Leaving in 13 days and DH wants me to change our itinerary!! (long)

We went in 2000 thinking that would be the only time we ever went to WDW. Well, we (at least my daughter and I) got the bug and went back in 2003, and now I'm planning 3rd and 4th trips this year and got an annual pass! So I have a feeling you'll be back! Our first trip we didn't visit a water park and we're still using plusses from those tickets and our 2003 tickets!

TL and BB are VERY LARGE parks with VERY LARGE slides and VERY busy areas. They do have children's areas but you have to be alert there. Its a huge operation...perhaps if you looked them up on the Disney website or some others you might get the idea of the size of them.

I think you are wise to try and skip them. Truly the kids will LOVE the Poly pool.

Yes, you will have problems dragging them out of the Poly Pool, take that $100 and invest it in a couple of Lapu Lapus ( :confused3 the drink in the pineapple with rum - YUM!)

Honestly, I heard myself say, why did we come to WDW? We could've just gone to a hotel with a water slide!! :rotfl2: DD8 never wanted to get o ut of the pool, so that meant she was too tired to get up for the emh!!

It was a wonderful memory standing in the pool watching wishes, and the electric parade!!

TL has slides, and a new one too gusher something! But its claim is the wave pool... the BB claim is the tallest/highest fastest water slide, which I knew dd wouldnt do, they showed it on the Travel channel, apparently wearing a two piece suit is NOT a good idea, wedgies are common!! We went because it was included in our tickets last July, dd liked it, but not as much as the Poly pool... they have a scuba tank there too to see the sharks? DD wasnt going there either!!

So, we would do a park, but if we left the park, we'd hit the Poly Pool, and trying to get her to rest... :rotfl: nope, trying to get her out to go back to a park was hard too! She had so much fun!! You all will too!!

Another tip, the Kona Cafe does carry out! So one night I wanted to eat there, but dd was 'resting' for the late emh night, so I went ordered take out for dh and I, went to the store, bought a bottle of wine (they uncorked it for me!) and dd ate from the food I brought (PBJ, etc) :rotfl: The wings, the teriakyi steak... wonderful!! It was nice to kick back in our room while dd watched tv... just something completely different!

Water Parks will be CROWDED in the afternoon, and can close when they reach capacity. My suggestion would be to FIRST do the water park, THEN do AK. This park thins out 2-3pm. Closes at 5pm I believe.

I heartily agree with this, in fact, we did Blizzard Beach exactly this way in June of last year. We got there very early...I think it was a good hour before they were to open. We had a marvelous time up until about 11am when it got very crowded and lines were long. We had a rental car, and unlimited magic passes then, so it was easy to park hop and go to the Animal Kingdom. The shows (Lion King and Tarzan) are great to do in the heat of the day and the Safari was much better in the late afternoon when the animals were out.

My opinion is that it's easy to do AK and a water park the same day. Ideally you could be at both early but I'd pick going to AK first, water park second. I don't think you'd regret adding the park hopping option to your ticket since it would add so much more flexibility to your plans. Yes, I realize that may change all your plans, but you're good at this by now and know everything, right? :earsboy: Perhaps if you threw in this fun thing, it would make your husband like WDW more and he'd want to come back more like my husband. A meal at the ESPN Club wouldn't hurt either during your MGM day. It's my husband's favorite!! I say w :bounce: hatever keeps them coming back!!

Oooh, that's good to know about the Kona. I could see us needing a dinner in our room.

Good point about doing something that makes DH want to come back. We'll see how it goes.

AK we'll probably do first just because we won't know if we'll want to spend more than 1/2 a day there; if we wait until later, then we won't be able to since it closes at 5:00. Of course, maybe the hours will be later since there are supposed to be crowds. I don't know - I keep hearing different things about that week.

That tall water slide FREAKS me out! And the wave pool would be fun, but I think maybe when the kids are older. I might have a heart attack watching them.

Thanks everyone!
