i was home all week with a heating pad on my sore back. All better now. Knock on Wood. There seems to be a lot of sickness reported in the trip reports.
They should be better by the time you leave. Just don't give it to my family, I need this vacation so much. Warm weather here I come.

Good thoughts and pixie dust for your DH he is feeling better soon...Mega dose on Vitamin C and use that Zicam stuff, they say it is wonderful.....

d96j97-can your husband get to the drs today/tonight? Maybe they could give him a shot of Vit. C or something else and give him medicine to take with him? I'm glad your son is feeling better.

Good luck on your trip. I was sick when we went in February but was able to drag myself from park to park with surprisingley little effort. Florida is amazing for making you see the bright side of things.

Good luck. We went down, my dad and I were there a day and a half before my wife and 2 kids. The day we got there, we got a call saying my daughter was not feeling well and going to the doctors. Come to find out she had Pneumonia. so my wife had to deal with my little one getting sick on the plane, on the monorail over to the airport, nevermind the fact they were delayed for 2 hours on the plane on the runway and did not get in untill about 10:30 PM and we went the wrong way on our way back from the airport, so we did not get to our hotel until about 12:30 or 1:00 and then had to deal with the special medicatoin and my little one recovering the whole time. The first 2 days, we were lucky if we could get her to smile :-(

Sorry, I just wish you better luck than we had. I think that is why just my wife and I are going in about 14 days ;)

I hope your family is feeling better for the trip...I am leaving in just a few days myself and this past week I have developed an allergy to something. My bf and I grabbed some chinese take out the other night..same stuff we always get and from the same place. Well about 10 minutes after I ate it my face/skin was red and itchy my eyes felt puffy. I have stocked up on major amounts of Benadryl!!!

My best advice to you is drink, drink, drink (water that is))!! Keeping yourself hydrated may save you from getting whatever it is they have. If DH is getting something in his chest you'd better get him checked out before he travels. So much easier to have a couple of days of medicine under his belt before going away.

As far as germs while away on vacation goes. We were just discussing this at work today. From what I understand it's in vogue to carry Lysol wipes with you everywhere you go and sanatize everything you'd touch! Personally, I couldn't be bothered but if I had someone with me who'd been sick I might think about keeping new germs away. The biggest offenders in your hotel room is the remote control, phone and door knobs.

I hope your family perks up quick. Enjoy your vacation.
